Title: Favorite Stadium of Another School
Post by: Havs on May 14, 2015, 08:50:18 AM
The PUD stadiums thread had me thinking, what is your favorite stadium that isn't your school/team's venue? Mine is Husky Stadium at University of Washington. The building itself and the setting is simply incredible.

I may be defending her a little too much, but I just love Husky Stadium.

Precisely.

Seriously though, is there anything more underwhelming that Washington sports?  they aren't good at anything that matters.

That flour mill is no longer a mill, but a concert venue. And I agree, it's probably the best setting in CF, built in the side of a butte, views to downtown, mountains, and the Tempe Town Lake. Once the reno's are completed it will no longer be a POS inside. I can also confirm Dream Palace is still there but the Library is closed. Last I knew it was called the Gringo Star now, but I haven't paid attention recently.

Georgia and Clemson.

Clemson probably has the best setting in college football.

Both stadiums are large, but you don't even know they're there until you're very close.

Michigan is like that too, very overwhelming once you see how big the bowl is, but little above ground impact.

I think my favorite I've been to is UT or CU.  CU is just insanely beautiful and has the weird Colorado end zone thing.

My favorite stadium is Georgia. Like Dax said, its nestled in a neighborhood with trees, but I've never experienced it.

Realtalk? I think Lane Stadium is hilarious looking for a number of different reasons and I wouldn't say it's aesthetically pleasing but I do think it's kind of cool. And I WOULD def. want to go a game there, or even just check it out and do a brutal takedown of it in the real stadium thread.

Camp Randall.

Best game atmosphere I have ever seen, from tailgate to post game, just amazing all the way around.

I'm curious what your definition of QFT is.  :D

nicname: Lane stadium?  Are you serious?

Skinnybenny: is he serious?

Realtalk? I think Lane Stadium is hilarious looking for a number of different reasons and I wouldn't say it's aesthetically pleasing but I do think it's kind of cool. And I WOULD def. want to go a game there, or even just check it out and do a brutal takedown of it in the real stadium thread.
it's a complete mess is what it is.

Michigan is like that too, very overwhelming once you see how big the bowl is, but little above ground impact.

Drove by this weekend while I was in town...complete waste of time. I'll have to try again when it's actually open for a look inside.

Not too shabby for a basketball school.

Yup, good one, dad.

That stad has come a long way, could go without the mismatched turf, but other than that it's pretty great. How's the gameday atmosphere? Dean domey?

With the right guy at the helm, UNC has all the tools to win a NC. Facilities, easy (relatively of course) road to NC, talent rich location, etc..

It's to bad that ACC is easily confused with AAC. #loser conference

That endzone (far side) looks like a bigger version of what you guys are building at Vanier.

Hmm..you may be on to something here Cas. Now might just be the right time to invest in UNC football.

Based on personal experience, Michigan Stadium is overrated. Not loud, not a good tailgating atmosphere. Blueblood perception of themselves although they're all from crap ass rust belt Michigan communities.

Cool, good call, a post like this should in no way be in the thread called "ITT We Laugh At Other Pud Teams' Stadiums/Arenas." :don'tcare:
