I vote his full title and name has to be used whenever referring to Captain Stanton Weber going forward.

These guys make me want to be as consistent as eff. And I think that is a reflection of coach's instilling of winning expectations with the leadership through intrinsic things and commitmentation of getting betters.

Yes, typically we have to temper our expectations because players fill up the stat sheet during the spring game. That didn't happen today. Which makes you wonder just how truly pathetic they'll be against actual competition.

Dominique Heath looked like a stud as a return guy.

Basically, like we thought, the wide receivers corps is probably the worst ever under Snyder.  No athletic playmakers that can stretch a defense or can run a decent route and get any separation.  Burton looked the best of the worst.

Running back is essentially the same story.  We know what we've got in Charles Jones, a middle of the road guy.  Warmack looked slow and extremely unimpressive.  The standout was a fullback, Stilman?

Conclusion, our offense this year is going to blow complete ass, we won't win many games, and recruiting stars matter.

Delton is going to be a 4 year starter super stud. Kyle Klein looked good.

Our defense might actually be really good. Lee, Willis and Prewett are all high level players. Adams and Tanking should give good depth.

Our run offense will simply be predicated on Snyder either playing freshman or not. The best back all day was silmon(a frosh) and Alex Barnes looked really good at times. I think ertz won opening day starter yesterday but that's just my opinion

Everyone knows that's Liam Neeson, and don't any of you get high expectations for any player who does something above average in a spring practice.  Temper yourselves by the thought of Ell running 80 yards for a TD the first time he ever touched a football for the Cats in a spring game and then waited three years to play.

I can't wait for Ertz to start and throw the ball all around inefficiently and then have Snyds wonder in post game why Delton or Hubes didn't play.

it makes for way better bbs'ing than just having one boss stud as QB run all over everyone's faces and occasionally chuck it in the air deep to either a playmaking, strong WR or some boss stud WR with wheels.

Hope he learned his lesson two years ago.  He needs to get his play callers on the same page as him this year, he is either the boss or he isn't.  If they won't coach as he wishes they should be shown the door.
One thing I ask:  if our QB has only one shoulder, can we please still have a decent running game?

I think Delton became a legitimate threat to start.

By that, I mean when Snyder says he's now in the mix, he's not doing it to eff with the older guys.  He's legitimately going to compete for the job.

I honestly think the defense is going to be pretty damn good. The offense will be serviceable at best, but the defense is going to be very strong.

This is a bowl team on the strength of defense and ST.  McCrane will be MVP this year.

We need to focus on a position of need: Our entire offense. Kody Cook is going to be our #1 receiver so we are covered there.

Kody cook will do just fine blocking for warmack and whatever we are calling joe

All you guys are so damn high on Warmack. Our Walk-on is better than Warmack. Justin Silmon - http://www.hudl.com/athlete/440108/highlights/121638375

How the hell could you possibly know that?

The fact that a player like Bazooka Joe is even in the mix at QB at this point in time is astounding to me, and should be astounding to any K-State fan.

Even with the caveat of the spring game in place, the fact that another walk-on was seemingly the star of the show only piles on to the absurdity that we have recruited scholarship players who cannot step up and out perform walk-ons.

DL was okay, could disrupt the line easily. The OL looked pretty shaky and caused the QB's to have to scramble alot.

How did our OL/DL look?

Below were the starters for respective units.  Najvar and Risner flipped purple/white at half which means that is still a battle?  Stiverson/Kleinsorge still out with injuries.  Whitehair tweaked an ankle during the game.

Purple

64   Bennett, Aaron      RT   6'7"   285   SR-1L
68   Hayes, Luke      RG   6'6"   295   SR-1L

My take aways:

1. Rodney was a no show at the tailgate. He stayed out late with JO and Tay the night before.  :frown:
2. Ran into Bookie. It was nice seeing him. I still didn't settle our bet.  :curse:
3. My buddy (the mccormick rep) showed up with his company truck and it attracted a lot of Browns to our tailgate.  One girl told us she was on that MTV show fat camp and showed us a picture of her profile online from back in the day.  :Ugh: Umm, congrats!
4. Saw about 5 minutes of the game before we ran into ppl that we knew from back in the day and we all headed back out to the tailgate.
5. Left for Westport in the 3rd quarter and started to brown out.
6. Good times!

6. Good times!

So yeah, I think we're gonna be pretty good this year.  :emawkid: :ksu:

i saw them late in the second half when i was getting a short rib mac n' cheese.  gave them both a  :eye: and they did it right back  :D

Assuming it obviously didn't work out for her but still tries to brag how she was on mtv to make up for it. Sad really.

I drank pretty much a lot. I high fived people. I got way too competitive during washers. I got a three dollar parking ticket. I got really bored during the game. I got weird in Westport. I went to sleep.

I could get behind this if it meant adding another $65M+ addition to the stadium every year.... Otherwise, I really kind of prefer an opportunity to get to Manhappiness each spring.

I just finished work after the weekend and have a little time to chime in on the game/shenanigans. Defense looked pretty solid, but it was against a shittastic offense. Don't know what to think. Glad My Guy, Elijah Lee made some plays. Could be good. Secondary looked decent. Should be able to hang with almost everyone in the league this year. Offense was not good. Was disappointed Warmack didn't get more reps at RB. Our receivers suck so bad. Klein was the best, and even showed as much talent as an average TE. OL looked shaky. Hope that improves. Delton didn't disappoint. He is the future and a studboss. That on the run 50 yard bomb tho. Bazooka Joe was the worst QB in a spring game I've ever seen. Ertz will get the start on Sep. 5. Delton will play sparingly but will transfer.

I did enjoy actually getting to drink during the game. Beer was reasonably priced. I hope ADJC and KSUPKS sees the beer sales as a success and we get it. Probably won't happen. Mrs. Harry Doyle was pissed I drank 4 Big Boys during the game. Mostly because she is preggo. Left in the 3Q and got pak'd back at my hotel room. (Across the street, BTW, which was pretty much the best thing.)  Went to Hollywood Casino after, saw a few bros from back in the day and lost too much money. Had a KU fan sit down at the same blackjack table and listened to him tell me about how terrible they are going to be this year. It was fun. Next day, flew to Houston and listened to a UT alum (I'm assuming also a big booster) tell me how UT is going to be amazing and will crush everyone this year.

Any additional info on Sean Newlan specifically related to him going into beast mode 2.0 all over the field?  Clearly he will be the starter at safety?

Ya know, this is a good thread to state once again that the "feel good" story of "Walk-on U" is in my astute opinion one of the crappiest feel good stories in sports.

I guess the inability to recruit talent and/or motivate talent who were given rides right out of the gate is consistently lost in #tucknation pride.

Kinda, sad.

It sucks and gets old. Because no matter how much "coaching-up" you can do with a player, it'll never get you to that next level of success.

The feel good stories don't bother me at all because they are always about one of our walk-ons ending up all conference. If they were starting for us and the team sucked that would be one thing. I don't get pissed off about Jordy Nelson or Ryan Mueller starting for Kansas State, though.

That isn't the problem ppl are bringing up.  It's the fact we get kids on scholarship that walk-ons can beat out.  That speaks volumes for the recruiting ability of our coaching staff.

He got a ride from my buddy who said he was coming in on that Friday night and stayed at his place in Manhattan. So no. I guess he ended up flying to Manhattan directly vs his original plan.
