Ms. Wacky thinks I need to make a certain number in the future for us to have a happy life and I don't necessarily agree with her. I grew up with dad in college, married, with two kids and we made it work. I think it's the glamor life or bust for her tho. I've decided to lay on the couch watching friends tonight to think this through. :D

Not sure. We want kids, but not for awhile. we laugh at it now. However, she does well for herself and I think what she perceives normal is houses with pools, horses, trips around the world, and kids to go a long with it. Going to a Royals game when I was growing up was a big deal to our family and I've already surpassed them in those type of life events, so I think I'm doing OK. Different worlds you guys.

Wacky, I am proud of you, issues like this I am real about, don't give in on this, I'm serious, this could be a breaker, good or bad.  It's important to get this kind of thing hashed out before the life commitment.  I also think an 85k ultimatum is a little ridiculous IMO, regardless on timescale, for the simple reason, you can not predict your ceiling going forward, too many variables.
Title: Re: late night pit

Yeah, I get that. However, I brought up scenarios like "what if that never happens?", "my parents made it through 2 bankruptcy and they're the happiest ppl I know", etc. And it seems less about love to her. It's "I don't think you have enough drive if you don't think you'll get there" and "You've lost your job twice in three years. How does that make me feel about the future?"-fair.

Yeah, I agree. I'm still looking fwiw. A fellow gE'r or two have given me some great leads and I'm even phone interviewing with one of those companies today. I mean, without going all gopo too, the intimacy has been gone too. I know that happens with couples when they've been together for awhile, but this is absurd to me.

Yeah, that doesn't happen after a year or two.  She is probably just freaked out.

For one person to marry up, another has to marry down. Perhaps this is a new revelation to her. Or, and this could be the real poison, she is getting pressured by her family.

I don't think she's getting poisoned, I think she see's a pissing match with her family. She has 5 bros and they're all fairly successful. She see's their huge houses and crazy ass trips and assumes that will be her life too no matter what. Which, it eventually will be anyways, with her trust fund. I think she wants to brag back to her brothers and say "wacky does this and wacky does that!" Status has never really mattered to me tho. Maybe it's because I was born without one.  :dunno:

If all her bros can afford that, sounds like she is the one not pulling her weight, to me.

Also, if the bros aren't using their trusts,  I would guess that they are financing some of the extravagance.

They also likely have more valuable degrees, came out of school debt free, have masters degrees (real ones), etc.

This girl won't ever be satisfied, it's not worth the stress.

Last night I got: "I just hate that you settle. You're smart and well educated, but you continue to settle for jobs that you're comfortable with". (WC08 interrupts) WC08: "Didn't you work at Hallmark for 9 years making around the same that I make now? And you jumped ship for only a 5 K raise?" Ms. wacky: "That's different. You hate what you do. At least I did something about it". WC08: "I did too, By getting a paycheck this week and continuing to look".

BTW, she use to bitch about that job non-stop and recently bought a Tahoe that she can't afford "because you know cars are my only thing that I have a problem with". Sigh!

You do plenty of fun stuff, you just do it here.  Don't be fooled by some high profile life she thinks other people are living.  I went to school with kids from her family and not one of them had been around the world and unless they hit the powerball or the price of baked beans goes up by $10,000 a qt, they never will be.  I mean, she had a used Altima that was decent but I sure never got her confused with the kids with real money.

Just get a handle on perception v. reality and you'll be fine

Poe also considered a parrot as the bird instead of the raven; however, because of the melancholy tone, and the symbolism of ravens as birds of ill-omen, he found the raven more suitable for the mood in the poem (Poe, 1850).

And this belongs in the dating thread.
I know. I didn't want too many eyes on it tho.

Wacky, horses are mean spirited and terrifying creatures.  They'll bite your ear off without even a second thought.  Anyone who likes them is a psychopath and are not to be trusted.

Horses are huge fuckfaces.  Huge.

Any animal that you can only approach from one specific side or risk getting your face kicked in can get mumped.

Glue is their best use.

Also, that one guy that rides along side of the road all dressed up in western wear....sometimes I think about doing him and the horse a favor and swerving into them as I speed by.

Moooochelle quit preaching your fat hating bigotry to us chow hounds.  How dare you tell us not to eat at buffets.  I eat everything I pile on my plate - I probably account for 5 jobs.  When I create my holistic organic matter - 3 sewer workers thank me.  Buffets are right, an American symbol - no starving Africans here!.

My brother's horse use to chase us kids across the barn lot until we learned our possum killing dog was a sic 'em machine.  He would grab hold of the horse's tail, and get drug around the lot.  The worse experience was once being in direct line of an up close horse fart - it makes your knees buckle.

Travelling tonight - convenience store pet peeves.   To the people who open their car doors and dump nasty stuff on the ground, or barf, or dump a chewing tobacco can - please don't do it.  Can't get it off your shoes. How in the hell do blind people find the braille dots on the bottom of the bathroom signs when they first walk in the store.  And  why is the coffee so hot, you could scald feathers off a chicken with it.  Why do they let you see their gross kitchen where the food they want you to buy is made.

I am pissed at the convenient store slobs who steal from the store by standing at the fountain drink machine, filling their cups, drinking 2/3 of it, filling it up and then go up and pay for just one cup.  If these cheap turds stood over by the chips and crammed them down their gullets or filled their pockets they would be guilty of petty theft.  I hope they put the screws to these soda moochers.  It would keep my pop cheaper.

Should farmers be allowed to burn pastures?!!  The Hutch News had a good article on this.  Each spring the enviro-nazis try to get banned.  They  have tried to with clean air arguements.  I am surprised they haven't found some endangered plant or critter to stop it.  Or some grass god cult that claims grandma and grandpa are reincarnated as a blade of grass in a grand circle of life, and those heathen ranchers are cooking our graveyard.  Probably the thing that will halt it if they declare some kind of plant or animal to be gay and we can't destroy their domocile.

There are companies bioengineering male mosquitoes that care a gene that they pass on to all offspring that doesn't allow certain functions of growth to stop when they should when a young one grows up.  Basically they pop before reaching maturity.   They have been releasing them into the wild in parts of the rain forest and have had huge success at eliminating disease passed by them.

I wish I could buy a few million of them and release them in my backyard

This is the case for most state fairs I think. Price of beef is through the roof...chickens have to be destroyed...all meat is going to be at an all time high by end of summer. Probably time to make the Meat Goat Farm pay some bills.
