I can't speak to extra tickets, but there is usually a couple of open spots in section 17 row 12 that a season ticket holder has been to one game for. If you get bummy seats and want to come down and hang with Canary and I, I'm sure there will be room. I'll let ya know.

Sundance is right that I am not a virgin. But, Meow, our bone of contention is that you seem to think consequently is a preposition or part of speech meant to show contrast, when in fact it is an adverb meaning "as a result" or  "as a consequence of."

What's everyone's take on this game?  Do we win big, a close one, or can we even keep up with them offensively?
Title: Re: West Virginia on Tuesday

We are going to kill them.  Staten basically has to score 40 to even make it close.

Bennettsville is about to come crashing down around Huggs' shoulders, engulf his face with the white hot heat of anger, and probably set his breath aflame(high alcohol content).

A little faster pace probably. I don't know if "keeping up" with the WVU offense is really a thing. Sure they play fast and turn you over and oboard, but I don't think that will be enough for Hugg's terrible shooting and fouling like crazy team on the road.

Title: Re: West Virginia on Tuesday
Post by: kso_FAN on January 25, 2015, 03:00:02 PM
I'm actually not nearly as worried about full court pressure. Foster, Westicles, Edwards, etc. can all come help and will handle the ball some. The majority of our TOs come in half court offense when our guys (especially Thomas) try to force things that aren't there. Once you get past WVU's pressure you are going to get good shots, get offensive boards, and get to the FT line (a lot). Besides TO%, their defensive numbers in eFG%, OR%, and FT rate are all at the bottom of the league.
Title: Re: West Virginia on Tuesday
Post by: Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) on January 25, 2015, 03:04:45 PM
Our guards love to catch in and pass it to the corners. The others like to walk up the court without any cognition of what's going on behind them.

Hopefully, because they know wvu intends to do this, it won't be as bid of a problem.

Guys, here is the plan: TCU the crap out of them the don't fold like losers at the end.  They literally have no way to combat that. I mean, did you see TCU almost beat them and Huggs only pulled it out because he got the refs to homefield the faces off TCU at the end? Fouled basically all of TCU out in the first min of overtime.

Can't leave this to the ref s (even though they will be on our side like always, lol).  Huggs has some new jedi mind trick where he doesn't rip faces off, he calmly disagrees with the ref and moves on.  Completely mind mumped the refs at the end of the TCU game.

like all things west virginia, huggins is a washed up booze hound. his team is a reflection of that.   they may hang around in the first half but over the unwavering scent of tepid whiskey, i smell a 68-58 win for the KATS college of wildcat
Title: Re: West Virginia on Tuesday
Post by: kso_FAN on January 26, 2015, 09:37:56 AM
Turnovers are the key to WVU's defense. I ran the numbers in Big 12 play on defensive possessions that do not include TOs and WVU is the worst defense in the league, giving up a whopping 1.36 points per possession when they don't turn you over. Granted, when you turn over opponents on nearly 1/3 of their possessions you can live with that. Also, how the officials call the game will be a big factor because a big part of Hugg's defense is to be physical to the point where you force officials to make calls. If they don't make contact calls we could be in trouble, but if they do make calls we will shoot 40 free throws and the game will be 3 hours long. IMO, they are less likely to get calls playing this style on the road and I think it will make it tough for them to win in Manhattan (and most other Big 12 road games).

Non turnover defensive points per possession.

These guys are funny because they try to force turnovers yet are also super sloppy with the ball. It's like, what's the point?

This is the worst basketball game I've watched, but it seems like I say that every couple weeks

it's also the best, too
Yeah

Def best.

I'm totally enthralled by the coaching genius that designs an offense that has Foster get the ball to Gip in the post, who promptly gets tripled teamed while Foster leaves a wide open spot on the 3-point line to meander out aimlessly past the top of the key. That's X and Oing.

I thought we'd win this game. I'm disappointed. And if we lost Nino, that's even worse.

Seems so silly to say, but if we lost Nino, the season is gonzo.

If you take the 2nd best scorer and best rebounder off of most teams they are going to struggle.

I like how he hurt himself by losing control of the ball on a wide open layup.  At least he made it I guess.
