Yes. They tailgate for like 4 hours, then watch the first quarter and go back outside to tailgate for another 3-4 hours. It's a great experience and I'd hate to see K-State students miss out on it this year.

If we need some spring celebration, bring back the alums to play. Real tackle or flag. No risk to our stud present players. Then follow up with on field experiences such as autograph sessions and such.

I believe you have vastly underestimated the tuck-titude that exists in the KC Metro area. If I recall, some of the greatest tucks in gpc history call that little hunk of heaven home.
I can already hear the grumblings about how hard it was to find Sporting Park, how difficult the parking was, let alone the number of stairs leading into the park nearly killing them echoing across Village West/The Legends and and creating a massive clot of posts on gpc.

The 2nd locations of good places to eat in the Legends are not as good (Arthur Bryants, Jazz, and probably some others)
You can get a cheap, not horrible breakfast at the casino though.

Doubtful. It sounds like the only reason they can do this is because the stadium is under renovation. They had to get an NCAA waiver to host the game off campus, host recruits, etc.

Terrible idea. Playing a football game on our pitch in the middle of the season is one of the worst ideas anyone at Sporting has had.

It's not overacting. It's knowing it is an unnecessary event on the field used by a professional team in season when there are other venues that don't have teams in season.

hopefully we'll get a nice (couple inch) April shower the night before the game (April 24), and Shorty will have us bust out the longest cleats we have, like a good 2.5 inch cleat, and the guys just really dig in on Saturday and "get after "it"" ("it" being the sod/turf/pitch?)

working on a plan to blend in with the grounds crew, and after the game, if the field isn't cratered in to my liking, I will take the mowers out to mow the field, except I will be pulling a plow behind me. just need an "in" with the grounds crew, then a simple pull-behind-mower-plow, and I should be all set.

At least for beachball last year (not sure about other times/concerts) they had this removable white plastic field cover that was installed in sections not unlike the basketball court, so i guess it protects it somewhat.
