Recent history shows that could lead to a starting position on an NFL roster. I think he'd take that offer.

Tom Brady

I heard Matt Leinart wants to go back to college.

Again, love these threads because of nuggets of info/debate, hate them for this reason.
I did see something on a website offering potential destinations for Miller if he transfers, and KSU was a logical destination on the list. Compared him to Bishop. But I guess his dad says he wants to stay at OSU.
Of course parents in these situations are wrong 99.7% of the time, so it probably means he's transferring soon.
-
sd, hear me out. what about jeff driskel at the UofF?
-
I think the real question is, outside of Braxton are there any 5th year QBs who would be willing to transfer and would even have a chance to come in and take the starting spot from, presumably, Hubener? I can't think of any.

If you can't think of QBs that could take the job from a walk-on, you aren't thinking hard enough.

I don't know if excited is the right word, it's more like a perverse curiosity, but I am very interested to see what Hubener can do, if for nothing else than to ride this walk on narrative to its natural conclusion - starting one at QB.

I am fine seeing what Hubes can do.. I am not fine rolling with our only option after him being a 7 on 7 frosh qb. We need to find our grant gregory so that we can Bill the crap out of next season if needed.

Well, yes. Might as well go all in with it since there aren't better options.
-
Miller at KSU is an incredibly exciting prospect. No way we beat out most of the teams on this list if he does decide to transfer though. I think this is the article PanJ was talking about, it's a bit out dated.. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000430465/article/potential-landing-spots-if-braxton-miller-were-to-leave-ohio-state
-
By no means am I saying I'm happy with Hubener as the main guy, but what else is out there? We've already seen that Hubener has a strong arm, can run as well, if not better, than Waters and has two years in the system. I think we can dust off the Collin Klein playbook and ride him to an 8-4 or possibly 9-3 season next year if we have a decent RB. Outside of Braxton I don't see any guy that could transfer in and immediately unseat him based purely on talent since Hubener would have a much greater knowledege of the offense. If there is someone please do share so I can get my hopes up. :dunno:
-
Everett Golson
-
Everett Golson
Do not want. No way we could win more than 7 games with that guy giving the ball away every other possession.
-
If there is someone please do share so I can get my hopes up. :dunno:
driskel is like, the most successful zone read qb in the history of college football*. he's more than likely to transfer, and is eligible immediately.
a 6'4 - 230lb battering ram into the los. and, although it would be very squawk to mention, he was also the #1 qb in the class of 2011.
*stat based solely on one game where he set every UofF qb rushing record and left tebow in the dust in others.
-
Everett Golson
looked this up the other day, and do not believe he will graduate in time since he missed a semester for poor judgement.
-

Not sure if he is a 5th year but what about OSU's Walsh.

Grant Hedrick, from Boise State, to small for the nfl, but our up the kind of numbers we'd need with what we have returning. We need someone like this that can step in and lead for a year, or back up Hubes either way...

Nevermind the fact he wouldn't leave Boise anyways, but he has no eligibility left. :flush:

Huh. Don't recognize the name of the author, but it's kind of cool that he mentioned Bishop. I wonder how many college football writers still remember Michael Bishop?

I can't tell if you're not trying at all or if you're trying way to hard, Yard Dog. Rich Rod's freshman QB is not transferring.

5th yr kid of any quality that wouldn't know the job was his after looking at our current roster is most likely a FP, potential TC, etc. anyway, I suppose.
-
Are there any kids w a 5th yr to give that are transfering for any other reason than having younger players take their starting spots?

bill would absolutely tell someone the job was theres if they were worth telling that to. bill is out for his. which is good because his is also mine (until it comes time to hire his replacement then mine is mine and his is his)

Do you think Bill will get another QB. Referring to the conversation he had with Lockett when they were in New York.

There *might* be something in the works, but I'd consider it a relative longshot at this point.

Not a fair comparison.

Post The 5th Year QB We Will Get To Transfer To EMAW ITT
Really? You expect a QB who after 4 years is not good enough to start where he is currently enrolled to come to KSU, learn the offense (spring/summer) and be a factor..please. That is FCS level thinking.
Taking our chances with Snyder directing the strongest armed QB we've had in a long time, Bazooka Joe, is by far the best choice.
-

ESU, I thought we were discussing QB's. Wide receiver is another story.
-
Just accept that our offense will blow balls and taints next year. Atleast we will have a cool stadium to look at and stuff.

I will not put a limitation on what Bazooka Joe can do in the redzone.
-
I don't think our offense will blow next year. Just because you don't know anyone filling in that well, doesn't mean they'll be complete crap. If anyone can glue something together, it's Bill.
-
I've seen enough of Hubener to think we should be very good offensively next year.
-

ya, I mean look what did Bill was able to do with Sams @OSU, and BU in 2013 w/o Lockett and TT. I feel pretty good about this team averaging at least 27 points per game in conference play next year.
-
We'll be fine. We always have someone show up that we never expect to. The defense should be a lot of fun. It won't be flashy, but I could see us being pretty good.
-
Only TCU is really set at QB next year, maybe OSU with the true freshman Rudolph. The rest of the conference will be bringing back someone they don't have full confidence in or going with a new guy. I smell a trip to Orlando for the prestigious Russell Athletic Bowl.

Everybody making big deal about Randolph. Reminds me of hype involving Trevor Knight at the end of last season. I'm not sold.
Yes, OSU looks to have favorable schedule, but I think we finish ahead of them.

Arizona quarterback Connor Brewer said Wednesday that he has received a release from his scholarship to transfer.
Brewer is graduating but has two years of eligibility remaining.
Brewer, 6-foot-2, 206 pounds, was a member of the ESPN 150 and the Elite 11 in 2011. He passed for more than 7,000 yards and 100 touchdowns in three seasons at Chaparral (Arizona) High School, and committed to Texas after winning three state titles.
Brewer redshirted at Texas in 2012 and transferred to Arizona, where he sat out 2013 and was a backup this season.

Apologies if Luked, but did any of you listen to BITB today around 5:45 or so?
BITB, when discussing KSU depth at QB with the personalities on 810, mentioned the idea that Sams could graduate from McNeese, and transfer back as a 5th year QB. BITB was pretty purposeful about it. The gang asked him if he had insider info, and he reused to confirm or deny, FWIW.

Come home, Daniel. We still love you.

Probably around a 1% chance of that happening.

The fact that LHC Bill Snyder probably isn't on his knees at this very moment in front of Daniel Sams begging for forgiveness and for him to come back infuriates me.
-
how close do you guys think Bill came to shutting it down in life when he saw the highlights of our guy daniel trucking nebraska players this season? had to have raised his pulse to levels his heart hadn't experienced since whitney had that huge kegger at his crib.
-
Baby mama drama though....
-
BITB use to crap on Daniel daily. That's pretty interesting that he's going to bat for him now.

We've never ever gotten a 5th year quarterback that's ever mattered. And yes, I loved me some G^2, but he never mattered. This isn't happening.

How many "Everett Man A Wildcat" t-shirts could I sell before getting shut down?

I'm not positive but I think 2007 or so. So, like, we don't have a lot of history to go on here.

GG is the one and only, I believe

I would appreciate this, with some sort of tutor/chalkboard background.

ESPN article says it would take a "not easily granted" waiver to go to an SEC school.
