We're too young/new to playing at this level. Everyone panicked when we got down and started trying to run around and make big plays the entire time. If we play them at home I bet we stay controlled enough to come back and win, even if we are down about 10 points at half. We'll be fine. I don't think we'll shoot that poorly from 3 again the rest of the season.
Also of note, I had a huge meltdown already, so don't think I didn't meltdown.

Our PGs can't get 40 minutes a game if they are gonna play like this. Foster and Edwards were awful tonight but I wouldn't mind seeing more of Foster Edwards Westicles in the backcourt together. I don't care who brings the ball up (all 3 are capable)
I'm not going to over react and say Nigel/Jevon need only play 20 minutes combined, just saying playing 40 may be a stretch.

Deep down, i expect us to pull it together and start playing some quality ball by the start of conference play, but for right now i'm fine just reacting to whats in front of me. Complaining about rusty early season play followed by our 5-hearts buckling down and making a solid run at some other late season disappointment is what being a kats fan is all about, enjoy it.

Before we crawl up nino's tree and shake his manhood fruits to the ground for the bears to eat, we need to remember he helped when some big games for us last year. In a game like this you can point fingers at some plays or player and find fault. I would like to see Hurt make a three, but he didn't. We need to figure out what is bothering Edwards. A lot of people anticipated a blowout.

Before we crawl up nino's tree and shake his manhood fruits to the ground for the bears to eat, we need to remember he helped when some big games for us last year. In a game like this you can point fingers at some plays or player and find fault. I would like to see Hurt make a three, but he didn't. We need to figure out what is bothering Edwards. A lot of people anticipated a blowout.

I feel that this team is going to be one that can achieve great things and win games that they shouldn't, but at the same time perform very poorly and lose a game to TCU. There is just too much inconsistency in the guard play for us to be elite.

It is one thing to be upset with how we are playing as a team and how the coaching seems to be shitty right now, but it is a completely (stupid) other thing to discount how great some of our guys are.

Agree. There's talent to compete with really good teams if the coaches can figure out some things and get the players committed and comfortable in their roles.

hurt plays hard and takes up space in the paint. i'm fine with his play. i didn't expect much from him though.
no more 21 footers from him either. gipson being an idiot has helped hurt's minutes which should benefit the team as he has legit size as opposed to gip who has no size.

My biggest problem with oscar at Illinois was when his center would watch a guard get all the way to the rim and just stare at him. It pisses me off, Hurt does this at times.

it eventually matters. I hesitate to use this comparo but the Pelini firing shows that everything has a shelf life. I fully admit that oscar's shelf life here is prolly greater than his desire to coach and he retires before he gets fired.

“As far as scheduling goes you want to win games that is the most important thing, you have to schedule to your team, we have somewhat of an experienced team, we have a summer trip already planned, so that is going to give us a chance to practice and play games in Brazil, which is going to help us and then if you have that background you can play a little tougher schedule. I love the neutral games, if you have a good team you will play in the NCAA Tournament, you are going to play on neutral courts, so now to play in Kansas City and Wichita, you want to give your guys experience in playing all different styles of play from all over the country, you want to give them the chance to play in different types of venues. Like Kansas City and Wichita, so when you get to the NCAA Tournament, there are no surprises, so I think those are great games, you want to be challenging, but at the same time you have to be smart as a coach. I am 22 years old and coach Keady tells me that the most important part is scheduling, I have said coach it is recruiting you have to have players, you can schedule yourself into a bad season. It is important with what you do with your schedule and it is something that if you ask your assistant coach that does scheduling, that it is the hardest part of our job. It is important and it is something that we will give a lot of attention to.”

The best part of the UNO game was when we got pissed and became rabid dog mean. Gip took no crap, and Jevon just about decked a UNO player. Malek, Wes, and Nino were stud grunt rebounder. We won't play pretty boy KU style of ball, but we will have a good year if we play mean intense nasty ball. Weber will get Hurt and Edwards into a higher gear very soOn. We don't suck. We are the Cats! And that's not a pussy cat. We are hard balled mean ass Wildcat!

I don't think Gip will let that happen.. If you haven't noticed, he can get pretty intense when things aren't going well, and that wears off on the others.
