they are a confident team and had us playing their game in the 1st half but are also mentally weak and not disciplined enough to stay on top of us.  just imo

UMKC might be good, but I don't think Jevon is at all.

When everybody is off of injury and such hopefully we don't need him for meaningful minutes. I think that Jevon adds a lot when he isn't expected to score.

Harrison kinda reminds me of Angel - physical, crafty below the rim penetrator, good defender

His free throws have improved. He can play fast and be exciting. Can get a little careless from time to time, but he definitely looks improved. On the other end, Nigel's a scoring machine.

He doesn't need to be a shooter, he does so many small things. The game is going to slow down for him and he is going to score more in the paint. He also a plus rebounder for his position, something we need.

Agreed. IMO, Jevon will mature as the season progresses and become a pretty good player. A lot of potential there. He'll be fine in the long run.

Jevon did several things tonight that pissed me off, some really stupid passes and the fouls at the end, other than that he played his roll well. He's really growing on me. I wish he'd learn to finish consistently

Petino has had a ton of coaches from his staff end up being successful head coaches, namely Billy Donovan. I have a feeling Kareem Richardson is the next in line.

That aggressive zone style is great, the high post becomes such a danger spot on how they collapse on it. Richardson did such a great job getting his team to play with confidence. I watched UMKC 4-5 times last year it is amazing on how much improvement they have made.

Jevon's second half drives were great.  He played a little more aggressive (eye test).  He is so quick and so good at passing to the post mid drive.  If he can start out that way Edwars, Hurt, Gip, Wes, and anyone who can catch a ball  above thier head is going to score a lot.

how bad is purdue going to put in on us?

Hopefully we have Nino back by then and Wes will have a lot more reps in practice. That experience will pay off big. Still, I think the LBS game will be the most telling on how we will perform against the hoosier wannabees from West Lafayette.

Question.

What looks better for us going forward.

A) UMKC wins the rest of their games going forward including a December 9th match with Iowa State.

Or

B) UMKC has a decent season but lose on December 9th to the Cyclone Cardinals?

They are an Adidas team so what did you expect?

I don't care for their colors or the font choice on their jerseys, but "Kansas City" across the chest made me really sad that KC doesn't have an NBA team.  :frown:

He wouldn't cut his hair like Marcus, Jevon, and Malek. So he was cut from the options list right there.

I heard the 'top used to tour with a giant Tutankhamun statue. it would sit atop a giant white sheet that obscured the stage, and when the show started it would snort the sheet up its nose revealing the 'top beneath, who would of course start rocking. this is pretty much the coolest thing I've ever used my brain to imagine
