Just read an article at www.sbnation.com/college-basketball. It gives a super promising analysis for the upcoming year. "Could be Weber's best team since Dee Ford". Hope you read this.
-
When I read this post pre-edit, I thought it was the perfect post. I...I was wrong.

"There's such a tradition at Kansas State. I think we've been able to re-energize it," Weber said. "My biggest goal is to keep it going and take another step. Do we have the talent and athleticism to make a nice run, go deep in the tournament? You bet. I feel deep down like we'll be really good."
"I think we'll be one of the better defensive teams in the Big 12 and in the country," Weber said. "We have to do what we do well and that's guard people. That's how we'll win close games."
-
i'm getting the feeling that our guy reno loves oscar even more than he hates libs
-
i am glad our new stud was able to rescue us from the sleepy and forgettable frank martin era and really light a fire under our collective asses
-
We are going to be so salty this year. Good chance of wining 28+ while playing in the deepest league in America.
-
edwards' vertical goes up every time. 36, then 42, now 46.
-
Offense was another issue (ranking eighth of 12 teams in the Big 12 and 223rd in the nation)
Solid fact checking.

2013-14 IN REVIEW: 20-13 overall, 10-8 (fifth in the Big 12), lost in third round of NCAA tournament to Kentucky.
super solid

223rd in the nation tho
maybe we'll move up into the higher 100s this season?

Im actually kinda worried about our ability to shoot. Seems like Foster is the only proven shooter on the team.

The way I look at it, is that Will and Shane equated to one effective scorer for the team last year because of their inconsistencies. So they get replaced by Edwards as a whole and we still get to add Hurt. All other positions improve with the off season and experience.

Let's be honest. Nobody here gave a crap about basketball before oscar came on board and now he's got you guys all pumped up and ready to pop. I mean the change in fan interest and passion for the go purple cats men's hooping team is night and day. oscar has delivered one and all. That's not even taking into account the vastly increased exposure in the national media JUST LIKE THIS ARTICLE RIGHT HERE.

Did you ever notice that when Shane was on we won, and when he wasn't we sucked? Everyone ready to pop their dick off over this team and we don't have a forward capable of shooting a three (Wesley against OU excluded). oscar's comments setting this squad up to underachieve

I am not worried about 3 point shooting or rebounding this year. Marcus, Nigel, Tre, Edwards and Hurt should be fair 3 point shooters; even Wes can make them occasionally. Rebounding should be improved with the addition of Hurt, Bolden, and Malek – they give us more height and fresh bodies to have a high rebounding effort for the entire game. Our depth should allow us to keep fresh legs in the game at all times and keep the intensity of play going all game. My biggest concern is free throw shooting. We have to improve it would be interesting to know how many points we lost last year on missed free throws and the opportunity to shoot bonus free throws. The transition game should be better also Edwards, Nigel, Marcus, Jevon, Malek, Bolden, and Wes should run the floor well. Nino, DJamer and Gip will provide the muscle underneath the basket.
-
Yeah Hurt is going to be nomnomnoming those threeballs all season, son. Green light!

If your biggest concern is free throw shooting, then that is all we need to know about your basketball acumen

That's when I stopped reading that post. I got a good kick out of it at least!
-
maybe you guys just are basketball vegetarians, unlike renocat who loves a tasty bball filet mignon
-
There is no way renocat would waste his time with a girly filet mignon, he's a 32oz porterhouse man all the way
-
Hurt shot 80% from the free throw line and was 8-18 from 3 last year. :sdeek:

Like renocat said, he's got that green light. Streeyetch five!

Aside: why did he only play 15 minutes a game at a juco? Do they have shorter games?
-
Aside: why did he only play 15 minutes a game at a juco? Do they have shorter games?
He was really overweight. May still be, but rumor is that he's not as much anymore.

So he had a good freshman year at a shitty nobody school and left to juco to get better schools interested and then got fat and barely played? Bold move.

Also, streeeYETCH faaahve!! Stretch five! Stretch five! :emawkid:

Alternate explanation is that his coach got confused because he was playing Hurt. :dunno:

10-2 Topeka Cap Journal article says DJamer not healing, and other sources are suggesting a redshirt year. New kid old spice is hurt and will red shirt. No news abour Karapetyan. He must be lower than the walk ons. Did anyone go to the open practice?

Shut up renocat

Shut up renocat
No!!! I lived through the dark days of K State basketball - watched and listened to every game I could, but finally got tired of mediocracy and drifted away. Then Wooly. My KU friends use torture me during BB season. Huggins and Martin, and now Weber have gotten our program out of the swamp. You can take things for granted - not me. I am proud to be a Wildcat basketball fan and excited about this team. I don't give a crap what others think. If you can't stand my enthusiam poke your eyes and not read my posts
-
I think you are still taking some things for granted
-
Who is this clean jeans guy?
-
Sock. Not supposed to clean denim very often.
-
Man get a body bag for bubbles corpse. Renocat is cleaning house.
-
I like the cut of renocat's jib
-
It's certainly better with him here than without him. I'm a fan. Very passionate about his cats.
-
i like him
-
I've been a renocat supporter from post 1
-
renocat? reyescat. yesyescat!
-
He seems to have taken a wrong turn on his way to the Scout board. I'm taking a wait-and-see myself but nothing wrong with unabashed fandom. Of course, I'm still wait-and-see on Weber.

Kansas State: The Wildcats won 20 games and made an NCAA tournament appearance last season. This year, oscar Weber is hoping sophomores Marcus Foster — a potential first-team All-American — and Westicles, who played major roles in their first year, can take K-State a step further. The program adds four-star forward Malek Harris, as well transfers Hopper, Brandon Bolden and Big Meat. Contending for the Big 12 title isn’t out of the question pending Foster’s ability to develop as a playmaker.

Guys, I am getting just a tad excited........
Who is renocat referring to when he says "old spice" is redshirting?
-
"mediocracy"
-
redshirt? wtf? why would a walk on (old spice) redshirt? this doesn't seem plausible.
-
redshirt? wtf? why would a walk on (old spice) redshirt? this doesn't seem plausible.
Old Spice is the man-hunk slow footed 3 bomber from Tx. I read Buechler is hurt and out for the year. He has 5 years in which to play 4. Not sure if this can only happen if he is redshirted. He is a preferred walk on. Staff must think he has potential. I'm still perplexed about Hopkrapgood as to why he is still on scholarship. I guess a practice body is needed; maybe a secret weapon.
-
Sounds like the tucks really want Foster to play the point. I am completely against this.
-
preferred walk on don't mean crap son
-

you shouldn't be, it would be great for him and the team. Our other PG's are terrible.

Jevon and Nigel are better than people think. Both missed of the fall workouts last year. Moving an elite shooting guard to a point guard can really back fire.
-
Since Weber has arrived we seem to have a sleeper and clunker player every year. A sleeper is someone that surprises the media and a clunker is someone to torture on a thread. 1st year sleeper - DJamer/ clunker - Orris. 2nd year Foster - sleeper/ Krap clunker. IMO this year sleeper is Edwards and clunker is Bolden; too skrawny.
-
Lol all right man

Krap is going to be the clunker again this year

Yes, also good for syrup chugging, but when a guy like stevesie needs to swallow some meat he's going to want to go ahead and relax that throat is the word on the street.

NBC Sports
http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/10/13/2014-2015-season-preview-ranking-the-biggest-x-factors/
“Kansas State’s transfers: Marcus Foster has a shot to be a first-team all-american this season, but there are still some questions with his supporting cast. Westicles, Nigel Johnson and Jevon Thomas are all expected to take a step forward, and Malek Harris is a four-star addition, but it is a trio of transfers that could make the difference. Hopper could end up being a double-figure scorer on the wing, while Big Meat and, to a lesser extent, Brandon Bolden give oscar Weber some much-needed height in the paint.”
-
Thanks for the meat
-
:Wha:
Hearing that Brandon Bolden is really solid defensively. Wonder what he has to give offensively in the half court.

I figure it's free game to go a pickin' for oscar quotes that really showcase his ineptitude going into this season. In retrospect, I would be very surprised if oscar was actually around this team at all during the entire offseason
-
We should start a kickstarter for any journalist who would read that to oscar and just sit back and listen.
