Oh yeah.  I pretty much scream it every time I pour another one. Roomies are no longer amused.

The bottle's freakin' awesome.  The name's great. The fact that it's actually good puts it over the top.

Reply or don't reply, I don't care. Just know there are laws against living with 300 felines in your home. You're probably passed out from rum and sleeping underneath about 20 of them right now. Think about it.

Bacardi Anejo
Gosling

Ginger Beers:
Barritts

Of course my list is not comprehensive at all.

the best D&S are made with Maine Root Ginger Beer, found at whole foods.  strong spicy ginger.

rum?  bundy or pyrat.

lime?  of course.

diced jalapeno?  yes, i invented that little addition.

i drink mine out of massive glass chalices.

the type of ginger beer you use is key.  some are garbage and just sweet with no spice.  but ya, they are kinda sweet.

ya reed's is a joke.  sadly, it's available everywhere.  D&S's can get way too sweet really easily that's why it's important to bring the stormy to the dark and not just use any ginger beer.

drinking the maine root right now.  good.  good and gingery.  i like the fentimens best though.  then the maine root and some australian one (bundaberg maybe, but it said extra ginger or something on it too) are about tied.

i'll consider upgrading the rum, maybe.  but i'm pretty convinced it doesn't matter.  anyone know how to butter a rum?  something i want to try as soon as it gets a little colder.

ya I like to butter up some rum.

2 sugar cubes
2 oz dark rum (I like cruzan black strap or kraken for this)
boiling water to top up

put sugar cubes in the bottom of the glass or cup, add rum and top with water.  dot the surface with butter and stir gently.

I like the spice of maine root but it's almost equally sweet and spicy to me. like almost too sweet...but I'm pretty sensitive to sweet drinks. I like the flavor of ginger people but wish it were spicier. I may just combine them. :dunno:
