I have a lucky coin. I assign one team to heads and the other to tails, and then I flip. Whichever side is facing up is the team I place my money on. When the Cats are playing, I have a super special coin that has heads on both sides. I give the Cats heads, and then flip that coin. That way I know my money will be in LHC Bill Snyder's safe hands.

I play whatever line I get from my guy. With that said, at times I'll put a play in early based on what we think a line will do based on public perception or how far off we think the line is. Other times, we'll make a later play if the market moves a line far enough that the math says we have a big enough edge.

Got it. I haven't bet for a few years and remember always either placing the bet early, then it moving and I would miss it and should have waited, or the other way. I guess this is where numbers crunching and real research really comes into play.
Never forgot my first bet was a five team basketball parlay nailed it, thought I could have big plans making money in Vegas! Next day I was broke again... Learned that one the hard way!

We aren't convinced that Lockett is factored into this number and are of the belief that it will cross a key number (14) when its confirmed he's a full go. IF it gets to 17+, we will look to middle it on 13-17.

First off... I am NOT a fan of road chalk, but in certain instances it's the right side. The weeknight home dog trend is now no longer a secret AND it hit last night. Having both road teams with what seem to be very short lines given the comparative strengths of the opponents, I'm going to lay the points in these instances.
Also, I know what you mean with Wazzu... With that said, this is Leach's third season in Pullman and they've gotten progressively better since he arrived. We are looking for him to be very strong ATS this fall.

I think BYU/UH is an over-reaction to what happened with Texas & UTSA and wouldn't be surprised to see a letdown outta the Cougs. Gonna take a deeper dive there.

Duke -15.5 vs KU. This started out at -17
Iowa -10 vs ISU. Started out at -13.5
Maryland -3.5 vs WV. I wouldn't be surprised if WV wins that one.
OU -20.5vs. Tennessee. Seems low to me, but crap, who knows.
BYU -18.5 vs Houston. Started out at -14. Folks loading up on BYU
I think BYU/UH is an over-reaction to what happened with Texas & UTSA and wouldn't be surprised to see a letdown outta the Cougs. Gonna take a deeper dive there.
My gut is that OU just rolls Tennessee, but 3 TDs is a lot of points. Not sure how ku stays within 3 TDs of Dook, tho. Have the Devils fallen off that much?

I think BYU struggles to match the same intensity this week, while UH isn't as bad as what they looked during their opening week game vs UTSA. The MeepMeeps have proven to be a pretty formidable opponent thus far as well.

Looking at maybe adding OU -20.5 vs UT-lite...
That appears to be a total mis-match the more I look at it, Stoops will want to do very bad things to the vols simply because they are SEC! SEC! SEC!, and sports talk radio down here had a guy from a Nashville station on that said it'd be a blood-letting based on UT-lite's overall youth as well as inexperience in their secondary.

1) FADE the top 5 consensus of the LVH Supercontest for the first 12 weeks.
2) Tail EBNOZN in the LVH Supercontest. (That dude KNOWS his crap)

so... Detroit wins by 2, Royals are down 3-1 or something in the bottom of the 7th, and Eagles/Colts are tied at 27-27 all around the same time. So I'm 99% sure I'm going to hit this parlay as long as the Colts kick a FG. they are about to get kicked off to with like 3 minutes to go...
i took a live bet of Eagles ML for half the payout of the parlay to hedge that bad boy.
felt really good to win after getting slaughtered this weekend! :D

I'd take Mich St and Louisville at those numbers, but I'm seeing them at -45.5 and -26.5 respectively. I like the Miss St play. LSU's offense has been underwhelming IMO with Jennings at QB. And MSU's defense should be pretty stout against LSU's power run attack.

I've seen a few 8s show up and then disappear. I don't see it as a 38-34 type of game. I think it's more low 60s total.

If Auburn doesn't hold KState under 30, it will go over because I think that will give Auburn more possessions. I think both offenses are potent. I just think Snyder will be able to control the ball and limit Auburn's possessions, thus keeping the scoring lower than expected.
But I could certainly see this becoming a track meet, ala Auburn/aTm last year.

Felt good about Panthers -3 but since it was a 3-team parlay at 6:1 i took Steelers +3.5 after the line moved and made some money. I can't believe I ever did parlays where all the games were at the same time. Hedging is like, awesome. Guaranteed money.

In my opinion, its "mostly" about statistics. However, to maximize return one has to take matchups and situations into account as well.

Duke hasn't done anything either. Beat Elon, KU and Tulane (all at home) and god-awful Troy. The Tulane final was super misleading (Tulane had five TO's, including two pick-6's late); KU couldn't expose Duke's banged-up D and Troy, quite literally the worst Sun Belt team and in the discussion for worst team in the country, actually led 14-3 before eventually covering.
Duke closed as a 3.5-point dog late last year at home and will take (at least) a small step back this year, while Miami is likely about the same (despite a few bad road losses), so the line actually makes some sense. That said, hard to trust Miami laying more than 6 here, IMO.

well, OU used to (dont know if they still do) have grass, Nebraska, Colorado and A&M all did while they were in the Big 12. briles first season at baylor was 2008, so im guessing a bulk of those losses were to those 4 teams plus ISU from 08-12.

Miami deserves a pass for the L'Ville opener. Road game in front of a huge crowd on a weeknight, with frosh QB playing his first-ever game. They thoroughly beat Ark St, which is a below average team but by no means terrible. And against Nebraska, Miami moved the ball well through the air (8.5 yppa) against a solid defense, one that's definitely better than Duke.
Probably a bigger game for Miami given that they're already 0-1 in league play. And again, Duke's D hasn't been tested. Elon's offense is a disaster, and Tulane, KU and Troy are bad and all breaking in new QBs.
Also, Miami was not "soundly" beaten by Nebraska. They trailed by 3 late third and by 7 early in the fourth despite being minus-1 in turnovers, and despite giving up a defensive touchdown - which was ultimately the difference in the game. As far as YPP, it was virtually even, with Miami having all its success through the air and Nebraska getting everything on the ground.

I'm not a "math guy". A good friend of mine came up with a solid algorithm for predicting cfb outcomes. I look at matchups and situations so that we can apply those angles to find an edge in any games, then we sort our card from there.

I went back and watched the MSU/aTm last night because I didn't get to see much of it Saturday while setting up our tailgate. Aggy didn't play that terribly in the first half, and State built on some momentum from turnovers. If aTm catches half the balls they dropped, the game never gets out of hand in the first half and probably doesn't become a blowout in the second half. I look for them to play much better at home this week. I have no idea how OM is going to get passed that historic game. I could see aggy running away with this game late mainly because OM won't have the emotional energy to put forth late.

They've played most of the season without them, and I got caught with a losing ticket on the bear cubs last week due to overlooking that little tidbit. Really like this card. Bama is interesting. The line seems off about 7 points. I know UT, even at night, doesn't carry a 7 point home field advantage. Plus, I have no idea how they will score. But I don't know why Bama is only -17. What are your thoughts, BP?

Thanks for the kind words... Bama rolls again. UT-lite has a bunch of frosh/sophs lining up against grown men and that d-line is horrible. I think the road trip to an improved pig aggy is keeping that line down. Also, lay the points with Auburn. Math says that line is off by 7-10 points. There's more line value there than there is in our game... Just know when to play on, or against, your squad.

I read online earlier that there's two schools of thought on our line... one is that there will be late Texas money and the other is that, with already 4-5 points of line value, that K-State will take sharp dollars late and it'll close higher. If it does get to 9.5, I don't think it'll stay there long.
With that said, Pinnacle is usually a pretty sharp offshore book and their the only ones at 9.5.

Not sure if I'll play this or not, but I think UT wins in Austin. Your kids were crying on the field and, after a game like that, traveling cross country to play a team that MUST win to maintain any hopes of a bowl game is a HORRIBLE spot to be in. I think your 'eers are a considerably better team, however there's no way I'm gonna back them financially to recover from that heartbreak against a group of very good athletes who MUST win to keep any hopes of a bowl game alive.

The cold streak on posted plays continues.... 3-7 this week bringing the season to 103-74-7. Still profitable, but need to get back on the right side of things.
Hit all 5 of my unposted leans in a 5-teamer and ended up hammering the Georgia game, so was able to turn a profit yesterday at least.

Although there's no bettable line for the KU/OU game yet, I plan to play on OU fairly aggressively. KU is in a horrible sandwich spot between their Sr day upset bid with TCU and Bowen & Co.'s super bowl thanksgiving weekend.
Add in the fact that OU is an athletic mis-match for the hawks and this one looks like a potential bloodbath. I see a 'suggested line' of 28.5, but I think public perception will drive that number down if it opens that high.
