This is a thread for posting only high level insider information. If you don't want to post it you can PM it to me and I will post it or you can PM it to me and I won't post it if you don't want me to and we'll just both enjoy our friendship and knowing the secret.
example: Leverett is in a walking boot
-
The roster is full of studs, shhhh don't tell anyone.

hi steve dave,
I heard our roster is really good!

The coaches are excited about Clinkscales.

I think we're all pretty excited about clink.

As we should be.

everyone remember to PM me stuff you don't want to post on the board. really high level stuff.

Can't remember the last time I was this excited about a defensive tackle. Who was the last dominating tackle we had?

Dominant is subjective, but probably Fatafeihi.
I probably misspelled that.

That's the only guy that was coming to mind for me as well. A lot of good ends but very mediorcre tackles.
-
we have a long and prestigious history of piecing together medium quality interior d-lines from low/very-low quality pieces.

We've done the best we can with ground chuck.
-
Definitely Fatafehi. Many a KST tard might try to say someone like Reese but he was a liability against really good, physical interior OL play (see Colorado). I feel that the guy we had at nose in '11 was dominant w/ respect to owning the A gaps on running plays but in only that sense and in only that season. Clinkscales, ability wise, is the first player I've been excited about in terms of owning those gaps vs the run AND having the ability to bull rush and bow plays into the backfield. He is definitely a power guy. The question now becomes how hard he works and how passionate will he play?
-
Derricott is really rough ridin' EMAW.. how good he is at football right now, even the insiderest of insiders don't know.
-
Back to SD's original point...
Do we know the severity or reason in boot for Leverett?
Sprain? Broken foot bone?
-
I'm bracing myself for a letdown with Derricott already. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't see him contributing much more than a little spot time here and there.
IIRC, DD said in a GPC article that he would sometime be out wide covering the oppositions best WR. If nothing else he could be counted on to sub out for a guy like Will Davis in obvious passing downs?
-
Daniel Calvin
-
is all the recent uncertainty about derricott's football ability being generated by that photo? because if so, pfft.

I believe Garden CC ran a 3-4 last year, that could really hurt the learning curve.
-
Is Derricott 2 to play 2?
-
Is Derricott 2 to play 2?
good question... I don't think he's taken a redshirt yet, though. Could be wrong, but *pretty sure* he's 3x2...
Anybody know for certain?

Couldn't really find much, except "Derricott graduated from Hermitage High School (VA) in 2012"
so assuming that's accurate, with him playing at GCCC as a FR and SO., that would put him at 3x2.
-
Derricott is really rough ridin' EMAW
A Powercat & K-State are tattooed on his hands. I'd say so.

If he graduated in Spring 2012, his clock started fall of 2012.
2012: FR
2013: SO
2014: Redshirt
2015: JR
2016: SR
I wouldn't at all be surprised to see him redshirt. In fact, I'd encourage it.

I really don't think that there is a chance in hell we redshirt a 4 star JUCO LB when we only have 1 returning LB that has any experience.
-
i want both derricott and riddle on the field. because speed.

Yes.

It would be pretty groovy is Dakorey Johnson would contribute this season. Did a little in the spring game, but not much though.
-
Venables HCIW.
I would pay quite a bit of money to watch Catzacker's reaction if this was ever formally announced.

That will be the determining factor. We all know there is a chance he could be a total wash out. Let's hope not.

Will Geary = Stud. most likely

Venables would be worth a shot, to say the least.

When will it be "announced" as to who will be redshirting this season?

Venables would probably be the only coach that would unite most of the fanbase. gE freaks and studs would like it, and most powertards would be ok with it. Win/win for JC
-
Ethan Calhoun is currently the largest railroad owner in the United States after after merging the steamers of Grande Santa Anna Western with his own North Pacific Transport holdings

Not sure how it compares to years past, but looks like a good group from my opinion.

Has good size. What's he gonna play? looks like he was a QB in HS. Rivals has him listed as an ATH.

Would love Venables and that Silmon guy looks like he could be good.

Derricott is really rough ridin' EMAW.. how good he is at football right now, even the insiderest of insiders don't know.
Might redshirt
A current member of the KSU fball team who is classified as a LB has told me that the plan is for him to RS.

I really can't believe that's true considering what we currently have available at that position
-
Not high level insider info, but 3 of the first 5 commitments of the 2013 class are not on the team anymore. LeAndrew Gordon, Chance Allen, and Isaiah Williams.

That's good but I can't take another year of having the slowest linebackers in the country.

waks and I have had many a conversation about kim carnes (like two, probably). I always argue his upside while waks argues he's a one trick pony. Isn't that interesting? Doesn't that say a lot about our personalities? I don't know, maybe not. But I think it does. (protip: if ever forced to choose, hang out with me, not waks, because I'll probably like you more)

As someone who hangs out with both of these guys, feel free to hang out with both of these guys. They are both v. cool and enjoyable people in their own way.

Both great guys, but Stevesie will definitely be nicer to you for no reason.

Yes, this is true. However, I feel like once waks gets to know you he is v. v. nice the majority of the time. He just likes to mess with people, and people can't tell when he's horsing around.

I liked when he got mad because the Netherlands has the ugliest people ever.

Jeb Drost lost a hand in the civil war. When he returned, the great drought of 1867 ravaged his tobacco crops and he was forced to pack up and move his family west. They tell stories of fertile lands where the soy beans grow above your head and the sun always shines on the coast.
