Title: Coach Weber was funny and very approachable
Post by: meow meow on April 29, 2014, 09:28:22 PM
at the Jayhawk Invitational at Gardner, KS on Friday. I went over to him while watching the Illinois Wolves game and asked if my daughter could get a picture with him. He was signing autographs for a few little boys who were all decked out in beaker garb. He asked one of the kids where he wanted him to sign his beaker hat, and he said under the bill. Weber said so you can't see it? I didn't have any K-State stuff on, but he commented on my purple phone case.

When I first walked into the building (it was late and I snuck in the coaches entrance), I met Brad Underwood in the hallway. I congratulated him on the season and said I missed him in Manhattan. He said "Go EMAW, baby!".

Also said hi to Bill Self, Scott Drew, Steve Henson, and took my daughter's picture with Isiah Austin. He was there watching his old AAU team play (Gotti's Boys, I think). Greg Marshall spent the whole time I was there sitting by himself, a long way from the other coaches, with his head buried in his phone. Must have been playing Candy Crush.

The next day at the spring game I got a pic of my daughter sitting between Marcus Foster and Jevon Thomas, with Wesley also in the picture next to Thomas. Told them I saw the boss at the AAU tournament so they asked me a few questions. They were all very polite young men.

Brad loves us!

He is very approachable.  I mean, he doesn't even notice you're there until you're like, right in his face.

If Greg Marshall was actually playing Candy Crush while all of this was going on, he would be the biggest stud/boss associated with college athletics.

This information kind of flies in the face of this thread.

You didn't happen to run into Tharpe's honey at the Gardner event.   She probably was there checking things out.

Brad isn't going anywhere just yet.  http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/24546713/brad-underwood-to-stay-at-stephen-f-austin. He'll stay at SFA until oscar retires so he can come back home..

I'd bet Self knew exactly where she was...and still does.
