I was driving on 435 last fall around the Swope Park area, and all of a sudden, my passenger window shattered. There was a hole in my passenger side mirror. I assumed that it was a rock that hit the mirror, dislodged it, and broke the glass. Now, I'm not so sure.
This was around the time they started reporting them the first time. It probably was a rock, but you know. I could have been shot at.

I was planning to be there in that parking lot about the time of the shooting but got delayed long enough to miss everything. My Wife and I are there with our son almost everyday but never thought about it being a target.
Most people probably don't realize how bad it could have been. The building itself is pretty secure, but not that particular entrance. He could have easily walked through the doors and into the theater which was full of kids because of auditions for a play and a talent competition. It would have been reminiscent of Aurora.
I'm assuming there will be some major security changes coming.

I was planning to be there in that parking lot about the time of the shooting but got delayed long enough to miss everything. My Wife and I are there with our son almost everyday but never thought about it being a target.
Most people probably don't realize how bad it could have been. The building itself is pretty secure, but not that particular entrance. He could have easily walked through the doors and into the theater which was full of kids because of auditions for a play and a talent competition. It would have been reminiscent of Aurora.
I'm assuming there will be some major security changes coming.
What about the security kept it from being worse?

Given that and what he just did, there is going to be a big crowd of white dumbasses waiting to be his cheering section in any prison he makes it to.

Nothing about the security kept it from being worse. There's no real security on that entrance so I'm just glad he didn't decide to enter the building.
I'll be there Wednesday (tomorrow is passover) so it will be interesting to see if they have added security at each entrance.

The shooter, Glenn Miller, has been fascinating to me for some time. In 2010 I visited Kansas City with my family. At about 2 in the morning possibly earlier, my 1 year old daughter couldn't sleep. so instead of having her wake up the entire house I took her for a drive to put her to sleep, while driving I heard these two ads back to back on the radio.

I was driving home from Chicago when I heard about the JCC, I have a mentor that works there so that was tough, when I heard who did it I was very surprised and remembered him immediately from the radio ads.

If you really want to get deep into it, if you consider it crazy to hate you also have to consider it crazy to love. Just different sides of the spectrum, if you buy into that philosophy.
But as far as this shooting, i'm betting on just plain crazy. Considering the haphazardness of the plot and terrible execution.

Police chief basically said the officers asked him to surrender and he did.
