Let's say you were a KU football fan. Think of the day they hired Weis. You knew it was going to be a dumpster fire.
Do you A) hope for the best, or B) go to burn it down day one?
The AD is to blame for the hire. Why support a guaranteed failure?
The only difference here is that oscar wildly exceeded expectations in year one, which bought him some slack from a large portion of the base here. This recent stretch probably buys more...at least for me it does.
But if it goes wrong, and I'm done with him, I'll be the first with the gas and matches. No one gets unconditional support form me. Not even Snyder.

Webers's history at Illinois is obviously odd, but trying to recruit at Illinois is like living in a gold mine with only a spoon; all the riches in the world are right there but they're nearly impossible to get. Groce's recruiting is nearly identical at this point. Weber will do well at KSU since he'll be forced to recruit nationally and won't have to kowtow to the insane Chicago bb underworld constantly.
