Clams, et. al., have you found any place in KC that serves Mexican "Street" style tacos?
Such as this...

Just had 'em a couple of weeks ago in Lawrence during the first round. :lick:
Seems like I've had them somewhere in KC, but I'm forgetting where.
Yes, in southwest KS.THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION THAT MAY DECIDE WHERE I GO TO GRAD SCHOOL
are there ANY good Mexican food places in KS at all? The places I went to in Lawrence kinda sucked.
<-------Mexican food snob who grew up on delicious Tex-Mex and New Mexican food
<-------Also ate delicious tamales in Juarez* while being shot at by drug lords*
*one of these things is true :surprised:
(meaning most white people won't like it).
If it tastes good it's authentically delicious. If that happens to be "authentic mexican" or if it happens to be chipotle it's all the same imm(outh's)o.
side note: People in Michigan are obsessed with eating the "most authentic" Mexican. They have no idea what that means (neither do I, honestly), but it's pretty funny to hear them talk about it. And then every Mexican restaurant, even if it's staffed entirely by white people and sells nothing but gross burritos with a ton of sour cream, claims to be "authentic".
There's actually this one horrible burrito place that has an add at a gas station that shows them getting burrito ingredients loaded onto "Mexican express" (which is like fed ex) in the square in front of the Mexican Capitol. I'll take a pic next time I'm there.
are there a lot of mexi-americans in michigan?

Just switch your priorities, go to New Mexico State and have all the delicious green chiles and mexican food you want. Not necessarily a great educational choice but a smart one if you like food :dunno:
Anyone know of any on southwest blvd or westportish area, besides Cancun that LSOC noted?
Jose peppers is good, just ate there sunday

Almost forgot! One of my favorite blogs just did an item on a Mexican place in Shawnee: La Chihuahua. Looks like they've got the tacos in question: http://www.kclunchspots.com/2010/03/la-chihuahua-7769-quivira-rd.html (http://www.kclunchspots.com/2010/03/la-chihuahua-7769-quivira-rd.html)

Across from the westport beach club place that is next to Beaumont. I think it is called "cancun"
has excellent street tacos. Wife and I have eaten there probably 30 times. They let you take unlimited containers of 3 kinds of salsa.
michigancat made me go to some super authentic mexican fish taco place in Las Vegas at the food court at NYNY at what seemed like 6AM.

I need to make it down there before it closes ... like Relish did before I got to try a hot dog there.
no. i bet they were white though, i felt like one review was written by my grandmother (i'm white, she's white).
the only tacos they have are deep fat fried crunchy ones, like Margaritas sells. i realized this after finding the menu online and backed out, made tacos at home. i'm sure i'll eat there soon.no. i bet they were white though, i felt like one review was written by my grandmother (i'm white, she's white).
