i wonder how often this actually occurs in our modern age? is there ANY circumstance under which you'd even attempt to arrest someone else?

Pretty sure that a Citizen's Arrest is the best way to start out if you plan to put the whole system on trial.   :dunno:

When we were 18 I could have arrested Limestone for Statutory rape like 4 or 5 times a week.

Never mind, age of consent in Kansas is 16.  He would have sued my ass for false arrest!

Sounds like we're good!!  Just as long as no booze or cigarettes were used in the process.

If you are a 3rd party to the event, don't lay a finger on anyone involved unless you like getting sued the crap out of.

Beyond that, if someone is Zimmermaning your ass, you do what needs done.

Are we talking pretty adorbs here? or blue haired, get off my lawn old lady?

Yeah you can take off and wallop the guy, but you aren't afforded any legal protection for doing so.

I've been involved in this twice.   both times we caught and held him untilo police arrive.   Last incident was 10 years or so ago, don't know that I'd do it today with the way things have changed.
