hasn't it been known that he wouldn't be eligible first semester since, like, he committed?

Now that we are closer, how many games will we lose to puds with Sprads at point?

squawks are acting weird about this.

@curtiskitchen why no tweets about Jevon Thomas?
Curtis Kitchen ?@curtiskitchen 1m
Because it's extremely old news that he'd play mid-year. RT @RockChalkBlog: @curtiskitchen why no tweets about Jevon Thomas?

yeah. it's been talked about and referenced probably somewhere around 100 times here. maybe more.

KU fans playing Gotcha with Curtis. Watch out, Curtis!
-
Kitchen mushed them like a big time pro musher. Like, Gotlieb level
-
heck, beems (KU poster) even brought this up like six months ago
Fitz was saying Foster might split time at the pg/sg position next year. Called him a "combo guard." He also said that Jevon Thomas is a partial qualifier and won't be eligible to play until 2nd semester. That's why I've got Johnson/Foster splitting time in my projected starting rotation.
:dunno:
-
To be fair, Beems seems to hand here as much as anywhere else.
-
Guessing by the thread title that ol' Sprac knew this was old news. He's a pretty good poster.

also there are dumbass k-stater(o)s saying "Not good!" and crap like that on twitter so it seems to be universal.

To be fair, their was some disagreement here on just when JT could start playing. I went with the Bill Walker model of mid-December with the end of the first semester, but others insisted it would be with the start of the second semester in January.
-
To be fair, the end of the first semester has always been when kids that are ineligible for a semester start playing, so ppl that thought it would be the beginning of the second semester are dumbasses.

He has to complete another semester of school work. Semester ends on the Dec 14th.

I was one of those dumbasses because JT is an unusual case as he his mid year academic instead of the usual mid year transfer type. I can't recall a similar situation and was just going with the worst case.
my guess is at least 3 losses before JT is playing, could be 4 depending on how the PR tourny breaks. Weber had some horrible noncon losses once Bill's guys were gone from Illinois and the tuck meltdown when we lose to South Dakota or Troy is one of the few things I am looking forward to this season.

Possible GTown score comparos!
Tim, you gonna go to the CU game?
Should be a great game with it being the first game on an opponents home court for this young Hawk squad.
-
Imagine that, a good basketball program playing a slightly above average non-conference schedule, with exactly one tough true away game.
Colorado matches up horribly to KU.
Wake Forest sucks.

I don't want to argue, but many analysts claim that's the toughest non-con in the country this year.

I don't disagree with a number of schools dumbing down their schedules just like football.
But K-State could play Georgetown, and will play Ole Miss and Gonzoga in the non-conference, and while it is October 2nd, and thus still football season for me and I haven't really looked at that closely. But on the surface Tulane, UNC-C, George Washington, Long Beach St. and Oral Roberts appear to be decent competition as well.
Has anyone seen Tom "WuShuck" Light aka Deep Nylon and Spracne in the same room at the same time, and if so, were they actually two people?

 oscar is traditionally very good at not dropping games to lesser team in non-con. If you are going to take shot at him, take one that makes sense.

KU's non-con next year includes Duke, Florida, Georgetown, New Mexico, San Diego State, etc. If you're trying to imply that KU's non-con schedules have traditionally been poor, that's just simply not true.

No, Spracne/Deep Nylon/Tom Light implying that K-State's schedule is a cake walk all the way through. It isn't.
-
FALLACY. Everyone has tough basketball scheduling and easy basketball scheduling ass backwards. There are three thing you want on a basketball resume for March. Good wins, Zero bad losses and a high RPI. You know what helps you have good wins and avoid bad losses? Playing good teams and avoiding playing bad teams.

I said no such thing! I just think that in late December, many KSU fans will look at the record and think, "Hey, that's not too shabby!" If we played your schedule, there would be a few games I would consider potential trap games. With our schedule, there are at least 3 games I feel we could easily lose. Our schedule this year is tougher than yours, I don't think that needs to be argued. Deal with it :don'tcare:
p.s. You got me, TomLight in the flesh(light). When I'm not running the Phog (which is all the time), I like to hang up my spurs at gE.

I just think that in late December, many KSU fans will look at the record and think, "Hey, that's not too shabby!"
Regardless of the record, me and most of the KSU fans I associate with will be saying "lol, we suck" and the others will be saying "we're gonna be great, especially now with Will getting to play shooting guard."

Finally done playing out of position. Will's career should be judged on the last semester of his last year, rather than the previous 7 semesters because of that damn need to play him out of position. He is a saint. One that sacrificed his own development into an elite shooting guard for the betterment of the team that needed him.

Will has a serious problem, he is god awful at catching and shooting. But on the other hand he is very good at shooting off the bounce but lacks the ball handling skills to be effective. He has inadequate skill set for this level, most likely he will look amazing at playing mid-majors at the point. But we all know he is going to completely fall off. He has been college far too long to suddenly become an elite shooter coming off screens.

Pretty sure Will has been role playing this whole time. Happy to back into the shadows and be the step up his teammates need to reach that next level by giving of himself so they can have more. This year, however, is his to shine and climb. Aim at the stars because even if you miss, you may hit the moon(Will is the moon).

I want the most pud schedule possible this year. In fact, the pud scheduling is oscar's best move in recent memory.

Not to mention most, if not all of the games were set before KSU hired the Ricin of coaches.

this is news, you dumbasses. they appealed the (original) 2nd semester rule. his appeal was denied.

i give a eff about calling people dumbasses.

To be fair, the end of the first semester has always been when kids that are ineligible for a semester start playing, so ppl that thought it would be the beginning of the second semester are dumbasses.
Weber had some horrible noncon losses once Bill's guys were gone from Illinois and the tuck meltdown when we lose to South Dakota or Troy is one of the few things I am looking forward to this season.
 oscar is traditionally very good at not dropping games to lesser team in non-con. If you are going to take shot at him, take one that makes sense.

Congrats at finding three losses in 7 years. To be fair though UI-C and Tenn State both were really really bad teams those two years.
WTF? Three losses like that in 6 seasons is a bunch, how many of those are okag with you? Its okay to admit you are wrong or just STFU when you get mushed.
-
This time off will just give JV more time to keep coming to K-State football games, to make him more comfortable with the coming season

mixed has been painting the board with a lot of koolaid lately. i'm afraid i don't recall if he did the same during previous administrations, so i don't know what context to place him in.

I don't believe anyone thought that appeal had a chance.

The only hope would be that Thomas is so good that the committee overlooks any OOC losses because we didn't have him.
That seems unlikely to me.

Oh good. Now I at least know to switch to hard liquor while watching quatzketball games this winter.

You honestly don't know the difference between these lists? I don't know the team who lost to the second list but I know enough about college basketball to know that those 3 mid majors listed were very good programs.

He better effin start against Gonzaga - don't care if ready or not.

It was bad enough that oscar recruited him in the first place, but man, at least run him off in time to get a replacement.

You guys are weird.

So, room for Eric Cobb?
Cobb played in summer ball circuit that had a lot of people I know in the same cities/venues. The across the board consensus (while playing high major competitions): He's good
-
Krap
-
We have four commits and three open spots. Any word on the rumors of Cobb reclassifying?
