Title: Worst Company in America
Post by: Rage Against the McKee on March 19, 2013, 01:43:21 PM
Last year, the winner of the Worst Company in America tournament was Electronic Arts. Who do you think makes the final four this year?

Does this decide #2 behind Monsanto?

I don't think enough people even know who Monsanto is to put them in a bracket like this for small timey website. In my mind, the front runners for the final four are probably EA, Bank of America, Carnival, and Comcast.

I would vote for them, but I imagine butthurt video game players would still vote EA over them.

That's a mumped up bracket.  They put competitors too close to each other, IMO.

I bet everyone that votes in this poll uses at least 8 of those companies products.

and wtf is wrong with Paypal?
Title: Re: Worst Company in America

Paypal is owned by ebay, or visa versa.  So like settling fraudulent ebay stuff is a real PITA.  Almost always they settle with the vendor since they are of more value to ebay than the customer.

Yes, I was disappointed by that. I really think they were probably just thrown in there to make Spirit look worse. Spirit is going to get like 90% of that vote most likely.

yeah, tons of rubes get butthurt about airlines and their delays and whatnot. mainly because people are rough ridin' idiots. AA and United would probably be number 1 seeds in my Best Boss Stud Company bracket. Spirit probably legitimately deserves to be on the list though.

Did they just randomly choose 64 companies in the S&P 500?

You could make the argument this bracket is for the most successful company in America.

Well, they are associated with 11 Superfund sites. That's pretty impressive given that the company who will probably end up winning makes video games and pisses off video game players. This "Monsanto is evil and owns your soul" line of thought is pretty over the top, though.

You could make the argument this bracket is for the most successful company in America.

Also, JCP, Sears, and Best Buy will probably all be bankrupt within 10 years, so I wouldn't say that every company on the list would be on a bracket for most successful company in America.

People just love hating on Walmart. It should move past those other retailers fairly easily. I don't think people hate Walmart nearly as much as the banks, though.

Did you hear about the plot to rig global interest rates? The $137 million fine for bilking needy schools and cities? The ingenious plan to suck multiple fees out of the unemployment checks of jobless workers? Take your eyes off them for 10 seconds and guaranteed, they'll be into some crap again: This bank is like the world's worst-behaved teenager, taking your car and running over kittens and fire hydrants on the way to Vegas for the weekend, maxing out your credit cards in the three days you spend at your aunt's funeral. They're out of control, yet they'll never do time or go out of business, because the government remains creepily committed to their survival, like overindulgent parents who refuse to believe their 40-year-old live-at-home son could possibly be responsible for those dead hookers in the backyard.

I hate that apple moves their compatibility along in waves, but when I got an iPhone 5 that wouldn't sync up with my 4 year old MacBook, I called them and they sent me the new software for free. Gained major points in my book.

Douche bags were supposed to transfer over the cable on Thursday to the new house. Kept telling us they'd be here at a certain time the last 4 days and never came. Several phone calls later and calling them out on Twitter and I have to be late to work tomorrow just to have them finally install everything. My fam thought we'd be hooked up to watch the game during the move, but we had to watch the game on my phone. They lied and probably broke near 10 appointments in the last 4 days. Woof!
