I don't know if you all saw this but Coach Ratface had to stop the old Duke student section from storming the court after the #2 team in the country beat an unranked UNC team. What a bunch of idiots.

duke is k-state's sister school, so, no. thread fail. i expected way more from you gc, way more.
-
Rushing the court is fun. Everyone should do it once.
-
props to the students for not allowing their eliteness get in the way of some college fun.
-
I think if KU wouldn't have trounced us they rush the court if they win by a last second shot.
-
The typical KU hoops fan (which I guess is the only type there is) is such a weird mix of arrogance, envy and insecurity.
-

Sorry to disappoint. Watching the video again it may not be students rushing the court, but rather media members and coach K, being senial, thought the game was not over. Who knows.
-
I hate people who get butthurt about people rushing the court/tearing down goalposts. grumpy fun hating old balls dorks.
-

No envy or insecurity here. Arrogance? Probably some, can't deny that. I just think if you are going to be a top flight program who is always competing for titles you should not storm the court. Leave that to Sandstormin student sections.
-
ACT LIKE YOU'VE BEEN THERE!
what's the benefit to this? it's less fun. gets you less time on sports highlights. less partying.

Yes because Duke always has to worry about being in sports highlights. Are you kidding me?

yeah, didn't look like students.

ok, what's the benefit to not? I'm not kidding anyone here btw. I rough ridin' hate old dorks who complain about students having fun.

pretty obvious it wasn't the students.
-
how fun is not storming the court? I mean, do you just sit there and party quietly inside your mind by yourself in your seat? EVERYONE COME LOOK HOW HARD I'M NOT STORMING THE COURT!
-
Man, elite poster Pissclams showed me an old ticket stub he had from attending a North Carolina-Duke game. I was super jels.
-
Out of the four basketball bluebloods of Duke, NC, Kentucky, and UCLA, Duke is my favorite.
-
Also, storming the court/field is super elite and fun. This is why KU Football fans do it after every win. It's been awhile since they could do it though. T's & P's.
-
we partied pretty hard in the stands after beating texas in hoops when they were #1.
-

That list just isn't complete without Indiana, Arizona and Michigan State. Add those three and I might consider it as a complete list of college basketball's "bluebloods."

Would consider adding Uconn. Can't think of any other elite programs.

Two good posts here.
As someone who suffered through the 1st four years of Tan Tom, and zero big wins, I say storm the court every chance you get.

Indiana's resurgence has helped keep them in the blueblood convo, I am not sure Uconn will be able to stay.
I think to be a blue blood you need to be a basketball first culture and need multiple NCs; even better if won by multiple coaches. I am no expert on MSU, but they seem to still be a football first school (I don't mean this a slight to MSU - they are one of my favorite big 10 schools)

I don't want to get too generous here, but Temple had some reaaallly good years under John Chaney. Maybe they deserve a spot on the list.
-
You have to give Duke fans credit where credit is due. Chanting "how's your grandma?" at a NC State player whose grandma just passed away was one of the finest trolling attempts I have seen from a student section in years.
Duke is that ex-girlfriend that keeps stopping by your place when you have clearly moved on. You want to get far from that beast (duke/ex-girlfriend) but ESPN will make sure you will be watching the Vitale/Bilas/Coach K three way Handy J.
-
have KU fans ever stormed the court? I don't recall them ever doing it the whole time I've been on this Earth. I mean what a bunch of spoiled pussies

Not that I can ever recall. Don't have to storm the court when you expect to win most of the time.

Rushing the field/court is one of the better experiences of my life. I feel sorry for your whole fanbase
-
ksu fans tore down ku's goalposts. that's basically scoreboard on anything that ever has or will happen between the two schools. ksu wins. wouldn't have happened if ksu fans had acted like they'd been there or ku fans had a tiny little amount of balls to stop ksu fans.
-
sd is knocking it out of the park here.
ku fingerpointers are boorish, boring, and probably smell bad . . . oh and they seem like they're really mad all the time, and the only thing that makes them happy is ku basketball, which is why many of them are ready to commit suicide after a loss or two.
Sad, really

-
I think Arizona has really stepped their game up in regards to being named along with the other blue bloods. They are still probably a step below UNC, Duke, Kentucky and UCLA though.

I think the fans should do whatever makes them happiest. so, in general, very much in favor of storming the court/field because in almost all instances that is more fun than not.
-
next time a ku player gets hurt I am storming the court because it will make me happy
-
My favorite phog bball threads are the court storming ones. There is a new thread for each instance, just to keep everyone informed. Last week with everyone in the top 5 losing and being stormed on twice in a row REALLY put them over the edge.
-
We need a storm the court decision tree.

no - don't
I would take it one step farther and maybe add in an "are you sure?" after "no".
Have stormed both field and court and def would do both again.

ku fans rarely enjoy wins, its why i was happy for them on Monday night. They enjoyed that one.
Games ku fans have enjoyed under bill self:
any win against KSU or Missouri
the two tourney wins against Roy
national championship in 2008
Other than those they just feel not angry/sad when they win.
-
I believe some KU fans stormed the court against Texas in the early 2000s under Roy and the rest of their shitty fans booed them. They always give the "act like you've been there before" line, but they've beat us in football before (lead the series if you haven't heard) yet they still rush the field. KU fans are really weird.
-
Remember when KU stormed the field after beating a #22 GT team that went like, 6-6 that year?

Tearing down goalposts is best when done by opposing fans after winning a roadie... amirite??

Kinda OT here but I just realized Duke has been to a bowl game more recently than KU.
:surprised:
-
How many fake championships do they claim? More or less than the clown birds?
-
Why is everyone talking about Kansas in this thread? Keep the discussion to only blue blood schools. TIA.
Yours truly,
k_m

KU fans' butthurt over Duke is fascinating.

KU fans' butthurt over Duke is fascinating.
it's not just duke. it's UK, UCLA, IU and UNC. they have huge inferiority complexes towards those 5.
-
The way I look at it is if I were a player I wouldn't want a bunch of rando losers trying to touch and grab on me in an attempt to horn in on my great success. You stay the eff in your area when you cheer for what I just did.
-
the duke hate from ku is soooooooooo overplayed.

I wouldn't put UCLA in there. I'm not even jealous of that school, other than the location and women. Athletics wise, I think we know who has the most success... :ksu:
-
10 titles gets brought up as a sham at least once a day.
-
GCJayhawker, we had a poll on this very subject last year and voted Duke as Bluest of the Blue Bloods. I don't think those results would change a bit in a new poll.
http://goEMAW.com/forum/index.php?topic=18140.0
Only thing I would change about that poll today is add Indiana, they're clearly back in the mix. Probably remove Connecticut too.
-
Yeah UConn is mumped.

Oh the women. God bless UCLA women.
-
There's nothing funnier than to read a ku fan complain about how UCLA "bought" their championships . . . it's like they don't even know their own basketball history.

ku fans are blissfully unaware of who pioneered hiring parent of basketball recruits as a means of getting them on the Lawrence campus.

Well, take it back years before, with the so called "godfathers" and think about Wilt wheeling his way out of Lawrence to KCMO in his ku bought 1956 Oldsmobile convertable. Nothing wrong with it, but don't complain others "bought" success . . . particularly when your current coach's BFF is ku's version of Nevin Shapiro.

Video of bright-eyed KU students joyfully storming the court while the announcers clutch their pearls and the old tucks blow out their O-rings in a boo frenzy.

rushing the field after we beat UT in 06 or whenever was one of the most fun things ever.

Until KSU-Xavier, that was the best basketball game I'd ever seen. Collison was incredible.

no one at Duke ever thinks about KU. Literally never.

Ya, if I was a Duke fan I wouldn't really feel threatened by KU.
-
Mike krzyzewski, pud coach. Saying his team wasn't protected after losing and the court storming. The entire wall of yellow jacketed officials wasn't enough security to him.
-
Coach K needs to tell his team to quit losing on the road.
-
remember when bill said the same thing after beasley beat them?
-
Excited to see
Kevin Durant Ryan Kelly return from the most overhyped injury in the history of college basketball. So tired of hearing and reading the media treating a guy who wasn't even considered for pre season conference honors like he's a first ballot hall of famer.
-
I always hear KU fans bitch about Duke and complain about the calls they get, but the refs so far in this game have been really good. Stop play while Duke has the ball due to Miami player injured? Never would happen in Allen. Big white Duke guy flops? No call. 100% of the time in Allen it's a foul.
Holy crap, Kadji posterized Kelly.
-
Kelly is going off, duke is still losing

He has 19 points in the first half. Stud.

Miami won't make the sweet 16. Ryan Kelly takes Duke to a whole different level

This is great.
-
What can I say, Ryan Kelly was amazing, I mean the guy had the game of a lifetime after sitting out two months. WOW! Very KD like.
Well now we know that Miami still would have beat Duke in Coral Gables even if they had Kelly. Miami is obviously better they will win the ACC outright and beat Duke in the ACC Tournament. The Canes are very good.
-
I despise egotistical Duke. I want them to lose, badly. Cheating scum. Nike paid Daddy Bagley to start a AAU team featuring Bagley jr. Shortly thereafter Bagley sr has a new house
Nike provides shoes to Duke.

Worse than Louisville whoregate.
