Yeah, everyone I've talked to today is very optimistic that Romney is going to beat Obama by nearly as much as Reagan beat Carter. I just respond with "I don't know. I think it's going to be awwfully close."

What are the gun laws like up there? I don't want to have to wait more than a couple days to buy a handgun and I need the freedom to shop for shotguns while I'm picking up groceries, a tv, some socks, getting my haircut, and grabbing some Subway.

Guns laws in Canada are more conservative than liberals in the USA will lead you to believe, but not surprisingly their gun laws are far more restrictive than they are here. Frankly the gun laws are confusing because they have so many laws mandating what type of gun, gun accessories, and license types are legal.

Best meltdown I've heard so far. Love the bragging about firing people simply because Romney lost. He did finish with good but obvious points about social policy. I never heard this dude before today. He later went on to say "we should just give California to all of the Mexicans" he also said "cubans are a higher class of hispanic" because they vote republican in higher numbers. He's entertaining as hell.

Towards the end of the night, after the live voters show up...they just go down the list of empty names and start filling in signatures, filling in ballots, and popping them in the machines...they just need to know how many votes they need.

It's good times.
I've been living in North Dakota for the past 3 years and the meltdowns here have been epically awesome. To be fair, most of the people I work with aren't from North Dakota either. I was always told by movies that the whole US would be represented in a military unit, that I'd have a buddy I'd call Brooklyn, only one named Tex, someone from Albuquerque- that sort of thing . Turns out that's not quite true, and most are male white born agains from the South or garbage parts of the Midwest. Real, bona fide good ol' boys. Their post election butt hurt has been nothing short of comic gold. People who have college degrees, some with masters degrees- people who are otherwise pretty smart, have talked about liquidating a portion of their assets and throwing everything into assault rifles, gold, and ammunition. Although, who knows, if enough of them go out and buy them, maybe that is where the smart money is.
It's been just as hilarious seeing the locals and oil people freak out over the senate race.
