Protip: never look at a picture of what a kidney stone looks like under a microscope. Note: I fully.expect (and encourage) most of you to google that immediately.

When I got out of school I got a job and due to the social constructs of the company I was influenced to eat out at unhealthy places almost every day.  Would drink a lot of Coke, and then would drink a lot of beer.  Also a lot of red meat.  So I got kidney stones, had a bout morning after a wedding in Kiowa, KS.  Luckily they had an ER.  I've never begged someone to stick a needle in me like that before (hate needles).  Anyway, I've drastically reduced my consumption of soft drinks.  Also reduced the red meat consumption.  Beer drinking is also reduced but I focused less on that.  Haven't had another bout yet.  Praying I never will.

I got one while driving back from a football game in 2009 and had to pull over just outside of Manhattan cuz I thought I was gonna throw up from the pain.  Hurt like crazy on and off for a week until I passed it and mine was a pretty small one.

I think the acidy stuff in the lemon juice breaks them down before they start or whatever.

You left out the best part where as you were rolling around in the ditch next to K-18 your brother was using his hands to make a drinking movement and pointing at you as cars were driving by.

You guys should selectively breed to enhance this trait. Your grand children may be able to cast walls of stone from their peens. You are the next phase in human evolution. I'm sure you already thought of that though.

Kidney Stones

Kidney stones are caused by a buildup of calcium in the body. Hop supplements can help reduce your body’s level of calcium and prevent the formation of these painful stones.

Have you ever walked around the back of a truck and hit the trailer hitch with your shin?  Take this, x10, inside your lower abdominal for however long it takes to get to the hospital.  That's the best way I have of describing the pain.

When I was 4 my dad got his first one.  It's one of my first memories.  I remember taking him to the hospital.  He honestly thought one of his organs failed/ruptured and might be dying.

When I had mine we thought it might have been an appendicitis or kidney stone.  My mom told me after she was hoping for appendicitis so it would be a one time thing and be over.

Does the pain radiate around your flank to your lower back? Does it shoot down your leg? Is there pain during urination? Blood in urine?

I just passed one 3 days ago (my 4th). Pain was just average this time but it took like a month to pass it.

Also I drink a ton of water, and don't drink soda as instructed in 2012 so yeah there's nothing you can do apparently.

Depending on the type of stone, there are treatments to decrease your risk of growing more of these. You should talk to your doctor about it.

Also, hope you have a good recovery and are feeling better, ASAP.
