I find it funny that the media is trying to paint Ryan as an ultra right-winger when he has won 7 of 7elections in a democrat district that hasn't voted for a republican president since '84.

Welp America, the choice is yours.

A sociopathic demagogue with the moral turpitude of a cracked out street rat and an objective failure, and a moron.

v.

A successful businessman and the ONLY person in Congress with a plan to tackle the absurd deficit.

Will lies and demagoguery defeat honesty and vision? Less than 3 months to find out.  :USA:

I find it funny that the media is trying to paint Ryan as an ultra right-winger when he has won 7 of 7elections in a democrat district that hasn't voted for a republican president since '84.

Quote
A swing district, George W. Bush carried the district in 2004 with 53% of the vote but the district narrowly voted for Barack Obama over John McCain in 2008, 51.40-47.45%.

Romney just selected a guy that can't read his own Wiki page. Notice how his seat has been occupied by a Republican for the last 18 years. I think Bush actually carried the district in 2000 as well but couldn't find a link to it.

The last time the STATE went to the GOP was 1984, however. That doesn't change the fact that Ryan's district is mostly rural with no major urban center that makes it a swing district that trends Republican.

Ryan is a RINO . . . he's voted for some huge ticket items, including the largest expansion of the Welfare State in U.S. history.

He's also never met a war spending bill he didn't support.

What a mess on both sides of the coin.

Both Sides:

War Lovers-Check

Big Government-Check

Corporate Cleptocracy/Croony Capitalism-Check

Massive Police State Expansion-Check

Looks like its going to boil down to Tax Return Gate and a few ancillary un-meangingful social issues.   Perfect fare for the Kool-Aid drinkers.

RR will lie about doing more things I like.  Obammer lies about stuff I don't care about as much.  This seems like the best way to pick a president IMO.

Wait, are people seriously arguing that Romney isn't a successful businessman?  Or that he deserves no credit for it?  The best thing about Romney is that he is rough ridin' elite at being a businessman, like one of the best in the world.  It blows my mind that Romney gets knocked for being super-successful.  Guess some people would rather have an everyman who was average at his job.  (All that said, I don't care for Romney)
Title: Re: Paul Ryan

I think people are arguing that his success was highly correlated to his father's success. While I'm sure his father (and his background) played a major role getting him into the Harvard JD/MBA program, he did pretty well compared to his peers.

This seems to be a pretty big discrepancy. Romney says defense requires 4% of GDP while Ryan's Budget says that money spent on education, unemployment insurance, food stamps, environmental protection, infrastructure investment, the NIH, the FDA, the FAA, the FBI, veterans benefits and Defense can cost no more than 3.75 percent of GDP.

if the freedom caucus was going to cave, why wouldn't they have caved prior to the vote?  it seems like there will have to be at least face-saving modifications made to get it across the line.  maybe real changes.
