A high school coach who coached against both said Semi's game reminded him of Nino's. I don't see it. When I saw him, Semi didn't really like to mix it up inside or rebounds or post moves. He also had a much better 3 point shot.

Remember what oscar said about why things went wrong in Champaign...that he started reaching for talent rather than relying on guys that were good "fit" with his philosophy. Why that answer did not immediately eliminate him from contention, I'll never understand.

I mean if Illinois had landed a consensus national top 5 guy from Chicago like that and he turned out to be kind of shitty his freshman year that would have been so perfect I'm actually shocked it didn't happen.

I just don't see him going to another blue blood school. Playing time is likely more of an issue at those schools compared to a K-State, Mizzou, Wichita State, etc.
The fact that we haven't even contacted him yet is laughable though.

He would never have seen the court at Duke. Sticking it out would've been stupid.

Also, more schools would have available scholarship spots at that point, which would give him more transfer options. Most importantly he could've played a full two years wherever he transferred. Instead, he's going to have to enter the rotation in the spring and likely end up splitting minutes with whoever carried his position through the nonconference in his junior season. He will only get to own his position for his senior year. It's unfortunate a highly touted recruit like Semi will be left with so little on court experience leaving college IMO.

I don't really think him leaving a semester early will be an issue. Schools are going to make room for a 5 star transfer with ridiculous upside, so scholarship availability shouldn't be a problem. A half semester at a different school is likely going to be more beneficial than a half semester at Duke sitting on the bench doing nothing, too.

Yesterday was hell! I sat on my little purple rocking chair by the Christmas tree, bawling, sucking my thumb, and drinking purple hooch. The last time I was this upset was when my brothers tried to convinve me Santa wore a red suit instead of a purple one and his sleigh is pulled by Jayhawkbirds. My despair lifted when reno sweets yelled for me to come get a steak and taters. Now I am just Semi-sad.
