I'm going to tell you the same thing I told the comedian at that strip joint in Reno... I'm not here for the jokes.

J.D.'s Inner Monologue: Wait, is she in to me? Quick, make a bad joke and see if she laughs.
J.D.: Did you hear the one about the skeleton who couldn't go to the party? He had no body to go with.
Neena: That's really funny!
J.D.'s Inner Monologue: Well that's not a fair test - that joke's hilarious.
J.D.: Luckily, I think it's benign.
Janitor: Benign, benign and a half.

:barf: literally every single CBS comedy is shitty, its like they have a pact with ABC & NBC to give them all of the good comedies as long as they don't make a CSI knock off.

Scrubs is a terrible show. I'm not surprised that stevesie likes it.

Can't say that I have one, My Overkill, the first episode of season two is my favorite episode. So I assume that you can tell that my nightly quotes seen currently second season quotes?

Favorite part of any episode is in season four when he's dating Kylie but Heather Graham comes back into town. The way it's directed at the end of it with the speeding up and slowing down is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
I started rewatcing the first season tonight. Knocked out 9 episodes. I like it a lot more than I remember. It used to be a lot more emotional, and then became more and more goofy, except for towards the end of season 5. That was an amazing stretch.

Zach Braff directed that episode. I agree it's great. I think the first two seasons have better/more subtle jokes and that they started getting too goofy in my middle to late seasons. Season 8 is really good though.

Yeah I lied, season 8 is absolutely my favorite, there's so much to like about it. Eliza Coupe is the hilarious, her Twitter timeline is filthy BTW. Also love Gooch & Lady. Ed & Sunny Day! My ABC's could challenge My Overkill for my favorite episode. Yeah season 8 is the best. Season 9, woof.

My Screw Up is the best episode to me. I mean, the first time i saw it. wow.

also, i'm going to watch every episode again and then give my favorite episodes. Probably Top 5 per season and then figure it out in the end.

First big one that I remember was Carrot Top. Absolutely hilarious. I love it when celebrities make fun of themselves. Gary Busey did it later (season 5?) too.

Season One
WARNING: SPOILERS!
I wanted to just do a top 5 list, but I couldn't narrow it down; The season is THAT good. The top 3 episodes are very close, with little drop off to the others. As you will be able to tell after reading the list, endings are very important to me....so that may skew my list a bit. Season 1 is just hilarious throughout, much more consistent than some other seasons, imo. The fantasies are great. There are some issues with continuity in relation to other seasons, but that's expected and they're generally minor details.
So here's my list, with a brief description and commentary after each episode. I also added the episode number after the name, just for reference. Criticisms and thoughts are welcome!!
1. My Occurence/My Hero (E22/23)- These were actually two episodes, but i'll just group them since they both focused on Jordan's brother Ben(played by Brendan Fraser, who is probably my favorite guest star in the series). The ending in My Occurence, where JD doesn't know what is real and what is a daydream, was outstanding. Combined with the music, just great stuff. Also, The first "Eagle!" was in this episode, as well as the first appearance of The Blanks.
2. My Fifteen Minutes (E08) - JD gets evaluated. Almost was my #1 episode. Dr. Cox's evaluation speech of JD was outstanding, then later recommending him to the board. Two classic fantasies as well: Batman & Robin, The Pro Wrestler.
3. My Bed Banter and Beyond (E15) - Unique storytelling of JD and Elliot's hookup, using different timelines and through a Documentary type style. The way they edited the ending was great....and Dr. Cox with another good speech/rant. Characters took front stage, instead of the hospital/medicine.
4. My Bad (E06) - JD hooks up with Jordan; Dr. Cox is suspended. The ending with Dr. Cox looking through old pictures of his marriage, combined with the music...outstanding. (The video of her in the dress was from her actual wedding, btw. She's married to the series creator, Bill Lawrence)
5. My Blind Date (E12) - JD decides to ask out girl without seeing what she looks like; Turk tells Carla he loves her; Dr. Cox/Elliot's perfect game attempt. Nice cliffhanger at the end, not knowing what the girl looks like. Also nice twist making everyone think Turk was going to break up with Carla, only to say "I love You." Also, the scene with Dr. Cox and Elliot trying to save the patient in the bottom of the ninth was outstanding. I might be underrating this episode actually...
6. My Last Day (E24) - Season Finale; Jordan blows everything up. Feel good episode turns into chaos when Jordan reveals everyone's secrets. Nice finale episode. Great song to end as well.
7. My Best Friend's Mistake (E03) - JD & Elliot try to get with each other; Turk closes his 1st surgery. An Erasure song featured throughout the episode. Just hilarious overall, start to finish.
8. My Two Dads (E05) - Dr. Kelso & Dr. Cox fight over JD. Another hilarious episode overall, includes two classic fantasies: Family Feud "Show me Boobs!" and the Wonder Years scene.
9. My Old Lady (E04) - Turk, Elliot, JD each have a patient die. This episode probably should be higher, however it just doesn't do anything for me anymore. First time viewing is really great though.
-
My Bedside Banter & Beyond is my favorite Scrubs episode of all time. My Old Lady, 4th episode in the series, is when I knew this show was different and had to keep watching. Really showed a serious/emotional side of a comedy without being cheesy, which most comedies end up being if they try to do something serious. Going through the series for my 5th/6th time now. Just amazing.

Chrystee Pharris or Mandy Moore? Also I think it goes without saying that Elizabeth Banks is exempted from this convo because she spanned three seasons.
Speaking of Elizabeth Banks, remember when JD first met her and Turk informs him that it actually isn't the first time they met and then they play a montage of other places she's been including Ben's funeral. The episodes should have been "My First Day" and "My Screwup" does she actually appear in these episodes?
Also I love when they take inventory of JDs girlfriends by nicknames; Rumple Fugly, Tina Two Kids, Gift Shop Girl, Mole Butt.

Pharris. My Best Laid Plans is his favorite episode...so it fits perfect. I enjoy Heather Grahams arc as well, fwiw.
No, she wasn't actually there. They superimposed her into those scenes.

The one where he's in the elevator by himself is actually His Story and it's funny because after he sings "everybody was kung fu fighting" the janitor traps him on the elevator for an extended period of time, then crawls down the elevator shaft to tape him up. It would have been really funny if Kim had been there the whole time.

Did not like the ending of episode that (I think) Dr. Murphy (the reject guy) is told to leave the residency program. Ends with him speading the glowing green stuff to the old woman in bed. Mrs. Wilk. That was easily a top 5 episode. Part two of that episode, My Five Steps, I did not like at all. Not the biggest Dave Foley fan. Also Mrs. Wilk, Michael Learned, appeared on 7 episodes that season, didn't seem like that many. Season 5 was amazing. My two favorite cameos happened in the Mrs. Wilk arc, Billy D. Williams and Kareem were hilarious. Also of course that season included the Mandy Moore arc that we've previously discussed.
-
I just read the episode guide for season 5 and it is far and away the best season. I could just watch that season on a loop.

I totally forgot that "My Screw Up" also has the side story of Carla asking Turk to get rid of his mole. The reason it's so great is because of Dr. Kelso's speech about his wife's snoring and how he used to not be able to sleep because of it, but now can't sleep without it. Also, JD's shower shorts. Classic.
-
Shower shorts with a wallet  also Turk's talking mole was freaky, do not like

Wife is going to be working all weekend so I'm planning a Scrubs viewing. Any rituals you people do when watching. :dunno:
I usually am by myself with an adult beverage, in the basement home theater/ family room layed back in my leather recliner. :drink:
Anything to enrich my enjoyment of this show would be appreciated.

My Musical is a classic, with check the poo.
Dr. Cox: It's your hair, your nose, your chinless face. You always need a hug. Not to mention all the manly Appletinies that you chug. That you think I am your mentor, just continues to perplex. And oh my God stop telling me when you have nerdy sex!
J.D.: And by the way, the last time Kim was in town we took some Appeltinies and poored 'em on our good parts!
Dr. Cox: See now newbie that's the thing you do that drives me up a tree. 'Cause no matter how I rant at you, you never let me be. So I'm stuck with all your day dreaming, your wish to be my son. It makes me sucidial! And I'm not the only one. No I'm not the only one.

Dubdub, what happened to your season breakdowns?
Season Two
I watched this season over a long period of time, unlike season 1...so i didn't get as detailed with this list. Every episode was good...i can't really even think of a bad episode in this season. Which is why, IMHO, Season 2 is Scrubs' best season. It was hard to narrow the list down, but these episodes stuck with me the most....so here we go.
1. My T.C.W (E18) - Clearly the best episode of the season. It had everything...so many good lines throughout. JD's rant to everyone bitching about relationships, combined with the ending and song choice, just set it apart. oh, yeah...T.C.W.!
2. My Overkill (E01) - Everything starts to fall back into place after Jordan blows everything up the episode before. I probably over value this episode but i don't care. The usage of Colin Hay at the beginning and end sets it apart as well.
3. My Philosophy (E13) - JD loses his heart patient. Turk/Ralphie ring stuff was gold. The "someone lives, someone dies, circle of life" storyline was great, which made the ending harder. I'm a sucker for songs and stuff...so the "musical" type ending with everyone singing was right up my alley. Extremely well done. Interesting tidbit - The actress, who will eventually play The Janitor's wife, appears in the episode as a doctor.
4. My Sex Buddy (E12) - JD wants to be more than sex buddies with Elliot, but she doesn't. This probably could be combined with My Monster as well, since both episodes deal with JD and Elliot getting together. The ending really sticks with me, probably because of the song choice and relating to his issues.
5. My Dream Job (E22) - Season Finale. Dr. Kelso is being extra hard on Elliot the whole episode, when Dr. Cox punches him in the face. Dr. Cox finally realizes he's a dad, thanks to JD and Turk's friend, played by Ryan Reynolds(!) spilling the beans.
6. My Interpretation (E20) - JD decides to go after T.C.W. after her husband finally dies. Dr. Cox connects with Jack, before realizing he's the father. The storylines in this one just make it great: JD seeing The Janitor's penis outside his window. Still crack up every time he explains it to him. And Turk having fantasies about Elliot(Hot). Also, still pissed at how they ended the T.C.W. arc. She could have been a great character, but she just randomly disappears after My Drama Queen. WTF?!
7. My Fruit Cups (E08) - Dr. Cox picks Prego Jordan over the Pharmaceutical rep. The others go through money issues including Elliot getting cut off from her dad.
8. My Nightingale (E02) - First night they are running the hospital. Carla goes out of her way to help them, without them realizing it. Love Ted's group singing old tv show theme songs throughout.
-
This is combo-fanning at it's finest. Great breakdown, DubDub. JD's rant in TCW is one of my favorites of the entire series.
-
i'll see if i can get Season 3 sometime soon.
-
Nice job WW, JD's rand during My T.C.W. was great otherwise the arc did nothing for me. My Overkill is in my all time top 5, otherwise season two is very meh.

Possibly the best line in "My TCW" is Ralphie saying, "It's fun to eat things!"
-
Ralphie is so gross

to each their own. Agreed T.C.W. had so much potential.
I like your breakdown an it is getting me gear'd up for watching the series again once harvest is over.
this post made my laugh for some reason.
Possibly the best line in "My TCW" is Ralphie saying, "It's fun to eat things!"
Yes, Ralphie was great. When he pukes in the elevator on Dr. Kelso's shoes is hilarious too. Also the Janitor/JD "chink" thing was great.
-
scrubs was really good. no greg the bunny mind you, but a very good show in it's own right.

Season Three
I'll keep it short. Not quite as great of a season front to back, imo. But still great. Other than #1, most of these episodes are interchangeable. Really wasn't a fan of how they did the JD/Elliot stuff....the ending of My Fault was the worst and ruined what would have been a great episode. One great thing about this season was The Janitor's expanded role. He's the best.
1. My Screw Up (E14) - Obviously the best episode of the season, and possibly series. Classic twist ending was incredible. Brendan Fraser was so great, even if he was only in 3 episodes. Turk's mole/Carla's last name/Elliot's Bunyan was a funny side story as well. A ++.
2. My Catalyst/My Porcelain God (E12/E13) - I'll just combine these since it is the Michael J. Fox arc. Really enjoyed the episodes. Both had great endings and the Janitor's roof toilet was awesome.
3. My Brother Where Art Thou (E05) - JD's brother Dan comes to visit and realizes Dr. Cox is having a negative effect on him. Really liked Dan's speech to Cox at the end and enjoyed his character throughout the series in general. Probably why it's high on my list.
4. My Fifteen Seconds (E07) - JD & Cox almost release a suicidal patient named Jill Tracy. She will eventually come back in Season 5 in another memorable episode. Dr. Kelso ruptures his eardrums, which leads to a top 10 Scrubs line. “Sweet Dancing Jehovah, I’ve punctured my brain.”
5. My Moment of Un-Truth (E17) - Carla goes on a date with her "what if" guy. Elliot gets scammed for Drugs. Janitor fakes having a brother. The Dr. Cox/Elliot moment at the end was nice. Just funny throughout.
6. My Clean Break (E11) - JD finally breaks up with Danni after realizing he can't get over Elliot. Dr. Cox is becoming a nicer guy, and he's talking to a therapist about it, which turns out to be his son. Really good ending.
7. My Advice to You (E06) - Carla's brother visits and fakes not knowing English. JD meets Danni. Another great Scrubs line..."Turk, why is there a pancake in the silverware drawer??." "You mean why is there silverware in the Pancake drawer. WASSUUTH!"
8. My Dirty Secret (E09) - Whole episode centered around sex. Just like the episode and it has a good ending.
-
Thanks WW.
Reading your summaries/rankings, its amazing how much we both love scrubs but how much differently we see the show. I do agree with you that season 3 was pretty meh. I watch the show in syndication every night and have for the last six years and every time season three comes up I just get through it. I love the ending to My Fault. It made the successive episodes great and I really don't know where the JD and Elliot storyline would have gone if it didn't happen that way. I think it set up nicely for the rest of the show all the way up to My Finale. I didn't like My Screw Up as much, I would have listed it in the top five for the season, but not even in my top 20 favorite episodes ever. I loved My 15 Minutes and loved the Jill Tracy character. Dan had his moments but I generally didn't like the character and I didn't feel the Michael J. Fox arc. Man one of these seasons I feel like we will see it the same way but to this point we're 0-3.
-
No problem at all MIR. I think it speaks to the greatness of the show that we can find different things to love and appreciate. While i agree the ending of My Fault set up the rest of series, i wish they would have done it slightly different. Don't get my hopes up all episode, and then finally i get what i want, to just take it away in the last 5 seconds!
And you're right, the episodes after My Fault were great, and probably deserved to be on my list. To be honest, it was really hard to make a list for season 3. I probably would reorder them if i would watch them all again. And it all depends on what makes an episode good to you. Is it constant funny scenes, great dialog, great plot, or a great ending? Unfortunately for me, an episode can be pretty crappy, but finish with a great song/ending that makes me feel all warm inside, and i'll love that episode to death. It's my flaw.
And we probably will end up 1-7. lol We may only agree on Season 8.
-
My Screw Up has to be one of the best of the series. I think we discussed it and everyone (besides MIR) agreed that they basically cry everytime.
I've said it before, but I'll say it again. The end of Michael J. Fox's first appearance when he screams at JD at the end, "This is a weak moment for me. Nobody's supposed to see this" gets me everytime. Just love seeing such a strong character break down like that. Even the strongest people have a weakness. A great life lesson, which Scrubs has a lot of.
-
Season Four
I'll keep it short...The top 4 episodes are really great, everything else is good. Instead of a longer list...i just went with episodes that stuck with me. I may have missed one or two.
Least enjoyable of the 4 seasons, imo. More goofy humor this season compared to others...which will ramp up in Season 5.
1. My Best Laid Plans (E19) - JD has a chance with Molly or stay with Kylie. Turk and Carla fight over Turk's conversations with his ex. Cox and The Janitor make a bet over Elliot. The last 5 minutes are really well done. The sped up sequences (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=8aEkdN8BC0s#t=32s) were great. Zach Braff directed the episode i believe. It's actually the Janitor/Elliot story line (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=8aEkdN8BC0s#t=125s) that makes me enjoy the episode even more. You get to see the human side of The Janitor for once.
2. My Life in Four Cameras (E17) - JD's day dream where he lives in a sitcom. I think i might be the only one who love this episode...but it just works for me every time. Shows how cheesy shows can be/makes fun of itself.
3. My Cake (E06) - JD's brother shows up when their dad dies. Dr. Cox has trouble being there for him, but he eventually comes through in the end. It's too bad John Ritter couldn't have been in any more episodes.
4. My Big Move (E22) - Turk tries getting over JD's and Carla's kiss. The Janitor gets a new Uni. One of the funniest episodes of the season. I laugh every time. JD's "MY FRIES!" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=CJHJsAdAm0g#t=208s) line. or Ted getting punched all the time (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=o9caIKwjudQ#t=38s). or The Janitor's walk through with his new uni. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=LlYXBeNl-Q8#t=832s)
5. My Last Chance (E08) - JD gets a chance with Molly, if Elliot allows. Dr. Cox does community service with an EMT lady. It's the Dr. Cox/EMT stuff that makes me enjoy it so much.
6. My First Kill (E04) - JD is worried about his first kill. Elliot and Molly differ on a heart valve transplant. I think i really like this one because of the ending song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=hLMf-JnDzKo#t=250s). Carry on.
-
Best Laid Plans. The defeat of JD falling down on his bed at the end of the second sequence is so powerful. Possibly my favorite episode, easily top 3.
-
Also meant to mention that Elliot looks her best in this season, imho.
-
Season Five
Really didn't think i'd enjoy the 5th season as much as i did. It had more quality episodes than any other season. The humor is a little different, which leads to some iffy episodes thrown in...but still very good.
1. My Lunch/My Fallen Idol (E20/E21) - Dr. Cox loses three patients because of his mistake. This was actually the first episode i ever saw. Randomly turned to NBC one night and got lucky, been hooked ever since. The ending (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzDoqGGs1IM) in My Lunch about makes me cry every time. The ending (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuzBLu_IZCw) of My Fallen Idol is just as good, and actually enjoy that episode a little more.
2. My Way Home (E07) - 100th epi -JD's day off is spent in the hospital as Turk needs a heart, Carla needs courage, and Elliot needs brains. There are a million allusions to The Wizard of Oz in the episode. One of the best written episodes of the series, complete with a great ending (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHWxtURGECo). Zach Braff directed this one too, i think.
3. My Cabbage/My Five Stages (E12/E13) - JD tries to get rid of Cabbage before he causes too much harm, but not before Cabbage infects Ms. Wilk, leading to her death. The ending (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnoaC1S8XIU) to My Cabbage still gets me when Cabbage tries leaving.
4. My New God (E05) - Dr. Cox's sister visits for Jack's Baptism. I'm guessing i enjoy this episode more than most. It's just nice seeing a little character development (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh2DUVmzlx4&feature=player_detailpage#t=118s) from Dr. Cox.
5. My Day at the Races (E03) - JD tries to cross things off the list by age 30. This episode stuck about because it consistently made me laugh. Still wish we found out what Jake's sexual fantasy was, that scared Elliot off. damn.
6. My New Suit (E18) - JD's brother comes back for a visit. Dr. Cox insults Kelso's kid, Carla and Turk pick out baby names. I love the camera shot at the end (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZyPj9E2dXA&feature=player_detailpage#t=347s), very cool.
7. His Story III (E19) - Episode with The Janitor narrating instead of JD. Hilarious throughout and stuck with me because it was nice to see The Janitor happy at the end (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdD7QsOO1ws&feature=player_detailpage#t=355s).
-
DubDub, your breakdowns make my week. Thank you.
-
thank you Jakesie. It is my pleasure. Feel free to disagree/critique/PI/agree with my thoughts.
-
His Story III ranks a little higher for me. Pretty hilarious episode. And you realize at the end that you actually care about the janitor, despite the fact that he rarely goes through anything serious (except for My Best Laid Plans). But at the end when he turns the corner to "where no one knows my name", I had a strong emotional response, which is pretty cool.
-
Season Six
Watched this season over a longer period of time, and as result didn't keep as good of tabs like past seasons. So I'll just list episodes that left an impression on me, with embedded links. Probably the weakest season overall, imho.
1. My Cold Shower (E18) - JD realizes he should have Elliot. Really liked Keri Russell in these episodes. Top 5 Scrubs ending ever for me. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=9lLYcvOZb5Q#t=289s)
2. My Point of No Return (E22) - Season Finale. Janitor's gift storyline throughout was hilarious. Holy Cliffhanger ending! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt1xoLkRC14)
3. My Musical (E06) - You either love or hate this episode. I obviously loved it. Every song was ridiculously creative. Two favorites were Everything comes down to poo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb2fdHbGo7k) and Friends Forever, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b64Ca0763o8) mainly because of the Janitor's dancing.
4. My Best Friend’s Baby and My Baby’s Baby (E02) - Turk has his daughter and JD & Kim decide on their kid. Liked this music sequence here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=e8cWKuLpXJE#t=240s) and this bit. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=gKzi9oDIGF0#t=377s) This episode also includes one of Scrubs' best lines. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=gKzi9oDIGF0#t=315s)
5. My House (E04) - Really good ending (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=WXlklCcWnjE#t=275s), especially the first time i watched it. Wish they would have handled that Carla storyline differently though.
6. My No Good Reason/My Long Goodbye (E14/E15) - Laverne's death storyline. Both (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=nELS6Ymv5cQ#t=256s) Endings (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=HpkhfJY-pis#t=385s) are well done.
7. My Road to Nowhere (E08) - Episode wasn't that great. But i included it because of the twist ending. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=4tPKoF81glA#t=174s)
-
Dashboard in My Cold Shower puts tears in my eyes everytime. And man, Say Anything in the season finale? It wasn't that I thought it made the scene or anything, I just love me some Say Anything. Funny story, Say Anything is also in one of the first Breaking Bad episodes. Hearing your favorite band in your favorite TV show is a pretty surreal experience.
-
Yes. Music is what takes things to another level.

Just saw My T.C.W. last night and man did I underrate that episode, it was unbelievable. Slimz breakdown of the episode:
This is combo-fanning at it's finest. Great breakdown, DubDub. JD's rant in TCW is one of my favorites of the entire series.
No doubt. Had to YouTube it just now just to watch it again.

Nurse Roberts: :peek:
was perfect. Nurse Roberts was hilarious throughout. Still not sure if it is as good as My Overkill though. Also I am going back to posting what episode I watched on a given evening and posting my favorite quote from that episode. Starting tonight with My Kingdom.
An aside. This summer as I was in New Hampshire, I worked with not one but three different people that are as into Scrubs as we (Jake & WW) are. In person Scrubs breakdowns are incred.
-
MIR, if you asking for a scrubsPAK, we'll have a scrubsPAK. We'll watch all of our favorite episodes, drink some appletinis, the works. Obviously, this will have to be on a bye week, or the night after another early game.
-
Who would be the base for world's most giant doctor? I vote Jakesie, obviously. I'm not quite so strong through the trunk.
also, recently found out a coworker likes scrubs as much as me. Agree with MIR in person Scrubs discussions are awesome.
-
Season Seven
Short season as only 11 episodes were made due to the writer's strike. Basically killed any chance of it being a good/great season. Still some quality episodes in there.
1. My Dumb Luck (E09) - Dr. Kelso decides he wants to leave on his own terms (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Z6OD4tS3Dd0#t=220s), even after the others got his job back. Kelso reminisced most of the episode with the intern Boone(woof). Probably should have been the Season Finale, at least that's how i treat it.
2. My Own Worst Enemy (E01) - Season Premiere. Elliot decides she doesn't want to marry Keith. JD realizes he doesn't love Kim. Because of this episode i now use the term "Occam's Razor" quite frequently. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=9OFQnpwBz2k#t=233s) Also, Matt Kearney is a bawse. Random gripe: HOW WOULD YOU NOT CHECK THE SCALP FOR A TICK BITE?!
3. My Princess (E11) - Technically the Season Finale, although it was aired out of order. Reading online, a lot of people don't seem to like this episode...but i like it. Dr. Cox tells his son a story about his day at the hospital. Half the episode is set in a fairytale. Enjoyed the different music and ending to the episode. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=nA0IOGrwAJo#t=237s)
4. My Identity Crisis (E04) - The Janitor challenges JD to learn everybody's name in the hospital. Turk learns Spanish for Carla. Not a great episode, but i really liked it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=pWwwkT1CLgg#t=262s). JD and The Janitor's interaction was great throughout.
-
Season 7 is so terrible. Now season 8, that one I really, really enjoyed.
-
Season 7 is so terrible. Now season 8, that one I really, really enjoyed.
if it would have ended there...i would have been very upset.
-
I like this season, that being said I hate My Princesses. If the show finished that way it would have changed how I thought of Bill Lawrence. Total mail in.
-
"Wow, it's kind of emotional in here. You guys keep this up, eventually you all will get your periods on the same day...which is kind of cool."
-
"You're aware i could kick your ass, right?"
"I'm sure i'd get in some slaps."
-
"Women Fart. I know they do. Cuz i have a wife and a daughter and they both fart. And she farts, i've smelled it before. It smells like hot dogs."
-
Season Eight
After not being picked up by NBC, Scrubs got another chance on ABC and the writers came through. Just a great season throughout, ending with most fans' "Series Finale". Dammit, i didn't want it to end.
1. My Finale (E18) - Season(or Series) Finale. I don't think you can ask more from a finale. You find out The Janitor's real name! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSEq7ShyPI4) Or do you?! JD had a nice scene with pretty much every cast member...ending with seeing all "his friends along the way" and fantasizing what his future will hold. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uduAw8FqrBA&feature=related) His moment with Dr. Cox was so great. Pretty much impossible not to tear up sometime in that ending.
2. My Chief Concern (E17) - JD decides to take a job closer to Sam. The Janitor struggles with change. JD realizes nothing will be the same. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCl3t8fMZ9s&feature=player_detailpage#t=245s) Ending really hits hard.
3. My Soul on Fire, Part 2 (E15) - The Janitor gets married in the Bahamas. JD finally tells Elliot he loves her the right way. Ted singing an acoustic version of "Hey Ya" is pretty much the best thing ever. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=hxm3KAaMgTI#t=149s) Also, Bill Lawrence should stick to writing/directing instead of acting.
4. My Last Words (E02) - JD and Turk skip Steak Night to talk to a dying patient. Watching this multiple times kind of takes the vulnerability out, but I really liked the 1st time viewing.
5. My Lawyer's in Love (E08) - Ted finally gets a girlfriend. That, in and of itself, is a great plot line. The songs his love interest sings are catchy and fun. JD and The Janitor spend a large amount of time interacting and it's hilarious. Dr. Cox realizes he doesn't have time for everything. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=6KXq2OOLO-k#t=255s)
6. My ABCs (E05) - This was meant to be the 1st episode of the season, so they introduce the new interns. They did a great job of casting, considering two now star in their own sitcoms...as well as Jimmie the overly-touchy orderly, who's now on SNL. Sesame Street is a theme throughout, which explains the ending (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=3Ca6xJCPTCs#t=173s). Maybe deserves to be higher on my list.
7. My Happy Place (E04) - JD and Elliot finally get back together with the help of Dr. Kelso. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=0BCfKSYGZrw#t=247s) Probably doesn't deserve a place on my list, but it sets up the rest of the season, so what the heck.
-
My ABCs and My Finale are both in my all-time top 3 (My Overkill). JD walking through that hallway and seeing his future is amazing. On My ABCs the guy dying for me is the saddest moment in the history of the show. The Sesame Street cameos were unbelievable.
The best part of this season was an introduction to two rising comedic stars, Aziz Ansari and Eliza Coupe, who were both phenomenal on the season and continue to do so on their current projects. These two might be my two favorite current comedic actors.
Did you guys ever see the webisodes during this season? They were called "Interns" and it featured the interns, mainly Sunny Day and Jo, they were great. It gave me promise for the next season but they went in a completely different direction even from the webisodes.

My ABC's had the saddest moment for you? wow, big words. I just wasn't invested enough in him; i think other characters from past seasons dying would take the cake for me.
Currently love Coupe on Happy Endings. Really excited about this new season.
I caught a couple, mainly i remember Jimmy the overly-touchy orderly one. I need to get on the youtubes.

it wasn't the character but the moment, the wife and kid, JD crying (only time on the series I believe), Josh Radin's sesame street theme playing underneath, it just got me. The character that dies that I thought was the saddest storyline was Luverne. JDs dad dying was completely different for me because I really liked John Ritter, threes company was my favorite show when I was a kid & I really like Sling Blade. Jill Tracy's death and the four succeeding deaths was also a very sad storyline. As documented several times, Ben's death did nothing for me.
-
It (obviously) wasn't Ben's death that was sad, it was Dr. Cox's realization of it. Watching it in order, which is rare since everyone now makes their way through the series by watching reruns, it was the first time you had ever seen Dr. Cox weak. And that's a pretty big moment.

agreed, except the Ben part of course. Also, Mrs. Wilk's death was very sad for me. When Coldplay's Fix You was played at the end of My Cabbage, pretty powerful.

It might have been the least effective use of "Fix You" I have ever seen. The green on the hands that spread to her nose and stuff got the point across, but it was hard to watch. It made the moment too unreal to be powerful for me.
-
lol glad we can agree then.
Also, im starting Season 9 :frown:
-
When Cabbage killed Mrs. Wilk, I wasn't sad, I was angry. The episode in which she dies was ruined for me by Dave Foley.
Jakesie, the reruns do run in order but you have to watch the right syndicate. Scrubs is syndicated three different ways; on WGN, on Comedy Central, and through local affiliates. They run in order in all three but because of frequency of broadcast they are at different spots in the show run. For example, I don't watch Scrubs on WGN because the airtime sucks for me, I don't watch on Comedy Central because they change when it comes on quite a bit so it is easy to miss one or two. I watch in my local affiliate. Last year I watched My Last Day here in Wichita the next night I was in Ithaca at my in-laws and I watched My Overkill on the Syracuse local affiliate, hooked the mother in law on scrubs this night incidentally. I do this when travelling quite a bit, nerdy I know but when I go somewhere I check online for the local affiliate that carries scrubs and the time it comes on.
-
My Screw Up and My Catalyst were the best for me. Two of the most powerful/emotional endings I've ever seen in a sitcom. Both really got to me.

Also, how much great music did Scrubs introduce you to? I feel like there could easily be a thread on just the music from this series.
This is one of my favorites:

-
Yeah I have a ton of music in my MP3 directly because of Scrubs. Two of my favorites I just mentioned. Overkill & Joshua Radin's Sesame Street Theme. Also love Boston by Augustana.
There is a scene from My Fifteen Minutes where JD thinks Turk is going to be happy about a Sacred Heart billboard and Turk is pissed. This stands out for two reasons, one I can only think of one more time when they used a pop adult contemporary top 40 song (Toto's Africa is the other time) and it is the only time I can remember them using music in the manner in which they did. Guess I didn't mention the song yet, Wonderful by Everclear.
Nice subtopic MBC
-
Love the toto song and jd singing it in the bathtub. Another great one is Question by Old 97s they use it when Turk proposes to Carla. Just an epic proposal song. Oddly enough I don't remember the episode but I do remember hearing that everclear song from the show so I know I've seen it.

with JD running around them with Sparklers
MIR, do you mean they rarely use popular/mainstream songs? i really don't know which ones would be pop adult contemporary top 40 song or not.
i've got plenty of Scrubs songs on my ipod too. My roommate can always tell when a "scrubs song" comes on. "Blue Eyes" is great.

The Scrubs take on ER Docs is dead on guys. :surprised: Mrs. BF brought me along for a visit to a potential new job. On the tour we stopped by the ER and the doc on call literally highfived me. Scrubs - Med School
:| Really don't want to discuss this. I enjoyed a couple episodes..."Our First Day of School", "Our Role Models", "Our White Coats."
Lucy just wasn't a great lead character; really enjoyed Drew, Cole, and of course Denise. While i understand them giving this a shot, it will always end at Season 8 for me and I'm OK with that.

top 5 emotional scene for me. I cried like a little bitch.
How emotional were you during the Scrubs Season 8 finale?
Very sad. That scene where I walk down the hallway passed all of the supporting characters. I cried. And then watching that video projected on the sheet... I lost it. Most people don't know this, but the janitor who pulls the sheet down and says goodbye is Bill Lawrence. (the show's creator)

Now that it's combofanning season, should we go through the series together, real life friends? Like, in two weeks we'll come back and discuss season one, two weeks later come back and discuss season two? Maybe even use the chat function for such an occasion? I don't know, I'm just spitballing here.

i'm game.

Warm up the DVD machines!

Oh I'll play. I mean I'm not scrubs expert but I've played a game of find the saltine once or twice. ;)

I've played find the saltine, too!!

At Hasting's website, they do 30-40% used dvds with free shipping about once a month. Got the whole series of Scrubs (9 doesn't count) for about $4 a season shipped
-
so we got 4 now? Alright, when we doing this thing?

I'll phase in and out. I just don't think enough changes from season to season to make this as interesting as I would like it to be.

Prove me wrong fellas! Draw me in. I wasn't commenting on the quality of the show, but one of the things I enjoyed about it/in syndication was being able to drop in for some laughs without a chance of being lost in a season long plot. At most, any significant plot is resolved in 4 episodes.
-
okay. lemme know when we're starting season 1.

"Your butt looks like two pringles hugging."
Finished the first episode today. Initial reaction is that I'm sad that I was a few seasons late to starting scrubs. I think I would have loved the show even more if I had started with season 1.
I also noticed how much Ted changes later in the show. Early Ted really wasn't even necessary... Just an observation.

9. So many of Neil Flynn’s lines as The Janitor were ad libbed throughout the series that, at one point, a fourth season script reportedly actually said, “(Whatever Neil says).” The Janitor actually was originally only written as a gag character for the pilot episode, but Flynn was so good, they kept him around for the entire series. One of my very favorite inside jokes in the series is how Bill Lawrence took advantage of the fact that Neil Flynn actually had a bit part in The Fugitive.

Anybody watch Bill Lawrence's new multi-cam that NBC's been burning off over the last few weeks? Undateable? I've caught a few. I mean, it's a multi-cam with a laugh track, so...not great. But not unwatchable so far.

terrorists, imo.
I've caught a few episodes...not bad. Something about the main guy just rubs me the wrong way. Also, Bill Lawrence has made it very clear on twitter it's actual people laughing while watching the episode, and not a laugh track. Apparently that's a big deal to him.

I don't care for people who don't care for Scrubs, ya know?
I wouldn't quite go that far Stevesie. There are probably some decent people in this world, maybe even some of my own friends, who don't care for Scrubs but my outlook towards them is more along the lines of pity. You just can't force someone to enjoy a perfectly grilled steak or a beautiful sunset or a hilarious yet endearing episode of Scrubs. Their loss, ya know?

i saw the nice mean doctor from scrubs get killed in The Rock last night.

Guys, scrubs is leaving Netflix on May 2nd :bawl: :bawl: :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:
Apparently it's on Hulu though, just another racquet for us to spend more money, now I have to add hulu :flush:

Hasn't this happened before? Then fans make a ruckus and eventually they reach a deal to keep it?

I went back and read this entire thread and it is absolutely amazing, if I ever were to be in a bad mood, this thread would be a pick-me-up.
We never had our scrubs pak and I absolutely blame dub dub.

Yeah, last year it happened and Netflix relented and kept scrubs around for another year, there will be no reprieve this time, it's over.

One time I was out with some bros at the world famous Dutch Goose in Topeka and as a joke we ordered a round of appletinis (but you know what, and don't tell anyone I said this, but I kind of liked it.) I think they did too because we kept ordering more rounds of appletinis. JD was really on to something.

Yes, we should do this again. I purchased seasons 1-8 on DVD after we got booted from Netflix.

yeah, I assume they'll start doing episodes in blocks?. Sounds like they will have guests quite often which will be fun.
-
Yeah I wonder if they'll just start breaking it down by through story lines, just obviously had to have an entire episode for the pilot. But maybe they will do one for every episode, what the hell else are they doing?
-
Did not like the ending of episode that (I think) Dr. Murphy (the reject guy) is told to leave the residency program. Ends with him speading the glowing green stuff to the old woman in bed. It made me sad and I watch that show to pick me not depress me. Just the thought of that unsuspecting, smiling, green glowing old woman makes my heart sink.
That was Cabbage, who may be Jeff Withey's twin brother. But yes, very sad. Especially with Coldplay playing in the background.
this scene is v relevant these days.

also i'm going through my old season breakdowns. Wow i spent too much time on those.

Yeah, I think of that scene 40 times a day since three weeks ago.

Thanks to creepy ass Google I discovered that I share a birthday with Zach Braff, Eliza Coupe, and Billy Dee Williams :surprised: April 6th has to be World Scrubs Day.

There are 167 episodes, not counting season 9. If they do one podcast every single week, never missing one, they would finish with season 8 on June 20, 2023.

Exactly, unless they're getting paid to do it, there's no way they are going to do 167 episodes of this.
Episode 2 was not as good, still funny though, best part was Zach talking to Cacee Cobb. Good stuff about Robert Maschio and Sarah Chalke bringing out her inner Elliott and her husband putting the kibosh on it.
-
Definitely sounds like they are gonna crank out as many as they can.
Good interview.

3rd podcast epi was the best yet. Many lol moments and learned a lot about why they did things from Bill.

Yes, the third episode was awesome.
Great news, there are two episodes this week. Not so good news, it was with Sarah Chalke and not very entertaining :frown:

Definitely not as good. Interesting to hear how unprepared Turk always was with the show scripts.
-
She doesn't say anything too interesting, but it's hilarious to realize how much she's actually like Elliot.
-
Her Roseanne story was interesting to me because I had never heard that before. Crazy how close that came to not happening.
I'll admit it's a little jarring to hear them drop F bombs.
-
Rewatching Scrubs on DVD since it was taken off Netflix. Man, forgot how shitty the music was screwed up when it was put onto streaming services (I think they mention it on the podcast, but it's super evident)
-
yes, it really is too bad. I need to buy the DVDs sometime.
pretty good first part of the podcast today. Kinda tailed off in the 2nd half.
-
Just hit "where do you think we are?" and ugly cried.

you're making good progress

I have every episode on my DVR and on DVDs. I also have Hulu so I can always watch when the mood hits. For example, I saw a pretty garbage list of best 15 episodes ever from Uproxx. It didn't include My Overkill or My ABCs. So I just popped them on hulu. The best thing about Hulu in the case of My Overkill is that the music was embedded with Collin Hay on the episode, so there were no rights issues.

My Overkill - #2 on my Season 2 rankings
My ABCs - #5 on my Season 8 rankings :/
who is your DVR through? Are you worried about every losing them?

I hate your rankings! My DVR is through Directv. The only way I'll lose them is when the genie craps out. Their dvr capacity is essentially stored on an external hard drive called genie.

died at the Zach fluffing his junk talk in today's podcast.
-
As someone known to publicly be in their boxers regularly, I've had the exact same thoughts.
-
like Donald, this thought has never occurred to me. His singing voice is very good. Loved the addition of the Bill audio clip drop in.
-
One of the best moments ever in Scrubs is JD internally says “I wonder if I can ask Turk something telepathically. Turk, you still wanna hang out tonight?” then Turk goes (out loud) “yeah, you still wanna watch that show?” and then they continue the conversation out loud and never acknowledge that JD asked Turk something telepathically and Turk answered.
-
Guy who plays Ted died today. Hit me pretty hard.
-
Just saw that too :frown: Ted was a good character. For some reason I always think of this moment when I think of Ted:

"AAAHHH MMAANN!! I IRONED MY GOING-OUT HAIR!"
-
Both of those are amazing. Dude was only 37 when they started taping the show.
-
I started listening to the podcast earlier today. First episode is pretty great.
-
Liked today's episode. They recorded this one before Sam Lloyd's death so that was a little awkward, imo. Not much they can do though. Enjoyed a few stories they told about him.
-
Really enjoyed the Bill Lawrence interview from yesterday's podcast. Wish they would have talked more about the episode though.
-
Yes, that was a weird time not to do a deep dive into the episode, it was a pretty significant one. I've started watching the episodes the night before the pod and I was expecting a deep dive with the bus scene. Whenever I watch the episode it always seems to me that there's an unspoken subtext about why Carla blew up (overreacted), it would have been nice to have that explored.

agreed, it always bothered me how easily Carla and JD moved past that, especially with JD patronizing her again the next day.
I had also forgotten the original music for that scene.
-
Just watched season 8 for what can't be more than my third time. I can't believe how little I've revisited it. Only other finales that are comparable in quality are BoJack and Six Feet Under.
-
Season 8 was fantastic and they absolutely nailed the landing. I think the uncertainty of the last 4 years of the show didn't allow season 8 to star like it should have. It's easily my favorite season.
-
As much as I have been enjoying the podcast, i've been enjoying re-watching the episodes even more.
-
the last several podcasts have been great! Can't wait for the Neil Flynn epi
-
ha, I was going to complain about them, haven't listened to today's though. Christa Miller is fantastic, but Donald has been kinda crap. I'm over having the two of them with Sarah, I think those episodes would be better if it were just Sarah and Zach.
Guys Donald sucks at this, there I said it. I feel much better.

nah i agree. He is definitely the weak link. maybe my love for the show is not allowing me to be objective.
-
OK MIR. The last two have been good, right? Loved Neil, although i wanted to hear more from him. I enjoyed Shea cuz they talked more about the show which was enjoyable. He laugh was less so. Donald still annoying.
-
I'm really glad they had a 'cast to share their thoughts on pulling the 3 eps from Hulu.
-
I'll hit that one tomorrow, I'm interested to hear the explanation as to why they just didn't decide to cut those scenes. The one with Elliott in blackface I didn't even remember.
WW, yes those two were good, I think I've given up on the podcast being useful as an insiders show recap, it's stunning how little they know about the show because of how successful they've been away from it. I bet Rob Macchio and Aloma Wright know a lot more about the show.
-
Yeah I've been really wanting Rob Macchio to be a guest. Weird they haven't even mentioned him as a potential guest.
I had the same thought about the scenes vs entire show being taken down. Especially since they're just JD fantasies that wouldn't lose any of the storyline.
The scene they're talking about with Elliot is when she is done up to look just like Turk, so it's not her face. She has a shaved head amongst other details.

He's got a badass real estate business going, which is awesome. Would be cool to hear from him.
Bill said it was due to not having access to editing equipment currently. I don't know the logistics of editing the digital files but it shouldn't be that hard, should it? :dunno: Thought he said it would just be edited out at some point.
I remembered one instance, but not all 3.
I agree with MIR on how to view this podcast. Definitely less Scrubs Insidery than i was anticipating, but i can see how that material would run dry pretty quick. I enjoy hearing Bill's insight on why they did something a certain way and if there was pushback, etc.
-
Did you guys ever listen to the director's comments on the series? That's a why more efficient way to get behind the scenes talk.
-

I didn't and I have the DVDs. Maybe I'll watch those on my next watch through.
-
Ken Jenkins was an absolute delight. :D
-
He really was! I can see why everyone from the cast always talks about how much they love him.
-
His thoughts about his Season 1 performance was interesting to me. It did cross my mind a few times watching Season 1 that he was overly mean at times.
His :bigtoke: usage was a surprise to me.
Him and his wife reading to each other was so adorable and i can't believe they actually do that.
-
A hundred times yes to all of that. I laughed very loud when, at the end when Donald said how amazing it was to work with such a great actor, he said along the lines of "You see Donald, the main reason I wanted to come on here was to hear you spout some bullshit like that".
-
Yeah, that was the best non Bill/Christa pod. It's amazing how annoying Donald is, I wonder if he has ADD. Zach having to constantly calm him down is great.
-
Came in the mail today. The set was surprisingly cheap, under $40 with shipping. I'm sad they didn't make a Kelso and Carla.

woah, thats awesome. Would love a Janitor one. Dr. Cox would be my fav.
Re: the podcast. Anytime they start singing i just skip ahead.
I did enjoy the Donald/CaCee meeting part in today's podcast
-
Not sure if it was because i was listening on a long drive instead of at my desk, but i really enjoyed the Johnny C podcast yesterday. He is so intimidating
-
It was my favorite episode so far, his stories are awesome.

Hadn't put that together yet, but you nailed it.
It has been weird for me to realize Faison is the more flamboyant one, and Braff has to keep him in check. Would have bet my house that it was the other way around.

I thought they were unnecessarily mean to that zoomer, that woman had no idea she was going to be on, especially while she was at work. I'm sure she listened to the podcast only to hear hope badly they crap on her after she left the zoom.

yes! way too mean and also too hard on Joelle. They brought it up again on today's podcast. dumb. Today's podcast was much better thankfully.
I watched My Interpretation today and my god it was hilarious. I originally rated it #6 for season two and its too low. So funny.
"See if you can find my tattoo..."
-
today's was extremely off topic. not good.
Also zach thought My Drama Queen was the best of season 2 so far. :| didn't even make my top 8.
-
It was so bad, even the guest skyper, who generally has good show related questions, was way off topic and not the least bit interesting. It was nice to get an ask Bill segment, and a trevorwiki segment, even though the question they asked him was rudimentary.
-
I want Bill on every episode in some capacity.
-
Scott Foley was a great guest! Hopefully he is on more. It will be interesting as they run into some poorly written episodes as the series progresses. And then ask Bill "wtf why?"
Zach trashing Farmer's Only and small towns is bothering me.

And what they consider small towns. Windsor, ON and Waco, TX are small towns? They are bad stereotypes of coastal elites. I already knew that Zach is unpopular with a segment of the little people in the entertainment industry, but this pod is starting to make me not like them. They were right about the Turk being a homophobe thing though, it was weird to watch.

for sure, that arc was not well thought out. I could see that being a season 1 epi...but not season 3. odd

No test, I'm just a moron and thought they first sung guy love in season one.
That's disappointing about the latest episode. I saw it was just over an hour and good happy thinking they cleaned all the crap up.

also feel free to skip today's. nothing burger unless you want to hear Zach get crap for asking "Does Baltimore have hiking?"
Also Dan's laugh is annoying and he needs to edit himself out.
No test, I'm just a moron and thought they first sung guy love in season one.
That's disappointing about the latest episode. I saw it was just over an hour and good happy thinking they cleaned all the crap up.
I'm gonna listen to them all regardless and you're right it was nicer for it to be shorter. Also the guest wasn't bad.
Their Insta live appletini thing last night was fairly entertaining.
Percentage of show related humor?
-
the instagram vid? not much...just donald shirtless while Zach quickly makes the drink. 9 minutes long. Zach's looking old
-
really enjoyed The Todd today!
-
Yes, he was awesome! Remember when I said this podcast would be better with him and either Ken or Judy?
-
How great would it be in Ken and Bill were the hosts and Zach and Donald just came on as guests every few episodes (along with Rob, Sarah, Johnny, etc. rotating through)?
-
would listen.
I'm hoping they can get Aloma on sometime too.
-
I hadn't listened to the podcast since having our kid. Finally starting to catch up now.
Epi 310 with Bill was great. Really interesting to hear how the scrubs episode changed from Carla and Elliot searching for pot for a patient to Carla and Elliot searching for a man whore for a patient due to the network.

Good luck man, the season three podcasts are a nightmare, the finale pod is really good though. The latest podcast, season 4 epi 2 is two hours long, it's with Sarah though so hopefully it's good, I'm only listening to like 15-20 minutes of these podcasts these days. They have a really bad habit of bringing Kaycee Cobb on quite a bit and she's dull.
It looks like the podcast is headed for a hiatus as both Zach and Donald are starting acting jobs. People are pissed that he was picked for the Cheaper by the Dozen reboot, I gotta say I'm not thrilled about it either, but it's not about him.
-
Wish there was a way to filter out anything but the episodes talk. Such is life. Still am enjoying going back through the scrubs episodes as I progress.

Me too, only reason I listen. I think I will still watch two episodes a week if the podcast has to go on hiatus.
-
The Real JD pod was very good! Kinda interesting to hear the vaccine talk now that we're two months + into it.
Also Food Network is on 8+ hours a day in this house. Imagine my surprise when our very own Nurse Roberts was on The Kitchen. Had to do a triple take.

timed it perfect last night to catch the first 8 episodes of Season 1. Glad it is on cable again

Im on epi 409 of the podcast. I'll be honest MIR...they haven't been as bad as i worried. I've been pretty entertained lately.
I can't believe they really think 408 My Last Chance was the best episode so far. I had it like 5th best of the 4th season alone. Different strokes I guess.

Yeah, that's a good stretch of actual show talk. Have you blooded how much Zach loves talking about his liners? Also you've gotten to the god awful Donald raps. The good of scores shows goes until 414.5. The podcast goes completely off the rails at least through the airing of the live show which is 2 full hours of doodoo. I didn't listen to much of it. I now only listen to the point in which they take the phone call then I'm out.
-
Good to know. I didn't watch the live show. Didn't it cost money? I've started listening to the podcast on my commute so i have more patience for their offtopic stuff.

I didn't listen to that live, lol, hell naw. They released it as a 2 hour podcast.

really enjoyed the Richard Kind interview. Also noticing your point about Zach's lines more. Thanks MIR

The Richard Kind interview is the best non Bill podcast they've had. Now that you've heard the Zach thing you'll hear it every time, along with him laughing at his own jokes and lines, like he did on the show.
-
So i started listening to the podcast on my daily commute instead of at work. I've really enjoyed them much better that way. I've really liked Season 4 so far. Sorry MIR.
Also just got to My Best Laid Plans, the best epi of season 4. What a great episode.

Did you listen to the entire 2 hour live show?
Pretty clear that one or both of them are a bit too busy working for the podcast, they have had non show recaps the last couple of weeks, didn't even download them.

I did! Glad Bill was on there
Yeah i think so. I'm guessing it will be hard for them to get through all 8 seasons at this pace.
I do find it interesting how Donald didn't have much work lately. Not sure if that was all COVID or what.
-
I'm finally caught up. The guests situation on the last epi was a bit much for me. Was doing the same as Bill
-
Bro, those guests, wtf? I'm no kink shamer but that was messed up, they're definitely getting divorced. I don't regularly listen to the guests, especially when Kacie is on there with her awful, for most, parenting advice. I 100% never listen to the fix my life segment. Life advice from Zach Braff and Donald Faison :lol+
-
Not sure if you're still keeping up. But i'm miffed they think My Big Move was one of the funniest episodes of the series. I could tell Donald doesn't love this season, but is too afraid to speak to much about it.
-
I do still listen weekly, don't know why, but I still do. This week's podcast was awful and I'm disappointed by that because they have been talking about My Big Bird for weeks, I thought the podcast episode would be much better. They're clearly too busy to make these season 5 episodes any good, which is a shame because season 5 is awesome.

They need some guest stars to come on this season. It's been just them so far it seems. Too bad Bill has blown up. Surely some others could come on to liven things up.

Need your opinion, does the Janitor hear the "Thank You" at the end of this episode?

Yeah, I don't know what the hell they were going on about in that episode, of course he heard. Sometimes I feel like they don't even watch the episode they're reviewing or watch while doing other crap.
-
lol, I'm literally listening to this week's podcast and very obvious that Zach didn't watch the episode right from the start. He didn't know the 30 cent joke was redone in a previous season.

I've always thought he heard due to his reaction after Mr Mcnair says it. However since the podcast epi, I googled around and i've seen this be pretty split. Some say the door is closed and he's down the hallway....how could he hear it?
screw it, gonna tweet @ bill.

Those who propose that he didn't hear, what is the theory for the janitor's change in body language?
-
no explanation given. I joined the facebook group that discusses the podcast. LOL man they are not a fan of Zach lately.

How in the hell is he just being charged? I saw this on twitter a year ago

It appears they got more women to come forward now. What a creep. Back when the news first broke I searched twitter for a while and came across this tweet.

Really wonder what else is there

@MakeItRain @Stevesie60
I've somehow stuck with the Fake Doctors Real Friends Podcast. The Season 8 series finale podcast is worth listening to if you haven't. Also it seems like some sort of Reunion series/movie may actually happen at some point which will be cool.
-
Oh man, great to know. I'll check it out soon. I really enjoyed Zach and Pete Holmes swapping appearances on their podcasts a while back.

This was a treat! Goddamn I missed the podcast's theme song. Legitimately happy to have it stuck in my head for the next week or so.
I had heard that Glenn Matthews was legitimately the janitor's name and JD was the only person he told it to. But the fact that they had to come up with a reason that he would be credited in The Fugitive as Neil Flynn is rough ridin' hilarious.

would have loved to be a fly on the wall in that writer's room while they were arguing about it.
Bill putting old lines from his previous shows in Scrubs was cool. Hadn't heard that before.
