maybe. they'll throw the whole family of twenty in the tractor and drive it on over to ft worth. they work on farms so they're pretty strong and honest to god what do they have to lose. we are smarter and have more money but fighting is not our strength. my suggestion for cat fans would be to stay in groups, show up late, leave early and stay in the wealthier parts of the metroplex.

I am staying in downtown Dallas near the whole bar area thing (I guess it's kind of like aggieville but more lame because it's in a lame-ass city). Anyway, we're staying in a Sheraton, do you think that will be enough or should I go 4 star to be safe?

They could, but unlikely they do.
I'm sure the middle of the 4th quarter will roll around and Arkansas will likely have around 50-75 more yards of offense and had parts of the game where they felt like they had complete control, but it will be a 1 score game. That's what K-State does; I see this match-up likely being very similar to the OSU game.

They run different schemes, but I think Arkansas compares favorably to Oklahoma State. IMHO OSU has a better QB, Ark might have slightly better recievers (overall/depth), and perhaps Ark has slightly better backs, but the offenses put up very similar numbers (OSU scored much more, but its fair to say Big 12 defenses aren't as good as those in the SEC). Defensively IMO OSU is better and runs a much more agressive scheme. They gave up more yards, but again IMO they faced better offenses. And OSU is much better at forcing TOs; that part isn't even close.

its all about the trenches to me, if we win the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball we win by 14 at least
plus snyder>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>petrino and with over a month to prepare and continue to get healthy i like our chances
Snyder a better coach than Petrino? Come on, bro.
The KSU football team is very "Sandusky-esque"...if you were to casually stroll through the locker room it would be filled with rhythmic slapping, horseplay and the like. Come to think of it...does Snyder bare an uncommon resemblance to the now shamed former Penn State D-coordinator? :dunno:
I'm glad you KSU fans have this website....I mean, now that the postal service is cutting back this may be your only means of contact with the world outside of Manhattan [seriously? Is irony really what your looking for in a city name?].
KSU fans....nothing but a bunch of mouth-breathers and booger eaters.
KSU is as much the 8th best team in the country as a KSU degree guarantees you a job at Whataburger.

The play of both lines will be a big part of the game, but turnovers (where we have a large advantage) and the return game (we are good, but they are better; losing Lockett hurts us a lot) will as well. Arkansas' punt returner maybe the best in college football; fortunately punt coverage is pretty good and we usually force fair catches. KO coverage vs their KO return game worries me.
tell me about this wilson fella. i feel like we are playing a handicapped baylor, is that a correct assessment?
tell me about this wilson fella. i feel like we are playing a handicapped baylor, is that a correct assessment?
I don't like Baylor as a comparison, because Ark won't run QB run/option at all. That's why I picked OSU as the comparison.
Wilson compares favorably to Weeden, but like I said, Weeden is a better player. At WR I'd say OSU's Blackmon compares favorably to Ark's Wright, but with Adams, Hamilton, and TE Gragg I think Ark's overall receiving core is better. Johnson and Wingo are solid backs, but its tough for me to think they are better than Randle and Smith for OSU. OSU only gave up 11 sacks on the year while Ark gave up 25.

Yes. You guys have the unfortunate opportunity to get to play us after a big loss. Good luck with that. We will try and not hang 50+ points on your defense. Not really, we will try to score at least that many.

Question - could KSU field a team without JUCO transfers?
Next question - has the KSU basketball coach ever commented on the cruel joke played on him when he agreed to coach in "Manhattan"? Surely he is constantly complaining about not being able to get some really good capicola and bolognese. Given the size of his neck, I imagine when he learned his goomah was going to have to be from Kansas he flipped and ate his agent.
Finally, a note to our K-State visitors. I had the opportunity to visit the Little Apple back in October during Arkansas's bye week. I was up there to visit a friend of mine who is a K-State graduate (got his Ph.d from there), and he gave me a tour of the town and the campus. I was very impressed with both. You have a great college town atmosphere there and a very beautiful campus. And I think my fellow Hog fans would be impressed too if we were to ever have a home and home experience with you guys. Fayettevillians, you think Dickson Street has a lot of bars! Wait until you visit Aggieville! haha. Outside of the French Quarter, I don't think I've ever seen so many saloons all in a row! But hopefully come the night of January the 6th, it will be a case of those Aggies crying in their beer after a K-State loss to the Hogs. If not, then they will be crying on Dickson Street at loss number eight in the Cotton Bowl. Somebody is going to be feeling good. Somebody is going to be feeling bad. Those are the facts of bowl life. (Yes, grew up on 80s tv. haha.)

In answer to some questions on this site:
A) Playing Arkansas will help KSU 's reputation not hurt it. Arkansas has won 10 games in the best conference in the country the SEC in both of the last two years.
Is this KSU first 10 win season ever? Did I read that wrong?
B) Arkansas has won the National Championship albeit a good while back. How many has KSU won?
C) There is a famous game known by the whole nation as "the Shootout" vs Texas Isnt KSUs best known game an occaisional drubbing of the Jayhawks?
D) No Arkansas is not the TCU of the SEC thats Vanderbilt-----
E) We may be missing a few teeth (lol) but at least we have air conditioners instead of "swamp coolers" Yes thats right I lived in Kansas very
briefly--
F) Mountains, natural Hot Springs, rivers lakes and wildlife is better than flat flat wheatfields IMHO

maybe. they'll throw the whole family of twenty in the tractor and drive it on over to ft worth. they work on farms so they're pretty strong and honest to god what do they have to lose. we are smarter and have more money but fighting is not our strength. my suggestion for cat fans would be to stay in groups, show up late, leave early and stay in the wealthier parts of the metroplex.

No way we lose. Since 1990, we are undefeated against teams I've never heard of.
Wait why is the SEC better than the Big 12 this year?
6 teams in the Top 25, 4 in the Top 10 for starters.

How do we know Alabama is that good? Because they get to sit on their ass and play cupcakes every week?Other than Arkansas,Alabama hasn't beat anyone worth a crap. What's the difference between Alabama and Oklahoma?
Wait why is the SEC better than the Big 12 this year?

You do know that part of the formula that determines final BCS positioning is the ranking of a team at the time you play them in the regular season, right?
And you do know that voting trends indicate that often voters will give SEC opponents higher rankings so that when an SEC team defeats them, they get additional points for beating a "ranked" team, even if that team goes on to lose every other game after that, right?
Saying SEC is better because of where a bunch of voters rank you is like bragging that your dick is big because every fat girl you've slept with has told you so.
Who has the Big Whatever played OOC, much less beaten? I found only 1 team currently ranked in the BCS: Baylor beating TCU in week 1.
SEC on the other hand:
LSU beat WVU and Oregon
Bama beat Penn St
S. Carolina beat Clemson
Georgia lost to Boise St.
All teams currently ranked in the BCS.

Wait why is the SEC better than the Big 12 this year?
6 teams in the Top 25, 4 in the Top 10 for starters.
Again...do rankings really matter? I think some of you Hogz need to take a statistics class.
So says the man whose team is ranked below us.
Not what I'm getting at

I'm saying it's mathematically impossible to know who should be ranked where, let alone #1 and #2. What's the difference between #6 and #8? Could #6 be #25? Could they be #1? Should number 8 even be ranked? How do you know?
You don't.
So sick of the "SEC is so much better derp derpity derp" talk when really you clowns have no rough ridin' clue what you're talking about.
And anyone can beat anyone any given day. Big rough ridin' deal.
Yeah, things like rankings, wins, quality of opponents.....don't matter. WTF ever.
I m not trying to fuel the fire, but 5 in a row is a pretty good argument.
No it isn't. The entire system is based upon an eyeball test of a 12-13 game season with 120 teams. It's impossible to know who the #1 and #2 team are. Do you guys honestly not understand this?
Just because those crock suckers on ESPN say the SEC is the next coming of Christ, does not make it true. There's no way to tell.

How do you know who should be ranked where? How do you gauge the quality of an opponent? You can't. So STFU already about the SEC being the NFC or something.I m not trying to fuel the fire, but 5 in a row is a pretty good argument.

So what would you do? Have all 120 teams play each other?
No I understand it. Always have. And I don't agree with it either. Hell, I want a playoff but it isn't happening anytime soon. But I'm not going to be a whiny little bitch about it.
It is what it is. Live with it.
And the SEC is the best conference year in and year out. We know it. You know it. Deal with it.

It's pretty simple actually... We will keep saying we are the best until someone beats us in a NCG game.. or gives a losing record in OOC games in a season. What are we this year? 4-0 against OOC ranked teams? With two wins over other conferences champions? I think you need to re-evaluate your logic. It has never been more evident than this year. Past years I may have listened.
I've given my reasons as to why the SEC is the best conference. When your reasons are meaningless there is no need for a counterargument. How many SEC teams are not going to a bowl blah blah blah it could go back and forth until the game...just be patient.
What have you given?
I've given my reasons as to why the SEC is the best conference. The computers say Big 12:
What have you given?

There's no real argument against beating 3/5 BCS conference champions.. sucks right? Especially seeing how the BIG 12's toughest OOC games was us.
Good Game.
I just got on here to see what the hooplah was all about. Seems like the normal stuff.. We are better than you.. our conference is better.. (fill in some sort of derogatory remark that make no sense), defensive remarks when no valid argument comes to mind. We do the same thing on our boards.. you are welcome any time.

No it doesn't suck. Just because LSU beat WVU and Oregon, that does not make the SEC better than the entire Big East or Pac 12. Just because SC beat Clemson does not make the entire SEC better than the entire ACC.
I mean, if you want to play that game, then K-State beat Baylor who beat the MWC champion, who beat Boise, who beat Georgia (zomg, a powerhouse from this supposed impregnable league)
K-State must be better than the entire SEC East? Right?
Wrong.
When you're comparing head to head matchups, then they are relevant.
Quit with the 6 degrees of separation BS. Makes you look foolish.
Big 12 will have 3 conference champions playing in it next year??? How many SEC teams did not make bowl games? There's no real argument against beating 3/5 BCS conference champions.. sucks right? Especially seeing how the BIG 12's toughest OOC games was us.

You brought it on. Just because LSU beat Oregon and then cleaned house on a bunch of 6-6 teams in the SEC does not make the SEC better than the PAC 12. It doesn't.
Do you know the difference between head to head matchups and a team beating a team that beat another team that beat another team....? Or are they the same to you?
When teams from 1 conference beat the conference champions of 3 others then that makes a pretty damn good statement.
Since there can be no clear cut way to crown a NC (in your eyes) then why play the games at all? This is getting rather redundant.

3. 2 by 1 loss. I know the Big Whatever got all but one. Congrats. You could also chalk that up to the quality of OOC opponents or the lack of a full conference. Pick your poison.
I'll help you it was actually 2 Big whatever teams that didn't make it to a bowl. One of those was Tech who beat OU at OU. Wonder who OU played the next week that would allow them to overlook an opponent in a conference with the type of Offensives the Big 12 brings.Big 12 will have 3 conference champions playing in it next year??? Everybody knows the top 2 SEC teams are better than the top 2 Big 12 teams.
Beyond that it's pretty even, except the Big 12 has fewer absolutely terrible teams like UK, Tennessee and Ole Miss. Not an incredibly difficult concept here, folks.
So the SEC isn't completely dominate??? wait what :horrorsurprise:Everybody knows the top 2 SEC teams are better than the top 2 Big 12 teams.

You have 1 5-7 team. We have 2 5-7 teams.
We both had a shitty 2-10 team.
We have 9 bowl teams. You have 8.
We have 12 team conference. You have 10.
Yes they look similar. But since rankings and quality of opponents don't matter, we'll have to cut it at that. :D

Nice selective reasoning there.
And since the extra OOC game that allows for teams like Tennessees and Ole Misses to beat up on the Elons, Armies and Southern Illinois of the world to inflate their record.Everybody knows the top 2 SEC teams are better than the top 2 Big 12 teams. But since rankings and quality of OOC opponents don't matter, we'll have to cut it at that. :D
