United and City start their campaigns in 45 mins. Will be interesting to see if they can dominate like they have the first few weeks of the EPL. Napoli is no slouch and playing in Portugal isn't the easiest place to play.
-
Both Manchester teams draw 1-1.
Not surprising as United rested several key players, Giggs does become the oldest person to ever score in the European Cup. What an amazing human being.
Didn't see the game, but City had to come from behind late to draw.

Adventurous player, that Giggsy.

Matchday 2
United vs Basel at home, should be a win but United is missing Rooney, Hernandez, Cleverley, Smalling, Rafael, Vidic, and Evans
City @ Bayern - should be very interesting with lots of attacking.

since spurs aren't in it...
forza azzurri!
-
City wins @Villareal 3-0. easy win. big game for them coming up @Napoli. win sees them through to next round. draw and a result against Bayern at home gets them through. loss and they'll need a lot of help.
@QPR and at home to Newcastle before next round of CL.
-
if City advances as the #2 team out of group A which is probably the most likely scenario possible round of 16 opponents:
Inter
Madrid
Apoel/Zenit
Barcelona
if Arsenal, United or Chelsea fall to 2nd in their group that would be very nice for City since a 2nd place City has to face a 1st place finisher not from England.
-
madrid is starting to round into form. ronaldo is playing out of his mind at the moment.
unfortunately for them, barca is still better.
mcmw, i think you guys take care of napoli fairly easily. their backline has been crap lately.
-
City all but out. Need a miracle to go through. Enjoy Thursdays
-
just shows how bad EPL is
-
It's a shame the epl sucks now. Weird that arsenal is actually doing the best in europe so far
-
United and City both out :blindfold:
-
oh. sweet irony.
-
at least city played in a group with teams from countries recognized by the UN. how the hell could United not get through in what could have been the easiest group in the history of the competition?

Yeah, really crap performances. Not buying an attacking central mid in the summer was the downfall and will continue to be the downfall.
Also to blame is still playing people like Park and having to rely on Giggs, who as good as he is/was, is on his last legs. Ferdinand is past it. Young is so overrated it's hilarious. Maybe this loss will finally get Fergie to admit the squad isn't that good, and maybe (unlikely) it will get the Glazers to finally allow us to buy someone that isn't 18 years old or English. Now Vidic is out for 4 months.
Basel is ridiculously underrated though. Xherdan Shaqiri is really good and will soon be at one of Europe's elite clubs.
To be fair, group G was the easiest group ever.
-
Sack Fergie, sell Giggs

hey man nothing personal! i just really want tottenham in the champs league :(
-
Anybody know of a stream for the final?
-
Drogba :gocho:
-
Drogba!!!!!!!!
-
Sorry Brox, I also felt terrible for Fridel and his fake accent, it was akward having him on the set. Anyway great final, I can't cheer for Ribery under any circumstance. It helped that Terry was out, if he played they get rolled, he sucks and I hope he doesn't end up in the MLS this fall.
-
i'm so sad right now
-
lol @ u losers against Drogba. he's like rooting against jeter.
go royals :blindfold:
-
i'm so sad right now
Yeah, that sucks...I watched it in a bar with about 100 Chelsea fans, 15 Bayern fans and one guy wearing his Tottenham shirt. He wasn't enjoying himself too much after the game.
-
I found myself cheering for Chelsea, but I feel sad for Tottenham
