The rumblings are true. It's time once again for the annual goEMAW philanthropy, benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters. This year, goEMAW.com has registered as a small business and is competing to be one of the top 5 companies in that category, for which it would receive the golden bowling pin trophy at the awards ceremony in December. It's hoped that the ceremony will coincide nicely with the HugginsPak and that many of you can be in attendance.
Unlike every other company we're competing with, we only have one team with which to raise all the money. Despite that handicap, the goEMAW team has already raised $2,215.00 as of this posting. We'd like to raise $7,000 which would almost assuredly get us first place, but by last year's standards, $4,500 should get us in the top 5.
The event is Bowl For Kids' Sake, although the bowling aspect isn't prevalent anymore. Our team is bowling April 15, but there are no more "per-pin" pledges, and donations can be made for a month or so after that. That said, we'd like to have this project pretty well wrapped up by that weekend.
In addition to asking for straight donations, we've organized a dinner this Tuesday April 5 at Avivo Pizzeria in Wichita. Starting at 6pm, WichitaPizzaCat has arranged for a buffet dinner to be provided for the low cost of $10, with all proceeds going to the BBBS fund. If you're anywhere close to Wichita, come to this. If you're not, get anybody you know who can go to go.
Amongst others, team members include MIR, Gooch and myself. Donations can be made at:
Trim: http://kan.st/8w
MIR: http://kan.st/8x
Gooch: http://kan.st/8y
Johnny Wichita: http://kan.st/8I
A who's who of (go)EMAW celebrities have already donated. We hope you can spare a few bucks, too. We haven't asked for much (anything?) the past year+, but we'd really appreciate everyone's help on this project.
Also, Haverhill has already been put on notice that he will be banned if he doesn't donate $100. Not sure how he's coming along with that but if you like having him around, you can always donate the money in his honor to keep him here.
Please help out, and get in touch with any of us if you have any questions or any ideas on how we could spread this even more.
T-Y,
Trim
P.S. Yeah, this is one of the 3-8% of posts of mine that isn't a joke.

"small" business? lol

can my donation (no promises) be used to increase haverhill's minimum req'd donation?
-
"small" business? lol
I know, but it's judged by how many bowlers the business has entered, not revenue or anything. Can only imagine what they'd expect out of us donation-wise if they ever saw our books.
-
can my donation (no promises) be used to increase haverhill's minimum req'd donation?
I don't see why not. He's been on a whirlwind tour of the upper midwest all weekend, culminating with eating a fancy lunch with his fat cat parents. I probably set the bar low at $100. :dunno:
-
no paypal?
-
no paypal?
No, but if that's the only way you can do it, you could paypal it to me and I can enter the donation for you on my end. I think you can also just tell me how much you'd want to pledge and they'd send you a paper bill for it later. :dunno:
I should also note, there's no time like now to start planning out charitable donations for next year's tax purposes. :fatty:

would twenty bucks make me a cheapie?

would twenty bucks make me a cheapie?
Not at all!
Well, do you mean in comparison to people who've already donated or by what I'd love for all the goEMAW'rs to chip in? Yes to the former, absolutely not to the latter. There's already been 7 "ambassador level" ($100+) donors thus far. :surprised:

This isn't really how I expected the Haverhill thing to go. I thought he'd donate the $100 or round up his supper club to get it raised in his name, but whatever helps the kids!

Yeah, it's become evident that the only part of my original post that wasn't DNR was this being a referendum on Havs, which is fine.
Donors, please post here and/or as part of your pledge on the donation site whether your pledge is in support of, against or indifferent to Haverhill.

Just to make sure it's not getting lost in all the Havs talk, don't forget that the fundraiser dinner at Avivo is in just 2 nights - Tuesday, 4/5. The buffet will begin at 6 p.m. but come by any time that night.

Any thought of a KC area event?

I tried to get JHGD to set something up at Houlihan's in Manhattan but have been rebuffed so far.
We were lucky enough to have WichitaPizzaCat on the team and be gracious enough to basically donate a night's worth of business to the cause. If you know anybody in KC who'd like to help, I could definitely talk to them about a variety of options.

Now accepting donations in support of banning hemmy.
-
Since I posted this Sunday, we've raised $250 from assorted goEMAW'rs with donations ranging from $25 - $75. Maybe more if anybody from here has been donating to Team MIR or Team Gooch. Some people have donated and I don't even know whether I've choked them out in the past or bought them a beer. :dunno:
I should mention that nobody should feel they have to give a substantial amount in order for it to be worth it to us. Having a shitload of small donations will help a lot also, although Limestone might cite the Star's scientific research and point out you're a squawk if you're donating $1 or something.
As TP once said, just imagine if everyone on the site donated* $10**, we'd have a hell of a giant check to give to BBBS***. And if you can't trust TP who can you trust?
*well, he actually said "gave me"
** he wanted $10/month, we just need it once
*** he actually was thinking more along the lines of "I could quit selling life insurance and then try to sell this shithole to sd and the crew for $30K"
-
For those wanting to see how we're stacking up, the stats can be found on the right side of this page: http://sedgwick.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=460512
The important category is group rank. We need to finish in the top 5 of so-called small companies. If we can get into the top 5 of all groups, we'll obviously be set.

First time trying this. Was fantastic.
AvivoPak was a success. We raised $800, which along with Pete donating additional funds to reclaim the title of top goEMAW donor, put us back on top of the small company leaderboard by $19. However, there's still a lot of time before this thing wraps up, and all the companies that are just trailing us have multiple teams and seem to have a more consistent flow of money coming in. We really need your guys's help, however small it might be.
I mean, there's people, including some here, who pay that fat eff Fitz $10/month only to still get their info from BSAC et al right here. Surely some of you can pony* up a few bucks for the goEMAW philanthropy at this point, right?

Bad news: The BBBS lady says that a company's not considered "large" until they have around 10 teams, meaning almost every company on this list except government-types are our competition. Also, apparently not everyone else is entering their numbers online because she says we're getting crushed by Eby Construction with around $7,000.

Question - can we donate using credit cards?
I wonder if there are any posters who might need to hit their #'s for airline miles.....
Absolutely. I think that's the preferred/only way when you do it online. We'll gladly take all $2500 of the spend one needs to make to get their 100K BA miles.
If people don't have credit cards, they can PM any of us and we can take pledges where BBBS will send you a bill later or just have one get us the money via paypal or whatever and we can get it credited on our end.
FFF, still ready to take your donation via paypal...
-
steve dave wanted me to let everyone know there are no extra fees whatsoever when using your credit card to make a donation on goEMAW BBBS metal.
-
We can't necessarily "ban" OBz, but donate in spite of him anyway.

Don't forget to indicate on your pledge or in this thread whether you're for or against haverhill!

First of all, that is my son who made this donation, not me. You can cram your "apology" up your nose with a rubber hose. I don't even know who you are, but you sound like the typical goEMAW twenty-something who had never had to do anything meaningful in your entire life.
My son called me last week and asked if I wanted to also make a "donation" (a.k.a. actively subsidize teen pregnancy and encourage a further sense of entitlement in the spoiled children of today), and I of course promptly turned him down. You cretins and gutter-rats on this website have polluted his mind and unfortunately, has developed a softer heart and head over the last year or so. Five years ago he never would have given a dime to this bleeding heart organization of whiners and panhandlers. The entire concept is an utterly stupid one, devoted to spoiling the children of parents who where obviously too stupid and/or lazy to provide adequate "entertainment" for their young. I for one am not going to waste a red cent on those people. Let them fix their own problems.
But hey, if you sheeple want to propagate the problem by all means give money to this "organization". I guess ACORN didn't teach you that those people cannot be trusted with any hint of responsibility.

JFC, I thought we'd just be helping kids in the BBBS program. I had no idea we'd be getting wrapped up in a real-life father/son situation.
Whatever. Thanks Honus! And Papa 'noudj, you may not like what BBBS is all about but I'd be happy to take your donation on my page in spite of MIR and your boy!

Look Dad. LHC Bill Snyder has a mentoring program and I support that.
, "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion, came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the host, and said to him, 'Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.' Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbour to him who fell among the robbers?"
He said, "He who showed mercy on him."
Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
– Luke 10:30–37
I saw that Michael had the most humble list of donors, so I stood with him.
But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you.
Luke 14:10

I hope this doesn't get buried in the awesomeness that is the Tannoudji episode.
The fine folks at Houlihan's in Manhattan have donated 6 "Dinner for 2" $30 vouchers to be used as incentives to get some more donors.
We'll do four drawings, or whatever the interweb equivalent of a drawing is, for one voucher each with one entry going to each goEMAW'r who donated at least $10. We'll do a fifth drawing in which we give away the other 2 vouchers with one entry going to each goEMAW'r who donated at least $20.
I’ve currently got in the $20+ field: steve dave, Squawkstin Beak, clownMEAT, CNS Casey, chunkles, j_rake, EMAWgeddon, LSOC, sys, Levi, Pete, steaksdime, chicat, saulbadguy, Tortuga, mikey4dacats, chemhawk, 42, Cassidy, sonofdaxjones, j-dub (with nice guy), CartierFor3, Rick Daris and Honus(?!?). There's at least a couple guys whose screen names I don't know.
There's currently only one goEMAW'r in the $10+ range, and I don't know his screen name.
PM me if you should be listed and I don't have you down. Also post here or PM me in the future if you donate and I won't be able to figure out who you are. If I've only met you at drinking paks, I probably won't remember real names vs. screen names, if I even remember meeting you at all.
So, broke college students who haven't yet become part of the KC Star's testing field for wealth, pony up $10 and you've got a really good chance to triple your money in Houlihan's bucks. Hell, get a friend and put together $5 each and now your dinner date will be set.
Finally, I'm throwing in my just-arrived Mike Beasley signed basketball that was given to me by Fatima and thebowse.com and featured in the "Raise Your Hand" hoops board thread. I'll raffle that off amongst any $100+ ambassador's level donors. If you're the one guy who donated $100 that I don't know, PM me.
The donation period runs through at least June, maybe later, but we're hoping we'd know in May that we've raised enough to wrap things up. We'll give these things away as soon as Seth Davis goes sharpie on us having won.
T-Y,
Trim

BBBS is never going to let goEMAW participate in this again when our fundraiser spirals so far out of control that MIR kills 'Noudj.

I'm imagining 'Noudj showing up at the bowling event and a rumble breaking out in which our giant cardboard donation check gets destroyed.

Always thought that it meant "racist, hate, or very white" in some ancient religious dialect.
Shocked.
Honus, welcome bro.
-
How has no one else pointed out, in amazement, that Tannoudji is a real last name? :surprised:
That's one of many questions I'll want answers too after I'm done with all the fundraiser work.
I think I've got everyone's donations matched up to the poster now. I'll get an updated list up in within the next few days. I really want to get a bunch of the smaller donations to come in now that we've got some of these Houlihan's (Stevesie60's #1 all-around MHK restaurant) dinners to give away as prizes. Surely nobody disagrees that $10 is better spent on children and a chance at free meals than giving it to a variety of EMAW villains (TP, Fitz, OBz, etc.).

Some light reading for Tannoudji:
http://www.ppv.org/ppv/publications/assets/111_publication.pdf
Researchers found that after 18 months of spending time with their Bigs, the Little Brothers and Little Sisters, compared to those children not in our program, were:
46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
27% less likely to begin using alcohol
52% less likely to skip school
37% less likely to skip a class
33% less likely to hit someone
They also found that the Littles were more confident of their performance in schoolwork and getting along better with their families.
“We have known all along that Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mentoring has a long-lasting, positive effect on children’s confidence, grades, and social skills,” affirms Karen J. Mathis, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s President and CEO, “and the results of this impact study scientifically confirm that belief.”
“These dramatic findings are very good news, particularly at a time when many people contend that ‘nothing works’ in reaching teenagers,” said Gary Walker, then-President of Public/Private Ventures. “This program suggests a strategy the country can build on to make a difference, especially for youth in single-parent families.”

So I'm going to need some help on putting some things together.
Here's some highlights I remember and the other guys can help fill in the gaps. I'll try to do this chronologically.
We almost instantly started eating off the wrong fundraiser deal's food table. Their pizza was a lot better than the stuff we were supposed to eat.
There was a BBBS volunteer assigned to our group. As she was matching up stuff on her roster, she had no problem with my name on her page being Trim despite her boss having introduced me with my slave name minutes earlier, yet when she got to Johnny Wichita she grilled him a little bit about it.
Gooch rough ridin' sucked at bowling in the first game, at one point falling down.
A little after we got started, the late arriving group to our left showed up, led by the man who'd become known as Spitter. He started PI'ing the youth group to their left that had spread out into Spitter's space after he failed to show up on time. While not having his shirt tucked at that moment, we could see the tuck in his soul. Shortly thereafter, we witnessed his setup technique, which consisted of spitting on and/or putting his fingers in his mouth and then putting them in the public use ball before rolling. rough ridin' gross.
We flew through the first game and a bunch of beer. I think it was around then that BBBS started making announcements. Our company with one team had a couple grand more raised than every other business there. We got called up in front of everyone and presented the giant check - well, we kept it for use at the banquet or for future PAY FRANK or HIRE oscar campaigns.
Once I was kind of pak'd, I turned my attention to Spitter and started PI'ing him. At one point, I got another strike and did the DNR dance in his face. Later, after he lubed up and rolled, I told him he can knock more down without spitting and then immediately nailed another strike prompting the quote Gooch posted above.
Meanwhile, Gooch got enough beer in him to not fall down and got 6 frames into a perfect game. Most of the crowd was behind him, except for a few butthurt serious bowlers who claimed it doesn't count if you just roll it right down the middle.
MIR at one point did a much better DNR dance than I did, so that was nice.
Spitter eventually tried to make peace and gave us an "every man a wildcat" before, if I remember right saying "every man a shocker" or some wichita nonsense.
BBBS lady seemed kind of scared of the whole scene but had to deal with it since she's realized if she wants money, she needs to play nice to the EMAWs. She revealed she's an ISU grad and we revealed that a portion of the money came from people pledging towards banning the only ISU poster we have. Turns out she hates Haverhill too and told us to keep exploiting that.
Eventually we got out of there and pak'd in Old Town wehre a band was playing some classic PoetWarrior music at Rock Island.
Fun night.
We still need to raise about $3,000 more. I want to win this thing bad. We really need to put on another performance like last night's as we're being awarded the Best Company trophy at the tuck-filled banquet in December.

I think Cap Fed. They don't have anything showing online. It'll probably be mid-week before the online stats are updated with what got turned in on paper today.
Sucks that these OB teams come out of nowhere with their caveman non-online pledges. Good thing is it'll be pretty hard for them to keep getting pledges now that they turned their crap in.

Yep, here's what I know.
Bad news: There's a lot more money being raised by others this year than we planned. Here's the update I got last Thursday.
Hi Trim,
Here are the preliminary totals for each of our top small companies so far.
You are #8 right now based on the total of $4,567.
$7,590
$6,356
$6,345
$6,183
$6,075
$5,650
$4,692
$4,567 goEMAW
$3,930
We just have 2 more events and only 1 group could possibly catch up with you out of those 2 events.
GO EMAW!!!
Last year, $4,000 had my office solidly in 5th. Looks like we're going to have to be well over $6K this year to bring home a 5th place golden bowling pin troph. We've still got a couple months to get it done, but it's going to be tough.
Good news: BSAC has donated yet another fabulous prize to be raffled off to donors in an effort to motivate the EMAWs. Here is your chance to live a small part of the BSAC lifestyle in his GAME-WORN KSTATEO jacket. What's this you ask? Some of you may recall illEMAWnati night at the K last Thursday. What you don't know is that BSAC had been down in South Beach that whole week making sure things went the right way for K-State hoops. Once the situation had been resolved, he took the private jet to KC to meet up with us for the game.
We'd all anticipated a warm-weather night when we set up the event, and BSAC comes off the plane in his linen pants and guayabera. He'd have really been freezing if it hadn't been for the copious amounts of liquor he consumed on the flight. With no time to stop off at Hall's, all we could do to help him out was give him this ridiculous KSTATEO jacket that LSOC found stashed in his ride.

The jacket turned out to be good luck as the Royals staged a 9th-inning comeback to pull out the victory. Now, it can be yours. I'll wait to hear the big man's opinion before we set the minimum donation to qualify for this prize.
We still have the four Houlihan's $30 vouchers that will be raffled off to donors of even $10. JFC, $10! If you can't donate $10, you're no better than OBz who told Gooch to go eff himself when Gooch asked for a contribution to what was allegedly one of OBz' favorite causes. Guess he just likes talking about it to avoid answering football questions...
-
Just got word from BSAC, the jacket will be raffled away amongst all of the $20+ donors! That's not much to have a chance to walk around in purple nylon EMAW karma.
-
I was present when BSAC wore that and will certify it's authenticity. I believe it will still have some glitter on it from a pretty girl. Please consider.

I think you should insist on the full $1500 or whatever we need to get the troph. Where was it, Blue Springs or something?

It was blue springs. Let the bidding begin.

We're not really sure. Most teams stopped raising money after they bowled, but they keep the site open for at least a month or 2 beyond April 30 when the last bowling event is. The lady in charge knows that we're going to keep trying until we've earned a troph.
The problem with the "ban ______" method, as we saw with Havs, is that there's nobody who wants the person to stay. I'd hoped that Havs or his minions would be donating money in opposition to him being banned and the competition would drive some donations. But everyone wanted Havs banned and his feelings got hurt and he quit.
I had Saul mod the crap out of my account to where jtksu posts don't even show up, but I presume he still sucks. If banning him it what it takes to get the money we need, so be it.
-
Welcome _FAN and BW to the $20+ club!
-
To be honest I did not know that banning jtksu was an option. I might be tempted to donate more if we could get him banned.

Goddamnit, now I have to keep track of things, but that's fine. Let's go anti-jtksu'rs, you're behind the 8-ball now.
Previous havs-related donations don't count. If you want influence in the jtksu situation, you need to donate anew.
-
as a stevedave sock, i'm not conflicted.

I bet that makes it hard to post. You know, having SD's balls in your mouth and all.

No way, you put in four people that no one cares if they leave, you don't get a lot of donations. If you put in FFF, SD, RD, and LSOC, you get tons of donations. Do a daily tracker, so people know when their favorite is in last. They go straight to their savings account. Boom, roasting BBBS trophies while slow cooking in a crock pot.

We should have enough invites/tickets to cover anybody who'd be around. I think I'll have 2-4 for my different roles. Any $200+ donor gets one too from BBBS.
Unfortunately, as of Thursday night, we're still $1400 out.
Hi Trim,
I wanted to let you know goEMAW has advanced by one spot on the list of top 10 small companies.
You are now #7 with $4,697. # 8 now has $4,672
# 6 is $5,650
# 5 is $6,075
# 4 is $6,183.
Hope you get up there into #5!
Thanks!

Not sure. The chart on the website doesn't seem to be accurate at all. I'd guess about $1300. Of course, we still have John Currie's donation which should be arriving any moment plus the PSA from Snyder to unleash.
-
I'm also expecting a hefty donation from Beems with a matching company gift from First Solar.

aggieville creepster sending out mixed messages - does he hate children or love them? love to pak with them? this earned me a block or whatever.
Donate for the kids forced to pak too soon. RT @LifeofFitz @Haverhill40 Were you seriously banned from there?

He doesn't like the BBBS restrictions of only being allowed to mentor kids of your own gender and also only being able to fill the role of a sibling as opposed to an evil stepfather.
OT: Confirmed there's no date restriction other than 7/31 for helping them keep track of what awards BBBS has to send out to individual fundraisers/donors. For purposes of goEMAW winning the troph, we've got pretty much up to the ceremony in December. So, let's keep plugging away on this. I won't do this all over again next year. We'll blow our load trying to win it this year and call it good.

So, 2 squawks have donated to this, including the guy who just signed up here a day ago to rant against EMAW. If you haven't donated, you're worse than a rough ridin' squawk. Squawks.

Not sure how those of you that haven't donated can live with yourselves at this point. rough ridin' Beems threw in $20 for the cause. And God only knows what he had to do* to squeeze that out of the trustee.
*I would've said "how many dicks he had to suck" here, but his donation has earned him a reprieve for a few days.

Yeah but his "Frank 'How many dicks do I have to suck. . . ' Martin" joke is so god damn awful. I wish it were funny, though.

True, but still.
Can we go through and change the "position" on all the locals who haven't donated to something like, "wants children to get molested" or something?

Well, with the thousands of members goEMAW has, that would be pretty tough. I do need to put together an updated list of who has donated and at what level, so from who's not on that list, you'll be able to see who the shittiest people on earth are.

I naturally support all PI, but I don't want to give the impression that we won't take all donations no matter how small. There's a lot of names missing there that are much more deserving of PI.
I probably need to make a $50+ tier, huh?

Back on-topic, looks like McJunkins just pushed our grand total two bucks over $6K. Rumblings that Johnny Wichita got a major donation from a squawk to get us even in the vicinity of $6K. It's impossible to get a solid answer out of BBBS as to where we're at and if we're secure in the top 5 because other teams are soliciting mainly from OBz types that don't pledge online for instant accounting (ironic that our own OBz doesn't donate). I think we're in good shape. If you haven't donated, I expect money or a pledge at MOAP2.
-
I have no idea where we're sitting. Last time, my bro had seats right next to the ramp deal and Cena gave him his hat.

In the unlikely event you're kidding, this would actually be a good, funny, self-deprecating post.

Sadly, I'm not joking. My nephew loves that crap so I've been to some sort of WWE event pretty much every year since he was just a little guy. To my credit though, I don't watch it on TV and have very little idea who most of the dudes are.

I instantly saw a guy in a juggalo hat sans facepaint when we walked in. Wasn't jt though. Obviously. No facepaint.

As fired up as the Wichitans in my pics and videos seemed, they had to curtain off the upper deck to make it look more full. Basically ended up looking like the Orleans.

Don't forget, we'll be accepting donations throughout MOAP2.
Just last night, dlew and scary smart joined the $20+ and $10+ clubs respectively!
-
Random dude who was part of EMAWgeddon's Buss crew is in the $20+ club!
SquirrelMan is in the previously unestablished $5+ club.
Probably gonna get a final tally on all this this week and do the raffle, so try to have your CPA figure out what sort of charitable contributions you're going to need for 2011 right away.

I plan to eventually use something similar to this I found at hobby lobby for my FIRE PRINCE shirt. The jacket and accompanying ticket stub could be placed in one by the winner*.

Anyone here already auction stuff on ebay and can throw this ball up for us? Seems like we'd get more putting it up and having a link that could be posted on gpc and other places than by having people bid on it somehow in this thread.

Hell yeah. I'm thinking you could have it run to early November when hoops season is starting to get people thinking basketball and give us time to PI people into bidding, or whatever normal people do when they're seeking donations. You can decide how much you want to mention goEMAW at all in your listing, maybe not at all if we're expecting tucks to bid.

its all good, i mostly hung out with 42 while there, plus even though youve been to my home board this place is as intimidating as it gets, was trying not to eff up too bad and be smited, i too was in the "im walking but cant feel my legs crowd"
so back to the ball, if you guys are having a fundraiser i can just ship it to you and it can be auctioned off there, it has a nice glass case and would probably get more attention in person, all proceeds of course would go to goEMAW.com

MOAP2 was probably the last time to have a big get-together before we this year's drive will be over. Do you already have it put up on ebay or something? We'll get some traffic directed to it easily.
-
no i have been kinda sitting on it, didnt know if i should wait until bball season has officially started. i can put it on there today if needed, whens a good closing date?

The ceremony is in early December. We probably need to get money in by early November to get our totals right for them. How about 11/8? Maybe we could come up with a way to direct people to the auction during that hoops game.
Or don't worry about when games are, put a reserve on it with a 2-week auction, and we'll commence PI to get bids right now.
-

Put it up Sunday night. Usually campaigns launched early in the weekend don't have much impact. We'll be all over it Monday. Tell the world not to have any major conference armageddon stuff take place that day.
-

would it help the bidding if you added that the money was going to the BBBS fundraiser in the auction or whatever? I have never sold something on craigslist or ebay or anything.

No game on 11/8. You probably don't need a date. You could put a link to the donation page on your description to show where the money's going and that it's legit, plus there may be a few tucks who won't shell out for the ball but would donate a few bucks. Once you get paid in a couple weeks, you'll go on the donation page and donate whatever you made less whatever it costs you to ship it or stuff like that. Use a credit card that gets you miles/points.

are you sending the glass case thing with it? mention that too if so.
-
also, good idea by trim to just have you donate the money via the BBBS link (minus your expenses) because it will be much easier to deduct from your taxes (if you itemize).
-
You can also use these as links in your post if it would look better without that long url.

good call, not sure on the glass case, its pretty expensive and i can put in there somewhere that if it gets over 300 i will throw it in but it also houses my piece of hardwood court signed by frank (thanks user broxcore)

If you want to sell the glass case because you're trying to downsize stuff, make it so that the winner can contact you to buy it and have it shipped along with the ball. I wouldn't expect you to donate the case money though. Depending on what you set the price of the case for, it might help incentivize people to buy the ball.
-
oh yeah, don't include the case then.
-
we will see, im not sure if i want to get rid of the case ill put it in the notes probably say something like this
ball alone is 150.00 but it has a nice glass case with a wooden base that i will include if the bid reaches 300+
-

The problem with doing that is even if somebody wants to pay $300 for the ball and case, and they bid $300, ebay will only show them with a bid of $1 more than whatever the lowest bid is. I thought I remember either seeing an option or having bought something and then having the buyer asking me if I wanted to buy some other thing. Do it like that if you can, and just list that you'll sell the case to the winning bidder for another $150 if they want it.
-
ok that works, i have never sold anything on ebay before so im trying not to eff it up

Since you're donating the ball (basket-, not cancer-free), I'll allow this.

kslimlb3 is a genius here. Sell a Frank Martin autographed basketball, donate profit, win donation raffle for BSAC's game worn jacket, turn around and sell it for more than likely quadruple the amount of what you donated.

Just let me know exactly what you're throwing in and I'll make sure BBBS knows we've got another $_______ coming on 11/8. Or if you've confirmed how this all works, just charge your donation now, which I hope you're doing regardless so that you're getting miles/points instead of waiting for money to be in your bank account and jeffying it.

Totally good with the jacket too. Just glad to be a winner. My proximity is approximately 2.53 (+/- 1.3) miles away from a Houlihans. Hopefully 42 can beat that. If so, the houlibucks are his.

I currently am without kstateo anything, really. Mother and father chunkles always supply me with kstateo.
Is a quality BSAC musk still present?

They're only good at the Manhattan one, so I'll assume KSTATEO to chunkles and houlihans to 42 unless you guys say otherwise.

Don't think so. Mostly booze. That Royals game was a sloppy night. The ticket stub is still in the pocket!

If any of the winners are going to be in Manhattan next weekend for the games, I can probably have stuff delivered then. Otherwise, just PM me and we can work out how to get you your stuff.

I live literally a block from houlihans so yeah I'm fine with taking the cards. Let me know if/when you're tailgating for the A&M game and I'll pick them up.

I don't have problem with the kids getting to go over to Saul's house every once in a while to play his games, but Saul retains ownership.

Unless you think I can deduct $15k or so for my special edition X-Box?

saul's house would probably be like disney world to a little kid...and then saul would not allow him to touch anything and always make him be controller 2 and dominate the little kid without mercy on every game and rub his face in it.
yes. i can totally see saul flipping out as the kid rummages through his video game cartridges. then hijacks sauls snow cone machine and spills blueberry flavoring all over saul's limited edition sega genesis.

it could actually be two different fundraisers. one fundraiser for the xbox's for kids, etc. and another fundraiser for people that would just like to donate cash in order to get to see the sheer horror and awkwardness of five ten year olds at saul's house and he's forced to talk to them and they rummage all through his stuff. could video and everybody that donated cash would get to watch.

You don't want to have her meet me at a bar somewhere in Wichita to give it to her?

Haha this is a setup! But if that's seriously easier for you, I can arrange it!

Well, somebody needs to set her straight on who owns this place, right?
It doesn't matter. I don't know if I'll be in Manhattan this weekend, but if not, Gooch can probably leave it for you at the hotel or the restaurant at some point before Saturday night. Congrats, you Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

Actually, I'll be in KC later this week. So if you want to give me a list of bars and girls you've spread stories at/to, I can go around and clear all that up and then leave it at whichever one you'd want to pick it up at.

Yeah, we've discussed on platinum a few times. Will def be there Wednesday night for Thursday seminar. Waiting to see what the game situation is this weekend to decide if I'll stay Thursday night.
We can probably cover more ground fixing all the damage fanning did if we split up.

wildfratcountry has some cause that she's raised $13 for so far. Not sure what it's about, but she has nominated it for next goEMAW fundraiser.

So what kind of pizza does everyone want tonight? Setting up at avivo now.
The Johnny Wichita. Or the Johnny Wichita Deluxe. Probably both.
*nod to goEMAW BBBS Ambassador's Level donor EMAWgeddon
entrepemawrs needed. chance for future avivopaks.
