anybody have experience with 'paking in lawrence? will most likely be at BWW.

You've come to the right place.
BWW is not the same as in Manhattan. When I've gone, it seems like there's only families there. But they do have a ton of TV's so you can probably catch the game.
Stay off the west side of mass street when 'paking. Just trust me on this one.
My last piece of advice: If a bar looks shitty on the outside, then it's definitely even worse inside.
