First off, thanks for your service. I am interested to know your opinion of the discussion regarding Wally Judge returning next year. Personally, I don't think it will happen. But even if he did want to come back I am interested in getting the view from someone in the military.
What if someone in your squad left at a critical time, returned for a short bit and then left again when the crap hit the fan, you were at rock bottom and needed him the most. Then, after the dust settles, that person wants to return. Assume the person had perfectly legit personal reasons for leaving and is a stand up guy. Your commanding officer comes in and asks what you want to do.
What do you say? Would you go to battle with that person again?

i am in the military and there is no way you can compare the two situations. but if you could the dude would either get shot from friendly fire or sent home asap

I'm not in the military but I bought a drink for a soldier once. FPs and TCs must be left to their own when they leave the team.
-
I think they should all head to BWW, catch a UFC match(is that what they call it?), eat some wings, drink some brews, and talk about the good times and not worry about the sad times.
-
I don't understand this thread at all. Wally didn't rape or stab anyone.

Thoughts Ok_Cat? IIRC, you seem to really support those who serve our country.

Maybe we should see what LHC Bill Snyder could do with Wally? Thoughts!?

I was in the military prior to KSU and i agree with this post, but I'll play along - not a chance I trust this guy to have my back. No headcase is going to battle with me, but if I was forced to, dude would be on point during every patrol we ever had.
Kslimblb3, thanks for all that you do! Keep up the good fight and good luck with everything.

Purple Army marches on w/ or w/o Wally.
-
What a great comparison. Tons of dudes in Iraq quit halfway through the deployment because some girl they were banging doesn't love them anymore and then after they quit hang out in Iraq watching from a distance.
And Lebron admits it's a war out there too: "20+ games left in phase 2. I'm ReFOCUSED! No prisoners, I have no friends when at WAR besides my Soldiers."
Wally is no soldier
-
I have been in the Army for little while now. Just like kslimlb3 said, there is no way to compare the two situations. As for what I do in the Army, if you quit, you die. When you get into a firefight and just decide, "man I'm sad, I think I'll try something else."; you get shot in the face. For Wally's situation it's much easier, move on or pull yourself by the rough ridin' bootstraps and quit feeling sorry for yourself.
Tanks, Hell on Wheels.

Would much rather have Wally in the 'gon next year than any FTRILEYOs.

I don't know how you can't compare the two situations... we do have some military stuff on our jersey and a Ft. Riley appreciation day... jake should get a purple heart for hurting his wrist and continuing to play.. :kstatriot:

I know this is a parody thread, but the responses are really making the military guys sound like assholes. Sounds like we're talking about a capital offense if I'm following.

do we have any construction science people here? if so, my question is this.... what if you we're co-managing a job site and like ordering stuff and things and the guy that you were co-managing it with started flaking out and tweeting weird things about his gf and then after a long day of driving around and ordering and measuring stuff he says that he's done and doesn't want to hammer stuff and talk to plumbers any more with you and quits. then he tries to come back a week later. would you take him back? would you allow him to drive to home depot in your truck and stuff or not? i guess that's my question.

The maximum U.S. penalty for desertion in wartime remains death

I'm not a construction science guy, but I will say that if productivity at the job site improved by more than 200% after that guy left, I absolutely would not take that loser back.

what would you do if you were at war and in a firefight and your buddy next to you just stopped and ran away? Im not trying to sound like a bad person but it happens

But what if after the job was over at that site 2 of your best workers left and needed to be replaced. You can only find 1 guy to replace them with until Joe Bob gets back in town which wont be until after this second job site so your pretty much gonna have to do this 1 short handed. All of a sudden the guy who quit wants to come back and work. Your still pissed at him but think deep down inside he could be the best worker out of everyone. Also he has a very important father who might stop investing in your company if you dont take his kid back.

Construction Science grad here, :pops collar:.
That's all I got.
