For $2MM we got a guy that should eat up some innings and could potentially be really solid (and potential trade bait).

I preferred this move much more than acquiring Pavano or Millwood.  I think Dayton did well.  I know Mets and Cubs fans are pretty pissed we got him over them.

the royals clearly are taking a year off to gear up for next season so i am doing the same as a fan.  this will be the most pointless royals season ever.  kc should just forfeit the season at the major league level and let the omaha royals play at kauffman.

generally thats a given.  but unlike past rebuilding efforts which were aimless and could not be identified in the minors, GMDM has actually set 2012 as the target year for when its all supposed to take off and whats in the minor league system seems to back that up.  So, the front office is openly admitting how pointless this year is.
