I think 08-09 Baylor might be the better comparison. :flush:
-
At least Texas made the tournament last year. :flush:
-
We're last years OU.
-
Ouch guys. Keep your chins up. You could be the yearly Michigan State. Frank Martin could be just an angrier Tom Izzo. I predict nothing short of another Elite Eight for your wildcats this year.
-
Texas had NBA talent. We don't.

So we'll beat KU in the conference tourney?!? I'll rough ridin' take it!
-
The conference tourney win over KU would be nice, but I would much rather make it to the tournament.

I'll give you guys something to be optimistic about. (with of course, an ISU comparison)
ISU was 14-14 heading into a stretch that included @ Kansas, Texas, and @TAMU back in 2005 after a horrible beginning to the Big 12 season. Wayne Morgan pulled off those 3 games mentioned plus one more and finished 18-14, with a high enough RPI to make the NCAA tournament. We eventually lost to the National Champion North Carolina Tarheels, but that sounds a lot better than where we expected earlier in the season.

i keep hoping we are somehow mich st. theres a lot of fair comparisons that could be made like style of play and struggling early only to peak late, but then you look at recruiting and thats where the comparisons end.

You can look at recruiting all you want, but the average star rating of the players on this team is no worse than it was on last year's elite 8 team. We returned so many players with significant minutes that there is absolutely no reason for the team to have played this poorly to date.

depends whether you think last year was a fluke or the way things will remain. i contend that unless we recruit like mich st, we won't be consistently great every year like mich st.
