Hasn't found the dominance yet, but by his senior year...anyone else see this comparo?
-
If you're not commenting because you never saw Swift play, I understand. But for those who have followed college basketball for any length of time...opinions are expected.
I see Wally and I see Stromile minus the confidence and power moves. I think in time he develops into that and hopefully doesn't make the mistake of trying to be a pro too early and blossoms into more.
(Im going to hammer away this point even through his subpar performance today in an attempt to not have to think about the loss and Pullz sitting on the bench for the final three minutes.)

i don't think i saw swift play. or don't recall it, if i did.
but anyways, no.
-
I'm 25. Seriously, How can no one else remember this guy?
-
When I was little, I had a Stromile Swift rookie card.
:gocho:

did you live in louisiana? who watches lsu games? and then remembers them 10 years later.
-
I have a fantastic memory. They had the same build.
I was also raised a Kentucky fan...so that may explain a propensity to remember SEC ball.
I have lived in Kansas since 96 though. He was a freshman phenom and big in Dickie V's diaper dandy heyday.
I don't understand how anyone on this board can be a long time basketball fan from Kansas (like me) and not know anything about Stromile Swift if I do.

yeah, it's this.
-
Also explains my disdain for calling Kansas UK.... :D
-
Stromile couldn't have had as horrible hands as Wally or he would have never even gotten a cup of coffee in the league. Wally has skillets.
-
i remember him and there's probably a superficial similarity that they share with dozens of others, but he was a big time player, so it's kinda hard to get past that difference when making the comparison.
-
Well all that Wally has is upside right?
I think Wally's upside = Swift.
-
I did not watch much LSU then but Stromile Swift was all over sportscenter dunking on people's faces back then - not a good comparo with Wally (right now :crossfingers:)
-
Stromile Swift was SEC POY as a SOPHOMORE
Swift had skillz in HS that Wally just started jerking off to.
-
Reminds me more of Eric Chenowith.

Wally needs his Todd Stewart then, maybe Beth can do it?

I agree...as I said if he puts it together I think he can be that his Sr year.
I'll bump in two years :crossfingers:
-
Try TAYLOR Swift.

I would take manny or wally.

Just looked at Wally's stat line . . . Pure FP written all over it.
Either the youngster is just a complete headcase or this coaching staff simply has no clue what to do with him. I suspect he's probably going to get "right fitted" right out the door at seasons end by Frank Wooldridge.
-
Why? Does Stromile Swift suck against good competition as well? :bawl:

Now that I see this...I rescind my statements.

I would be surprised if Wally finishes his career here. Just an IMO.
