I love the opining statement by the first guy. Actually, I love that people do it at all. It is like they are doing journalists some favor. The worst part about it is for the most part it works, many journalists these days are spineless. Nobody wants to put their foot down and say, "Answer the damn question."

absolutely true. also true that the journalist owes their readership/viewership a reasonable attempt to get answers that are of interest to the audience.
an interesting question and a no comment is better than a dull answer to a dull question.
