Title: hallway and sidewalk walking
Post by: pissclams on December 14, 2010, 09:06:18 AM
this thread is meant for the dumbasses that don't know how to walk down a hallway or sidewalk.

hallways and sidewalks should be treated like roads.  don't walk down the wrong side of the hall and expect me to move out of your way, dumbass.  don't expect me to excuse myself for you walking down the wrong side of the hall either, dumbass, because it's not going to happen.

don't walk down the wrong side of the sidewalk while staring at your cell phone or things will get really ugly.

Easily in the top 3 of my pet peeves.

I'm surrounded by idiots at work that don't know this.

Also, don't stop and have a convo with someone at the one point in a whole hallway or sidewalk where there's a bottleneck.  Or stop right where you are and turn around.  I'm following right behind you dumbass!!

I cussed out an old lady because, for some reason, she missed the gigantic american flag in front of the mall, thought we were in england, and started walking down the incorrect side of the aisle.

Also applies in the grocery store(and really anywhere there is any form of traffic).  I will no doubt make the news some day for killing someone in the grocery store.

Problem here, at a place like Walmart they fill the middle of their walkways with crap so it creates two lanes. That means I often get stuck behind some eff moving at a snails pace which forces me to jump into the left lane to pass.

My pet peeve:  people who follow right behind me in the hallway.  I always stop abruptly and turn around just to upset these dumbasses.

Passing is fine, just like it is in any other form of traffic.  Respecting the form is what makes this possible.

walmart quit putting stuff in the walkways because surveys told them that it bugged people.  the hallways should be much wider and open now, similar to how target does it.  that was their model.

I get most annoyed by people who walk slow on sidewalks. I generally walk extremely fast, and nothing pisses me off more than two people walking side by side ... one ... slow ... step ... at ... a ... time.

That's the WORST :chainsaw: , especially when traffic is heavy from the opposing side. I tend to feel like a real creep upon being so close to the person in front.

If you are in, say, Bermuda, would you walk on the left side?  If not, I see some real problems here with international environnments like airports and large multinational corporation headquarters.

Because you can't drive your car on the sidewalk.

People who walk while on escalators are dumbasses and should be using the stairs.  How hard is it to understand an escalator?

You ride an escalator.  Therefore, it doesn't matter where you stand, as you all move at the same rate.

I bet in the future all sidewalks will be moving sidewalks like at the airport.  And at crosswalks instead of just an orange light with a picture of a hand telling you to stop it will be an orange light picture of a robot hand.

Walking on an escalator is faster.
