Title: Eyeballs
Post by: _33 on November 30, 2010, 10:58:38 PM
Why aren't more eyeballs poked out?  There are lots of things in the world that are the perfect shape for poking out an eyeball.
And eyeballs are just big open spots of jello on your face.  Seems like more people would have their eyes poked out on a daily basis, but I hardly ever seen anybody with only one eye.   :dunno:

I used to think the same thing, but then I tried poking myself in the eye and couldn't do it.

It took me like a year of wearing contacts before I could touch my own eyeball.  Guess having a less sensative blinking reaction is probably not a good thing.  :dunno:

<---knows 3 people who have had their eye poked out.  They now have really bad fake eyeballs that stare in the wrong direction no matter where they are looking.  It makes it hard not to stare at there fake eye.

Your town needs some sort of eyeball safety awareness initiative, or something.

Also, did they all lose them the same way, and how?

Also, Eye patches are awesome.

Now I'm thinking about wearing safety glasses 24/7.

Just put the visor down on your helmet.

think about dogs.  they constantly ram their heads into bushes and fences and crap.  plus fight each other around the head and attack other scratchy animals.  but i've never seen a dog with a glass eye., which just goes to show.

Has anybody ever seen a one-eyed blind person? You would think it would be easy to poke their eyes out, but I've never seen one.

Can eyeballs heal?  Like, if a nail went into my arm it would hurt but eventually it would completely heal.  Would your eyeball heal if it got stabbed with a nail or would it not work anymore?

if you want the eyeball to pop and then the eye liquid to ooze out, i think you have to heat the nail up pretty good.

I think its all pretty much one big bunch of nerve cells, which don't tend to heal too well.

Supposedly eye tissue is the fastest healing tissue in the body.  I've scratched my eye numerous times. It heals within like a day.  Not sure about poking it with a nail (which may or may not be hot) though.  And the majority of the eye is filled with a jelly type of substance. (Vitrious humor?). Only the front portion is filled with a liquid.(Aqueous humor?)

Apparently nobody is more worried about their eyes than Marcus Jordan. The ones he had on tonight looked like something the Mythbusters would wear. You'd think with his dad having pretty much the best style of all time he would have a clue.

Do you think fake eyeballs feel like the real thing?

Probably feels weird at first but after a while I'm sure you don't even notice.  Just like a new pair of shoes.
