From Cassidy's piece today...
The issues, painstakingly enough for the program's veteran head coach, were familiar.
"First, we couldn't tackle anybody," Snyder said. "Then, we couldn't tackle anybody.
"We're just not getting the message across to the young people who play the game."
That dumb son of a bitch is going to spend the next month focusing on tackling drills, instead of recruiting.....AGAIN. Instead of finding players who are physically capable of being in the correct position, he's going to drill the crap out of his trash talent in a long-shot attempt to squeeze the last ounce of performance out of them.
Similarly, this stubborn bastard is allowing himself to fail in the EXACT SAME WAY that he failed last time, with POOR assistant coaching.
The EXACT SAME MISTAKES.
WE rough ridin' TOLD YOU ASSHOLES THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN.
-
Knowing OB he'll have the staff in full lock down mode "preparing" for the Bowl Game and won't let them do any recruiting until after the Bowl.
We'll likely read stuff like, "I haven't heard from K-State in weeks".
-
No, pretty sure he learned his lessons from tenure #1 and won't make that mistake again. :nono:
-
Like I said all along, Snyder is playing us..he wants us to hate cosh so much that when he brings his ol buddy Elliot back the powerfucksticks will be on their knees, thanking their Savior for his upgrade. We're all rough ridin' doomed, and we know it
-
I took this statement:
"We're just not getting the message across to the young people who play the game."
as bill actually thinking of changing the people that are getting the message across. :dunno: the thought of extending snyder's tenure to "give the new dc some time" is a scary thing. gives the Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) coaching staff more time to bring Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) kids into the program (sans the transfers, keep that up OB).

Ya, I nearly gasped out loud when I first read that (afraid to even allow myself to believe it for a moment).
Jim Leavitt hitting that kid may turn out to be the greatest thing to ever happen to OB.

The crazy thing is, Snyder may be able to get the gang back together if he really wanted to

It would be smart to get Mangino back, but they hate each other, so that's out. Obviously the Stoops boys and Venzy aren't coming. He's got Dimel, and Leavitt is there to be had (presumably)....but I don't really see any others (of any worth) he could get. :dunno:
-
:facepalm:
i rough ridin' hate anybody who wanted Snyder back. We're stuck in 7-5 and a bowl mode for the distant future.

I don't think we'll do THAT well...I'd take 7-5 again.
Here's my guess at the conference slate next year:
BU = Loss
MU = Loss
@TT = Loss
@KU = Win
OU = Loss
@OSU = Loss
aTm = Loss
@UT = Loss
ISU = Win
If the Tech game were at home, I'd pick us to win that one...it's a tough place to play. aTm is solid with Ryan Tannehill at QB, and Baylor will be just as good (better) next year....UT at Austin swings that one against us as well.
If we improve quite a bit, the odds are that we still win fewer games...it's going to be brutal in conference with this setup.
Getting better every day (which hasn't happened this year) doesn't mean jack crap unless you are getting better relative to your competition.

Mangino will most likely have a decent gig going into next year. Some school in C-USA or something will give him a chance. Miami was the first big domino to fall, so there will be at least two or three openings coming from that alone. Same with Minnesota.
I could see Leavitt coming back if nothing more than to rebuild his image. He doesn't have to be HCIW to come here. Every year he sits in Tampa and does nothing, it's one more year that the last thing on his resume displays, "Fired for allegedly hitting a kid."
I'd love nothing more than to see Mo step down, Joe Bob to go (which won't happen, but I digress), and then watch us bring in Wesley McGriff from Miami (maybe this time he'd stay for more than a few months?), bring in Leavitt, and then go get Chris Wilson from Mississippi State to Co-DC with Leavitt.
THAT would be an upgrade from a recruiting and coaching standpoint. I'd keep Burns. What he's done with the patchwork CBs and Zimmerman have been great.

Yea, Snyder really salted the eff out of that wound with 64-0. On the other hand, I'm sure Mangino wouldnt mind fist-rough ridin' Gill/KU. A boy can dream :love:

hey bro
cool story

Man, you guys are the epitome of RE-TARDED. Literally. I do think it's neat that your caregivers and para-professionals taught you to use the interwebs though.

It has never meant jack crap. It is some hokie mentoring phrase that he got positive feedback on so he took it and ran. Like Mitch Holthus and any number of his moronic phrases.
