*Somewhat Old Balls
LHC Bill Snyder was on the North Texas staff under coach Hayden Fry for three years from 1976-78 when the Mean Green won 7, 10 and 9 games for the most successful three-year stretch in NT history.
Immediately after being hired, Snyder and his wife saw cars around the North Texas basketball arena, so they decided to support their new school by attending a game. Approaching the ticket window, they learned tickets were going to cost $20.
"We thought, 'This is crazy. This is big-time athletics,' " Snyder said. "But we were feeling better about life than we should have, so we bought the tickets and went in to find our seats."
On the arena floor were rows and rows of chairs, and upon finding an usher, they learned that their tickets were for a Willie Nelson concert.
As Snyder tells it, "Now, we were Californians. We were new on this block. We didn't even know who Willie Nelson was, so we got our money back and went home."

That is pure gold. Was this one of those "creative writing" deals where they change the places/times to protect the involved parties? I think this might've happened a few times this year.
-
he's always acted like old ballz, obviously.
-
I always though Bill was from Missouri.
-
He is, dumbass.
-
Pretty sure he still doesn't know who Willie Nelson is.
-
He's a Californian, from Missouri? :dunno:

Was a high school swimming coach in California before he became a football coach.
For some reason I don't think Snyder listened to music. Would have required too much of his attention and distracted himself from what was important, whatever that was.

Pretty sure he still doesn't know who Willie Nelson is.
Willie Nelson died 3 years before he was born. Shows what you know.

He's a Californian, from Missouri? :dunno:
Also was a GA at USC under John McKay one year.
-
And he'd actually coached in TX before the UNT job. Just thought it was odd that he associated himself so much with California.
-
Hey dumbasses. He was in California for 10 years.

Doesn't change the fact that Snyder was a massive dumbass in this story.
-
Yeah, I've seen that site too. He coached at Matthew Lilard's alma mater!

:runaway:
The singer, who had been traveling from California to Austin,
