Title: Dx: junkyard style not getting it done at the highest level
Post by: chum1 on November 24, 2010, 10:12:19 AM
let's face it.  junkyard only gets you so far.  time to lose this gimmick.  now, imagine the old princeton o with our athletes.  it's like princeton on roids.  basically, we need smarter players.  to attract them, we need to transform ksu into one of the premier research institutions in the world.  an oxford of the manhattan/ogden/junction metroplex if you will.  now, if you'll excuse me, i'm going to go grab a slice and think about this idea some more.

the old lady down the street had me go pick some groceries up for her (she always gives me a $5 spot for my trouble, LMAO) so I was late getting to read this post.  In summary, I agree.

It's not a gimmick, it's a way of life. And the answer is obviously more.

We can beat 95% of our opponents with whatever style you want to play purely because we have better athletes and more depth.  Last night, the game against Butler, ole miss to
some extent, squawk games, osu last year are all examples of our style of play not working for basically two reasons; 1)  you don't pressure players that are better athletes and of
a higher skill level.  2)  don't pressure smart teams that prove they can burn you with it.

If you buy this argument then we need to learn to play a style that we can beat the dukes, butlers, and kentuckys with, and practice that style with everyone else.

Things I could go the rest of my life without seeing

guards constantly taking us to the hoop, drawing a foul or finishing
giving up multitudes of back cuts in one game
charging in the lane all night
always being a step or pass slow mentally on offense
looking timid, defensive on offense on the perimeter
shooting a Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) level of 50% from the line

What a dumbass you are Daris/Obama.  You must not have noticed we have a politics board here at goEMAW with a large contingent of posters who'd love nothing more than to tell you right to your internet face what a muslim communist you are.  And by the way, I'm not actually Laimbeer, I'm a mod here at goEMAW and I'm inclined to move all this to the politics board and lead you to slaughter.  I hope Jeffy and the boys don't get too sleepy from the turkey today and are geared up to let you know how you're destroying OUR country.

gee, that's a great question dlew12. if i wasn't so busy scooping mashed potatoes and gravy, i'd ask one of the photographers from time magazine how he did it. unfortunately i have a country to run and potatoes to scoop and bill laimbeer to clown on kansas state message boards so as you can see i'm kind of busy. maybe i can get the time photographers twitter account info and he can tweet you the 411 on how he got the "life" watermark on there.  :dunno:
