he picks ksu to win big 12
final four: Duke, tOSU, KU, Illinois

Thinks get in at 9-9. Weak field. Just win at home vs TCU, ISU, OSU and Tech. Just pick one up @TCU, OU, or Texas and we'll be fine.

Look at my team comparison in the bracketology thread. Its not hard right now, we're in.
Things will change a lot in the next month though.

He played well in losses to KU and Tech. He was bad in losses to Tenn, ISU, Baylor, and Maryland.
He was really good in wins over WVU, OSU, OU, and UT.
Against Tennessee, Iowa State, Baylor, and Tech his offensive rating average was 73 and he scored 2.5 PPG.

ok. just one then. either way, one or two is fine.
dude is way too laid back, doesn't go get the game when it's not brought to him.

Then the best win would be a home game against #7West Virginia, who put away Iowa State without much trouble last night. I still don't understand how WVU lost to us...other than the whistles were on full throttle...
-
THE REFS!!! Our "A" game is pretty decent, even though we didn't play our "A" game that night. WVU matches up well against ISU (defensive pressure). Our D doesn't match up well against ISU, especially on the road.

For one, we aren't a terrible basketball team. We aren't even really a bad basketball team.

I'm still ticked about last week, we should have won at least 1 of those games. This team still could fall apart and come crashing down, especially with a loss tonight. But I also stepped back and looked at the fact that this team is a) still in good shape for the tournament and b) not a terrible basketball team. I don't let my dislike for oscar get in the way of looking at those things.

Agreed. So, an average team. Just another bubble in the bath tub, sounds like. I aspire for more...but then again...look at Texas hoops right now...or Oklahoma for that matter.

No question. But if I was AD, I couldn't fire oscar if he makes the tournament this year. If you were going to allow him to rebuild the roster after the issues a couple years ago (and clearly Currie did), then you were going to give him a shot to see what that roster would do.
So I get the mentality from many that "Currie will never fire oscar", but I think oscar just got a stay because Currie agreed with his rebuild. Now I think he's on the clock to take that rebuild and have success. We've lost multiple winnable games this year, but so far he's avoided the really bad losses and with a month to go this team is on the right side of the bubble. And looking at the current bubble, he has to do a lot to get off of that bubble. I've said it before, but I'll never reach a point where I root against K-State even if I dislike the coach. I have stupid emotional reactions when we lose, but I usually level off and move back to supporting the team. That's where I'm at now.

We will beat KU, you heard it here first

absolutely, which is why i'm a little torn on whether i want us to make the tourney. i know that sounds horrible, but i am pretty confident we stand no chance of making a run. so getting in as a 10 seed, losing, and keeping oscar is worse than missing the tourney and getting rid of oscar, imo.

I understand this completely and while I tend to sway on the brink after losses (like last week), I usually swing back to hoping for wins.

I want wins and I want an NCAA run.
If oscar makes the NCAA and losses in the 1st round, he's not going. He should go, but he won't.
Youngster Dax remembers back when it was harder to make the NCAA Tourney some extremely exciting NCAA tourney runs (and some heartbreaking losses to eventual national champions) and the last Elite Eight run with Frank was a blast, and we lost to the team that was a shot away from the natty. Not having a good NCAA run every 2 or 3 years is :frown: The 90's and early 00's was excruciating and not really placated at all by football success.
Now we've got this effing loser who literally goes into the games hoping the other team will suck. Eff this!

i agree with this dax poster, eff this

I'm completely done with oscar. I don't ever really root hard any more
