Post by: Benja on November 19, 2010, 10:31:54 AM
Did they just blow something up in my backyard?

My house has been rumbling for two days now.

It's been there all morning. We're on the west side of town though.

Thought it was thunder yesterday and was all confused, then felt like a Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

I don't hear much at work here in JC...you would think you would hear it some, but apparently it's farther north.

Have they not been doing that lately?  Seems like they did it about twice a month while I lived in MHK.  I kinda dug it but I wasn't living or working in JC.  That would have probably sucked in JC.

The Army had tanks up on the hill doing gunnery. Videos to follow in the next two weeks if anyone wants to see.

I'm surprised this is a new occurance for you guys.  They used to do it pretty frequently.  Wonder why they stopped for a while?

Guess shooting on a hill is better than stabbing in silverados.  :dunno:

We used to go through light bulbs like crazy.  Vibrations killed them prematurely.  Used to be damn near a weekly thing for a while there.

I am in my 5th yr at ksu, and they have been doing this as long as I can remember. Some people just don't pay attention I guess.

JC sucks but not for that reason. Manhattan and JC are about equal distance from the practice range. What's really fun is playing golf at Colbert with people who have no idea how close they are to post.

Does Riley use the range @ Smoky Hills at all or is that just Air Force stuff?  I go hunting up there about every year, some really nice muleys there.

So we're getting our asses kicked 'nam style over in Afghanistan and these lazy fucks are shooting at the side of a hill over in Junction City?  What do we pay them for?

Idea:  Even if you just need practice you may as well go to some foreignor place and practice because at least you will be keeping them up and blowing their lightbulbs out.

^This is why I should be in charge.

Tanks can't climb up mountains. That is why we have the Light Infantry.

If you think you can get up there and do a better job, I will give you the number to my recruiter and see if you can do better. Just PM me so I can give you the info.

I don't know how to drive a tank or anything but I can raise drunken hell in bar districts with the best of them*.  Do I qualify?

*I'm a little squeamish about the idea of actually stabbing somebody; would rather shoot from a little bit away.

Have you guys seen the movie "Tank"?  So this old guy is nailing a waitress or something and he gets blamed for something else or whatever so he gets this tank that he owns and drives it around and shoots stuff and some bikers help him and he gets to some other county or something where everything is alright and he doesn't get in trouble for the tank thing.  wow, amazing movie.
