I think that's what it is/where it will be :dunno:

I was under the impression that that site is where super-elite NBAF is going. At least somewhere around there. Maybe that is NBAF?!

Part of the impetus for the new feed mill is the selection of K-State/Manhattan as the site for the new $650 million National Bio- and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) laboratory to be built by the Department of Homeland Security. NBAF will replace an aging BSL-3 (Bio-Safety Level 3) facility on Plum Island, NY. The site chosen for NBAF is the current site of the K-State Department of Animal Sciences feed mill which, like its Grain Science counterpart, is well beyond its useful life, Behnke said. Prior to completion of NBAF, the ASI feed mill must be replaced.
Wonder where they will put this thing then...
Answer:
Schulz noted that “the new feed mill will enhance K-State's already strong ability to support the Department of Homeland Security’s National Bio and Agro-defense Facility. With the new mill just across the street from NBAF, K-State can provide specialty livestock diets to support infectious disease experiments, oral vaccine studies and other trials under high level bio-safety controlled conditions. This work cannot be done anywhere else in the U.S.”

Well, prepare yourselves for more national television shots of cows and now this thing
-
If this ends up being the tallest structure in MHK I will burn it to the ground. :opcat:
-
That will be the new feed mill/biofuel facility at the grain science complex.
Right next to the already elite flour mill

The new-ish buildings across the street from BSFS.

why don't they put that further north on denison past the fire department? :dunno:

The grain science dept doesn't have access to that land probably. And maybe they want to keep it all close together :dunno:
I can ask one of my teachers or something
-
99% sure its there land and its closer to all the livestock. :dunno:

Think the new equestrian center is going somewhere in that area. It might be more towards Tuttle Creek Blvd. behind the retirement home though...
So many new, elite buildings in MHK.

It is but that one is used by vet med I think
99% sure its there land and its closer to all the livestock. :dunno:
Yeah but it's not there to feed any livestock. It's for experimental purposes and to show off to the industry and other schools etc...

According to the article, the new one will be shared by grain science and feed milling science or w/e. The article makes it sound like a really elite facility though.

Feed science is part of the grain science dept so yeah it's the same thing. And it should be one of the more high tech bio-refineries in the world, just as the flour mill is/was one of the most technologically advanced mills in world when it was finished in '06. Pretty elite

god damn it I thought it was going to be NABF(?)

Are they still doing that Rec Center expansion?

Are they still doing that Rec Center expansion?
Yeah, the student body passed the raised tuition fees last year to fund it. Construction is supposed to begin this Spring.

It looks like you have NBAF a little too south...

This. The plans look pretty elite. More courts so the soccer people don't take up hoops space, rock wall, food court/juice bar thing, bigger indoor track and lots more machine space.
