No doubt there is already a 17 page thread on phog to match their 20+ page K-State game threads.

What do you expect from a fanbase comprised of a significant number of non college attending bandwagoners who derive their entire sense of self worth from a basketball team??  I've said this many times . . . any notoriety or acclaim K-State basketball gets absolutely tears a new bad person into the collective psyche of the vast majority of ku fans.

Cripes, just beat Duke. That cover for the ESPN mag was atrocious. And Vtech victory in November is about as cool as that Butler W. Yea sure they had a number beside their name, but really?

Didn't VT have the returning leading scorer from the super amazing ACC or something?  :dunno:  Seems like they were supposed to have that number by their name, no?

duke is cool because they can recruit at such high level and maintain amazing academic requirements.  it's going to be hard rooting for the Cats against such high quality and high character opposition.

Well, they are the best program in the country, obviously.  So, from that point it's going to be a rare treat to see our Cats play the best program in the country....so, I am not going to really "root" for either team, and just sort of drink it all in....it's a "cultural event" if you will.

Beating a ranked team at home is not what makes this a good win.  The fact that our All Big 12 forward didn't play, our first team all american played 1/3 of the game and we won decisively is what makes this a good win.

I want to change my answer to this, too.  This one is the reason, not as much mine,  but more this one.

Yep.  This game was won by a bunch of soph's, a frosh, and a transfer.

At one point, on the floor, I saw Russell, Irving, McGruder, Samuels, and JHR on the floor at the same time.

And they were still beating the crap out of VT.

Same line up but sub Sprads for Russell with same result.  Lots of youth time.  Gonna be a good thing in the near future.
