Marty (1st half at least) a lot better than you're giving credit for. Otherwise agree.

What did Tav do that you didn't like?

he had a turnover?

Wasn't terrible, but didn't impress either. Just not much to report is all.
-
Hit some threes. Created a nice jumper in the lane. Not sure what more you want from a bench guy.

this. he is a role player and he plays his role well.
also find it interesting that JHR played the most minutes out of the post players

Thought JHR played decent tonight. Loved the dunk. If he can take some initiative down low on offense, he could really help out. Rebounded better than any of the other bigs, which isn't saying a lot.
-
No CK and Spri playing with his head up his ass equals lots of minutes for Henriquez. Oh, and Wally sucked, too. Assuming CK gets back to last years play- I still think we're better at the 4/5 spots than last year. (Or will be soon.) And I think we end up with better offensive production out of Russell, Sprads, HotRod, Irving, etc than we did out of Denis, Dom, and the other role players last year. JMHO here guys, don't hate too hard.

he appeared to be the best defender/rebounder of the bigs that played tonight. his offense leaves a lot to be desired.
-
Colon's O was non existent and I think JO's defense is better. At the very least we're no worse with JO in there than we were with Colon and his 3" vertical.
-
Jake is even better than expected if possible (we will go on long periods of suck when he's not in)
Asprilla is worse
Jamar is worse
Irving is better
I hope nick stays on the good side of frank
JHR is ok
Wally is disappointing
Sprads is better
McG is finally up to expectations (which were high)
nobody else registered enough to talk about
-
Oh btw... I know one thing about Tave that ticked me off. 0-3 from the line after getting fouled on the 3. Pretty terrible for a shooting guard. Other than that he was "ok".
-
Pullen also missed all 3...
-
True, but he also finished 7-11, and he's proven himself from the line. Marty hasn't.
Here's hoping the terrible FT shooting was because Martin has been working their tails to the nubs in practice.
-
ALERT!: % from the line has zero percent to do with sd rankings! Do not associate tard talking points in this thread to official sd rankings!
-
ALERT!: % from the line has zero percent to do with sd rankings!
That makes two zero percents.

That makes two zero percents.
the lower % is the one to take on record
-
All the national experts talk about our front line and its depth but :nono: it will be the guards that carry this team offensively
-
You would think the outside shooting would help our bigs...
-
You would think the outside shooting would help our bigs...
not when the guards ignore them...
-
Or when we fumble every entry pass...
-
Or when we fumble every entry pass...
i'd have to go back and watch the game again but a lot of times when bigs fumble passes its because the guards arent making good entry passes.
also an interesting stat, outside of jamar, the bigs only took 11 shots... asprilla only attempted 1.
-
Yeah, not every entry was a good one but I see bigs all over the country handling passes like that. Freddy is the only one with good hands. Wally and JO need to keep the damn ball higher when they do catch it. We'll be fine though, these things can be fixed.
-
GPC Talking Point:
McGruder > Dwayne Wade
-
Mcgruder finished above the rim much stronger than I thought possible!!!
-
I like when Sprilla' gets the ball at the top of the key and holds the ball out for one of the guards to come grab on a curl and then sticks his butt out to pick the defender.

Jake - I want to kiss him on the mouth
Rodney - Hard to look. Too beautiful.
'Tay - exactly what we thought he would be
JHR - Stable. Same player with less :horrorsurprise: while on court
Sprads - :driving:
Jamar - :shy:
Freddy "Flatfoot Foul Factory" Asprilla - :frown:
Wally -

Curt, Nino, DPete, Shane - :users:
Nick "I really want to be here next year" Russell- :woot: Now get your feet to stop being Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) on D.
Myles - Pack your cac bro.
-
Wally is mystifying. If you had never viewed a highlight tape of Wally dunking, or had never watched clips of him playing against high school kids half his size.....and instead only watched him in college, you'd consider him to be slightly worse that Manny Dies and Matt Siebrandt.
He is NOT good at basketball.
-
Who the eff coaches our bigs? They were constantly out of position on defense. JMU's bigs had the ball one inch from the basket dozens of times, we were just praying to block a shot from behind, or from under the basket. The other team should not be able to catch the ball that low. Push their asses out!
This is going to be a huge problem if not remedied.
-
Our guards are looking pretty dece.
Did you guys see Denis last night? Neither did I :bawl:.
Did you guys see how fast we pushed the ball in transition? Neither did I :bawl:
Our guards will be better than I thought this year(thanks Nick and sprads). I really wish we had a fast Puerto Rican on our team this year.
