your geographic destination is irrelevant. this is dfw and ord getting loosy goosy vs each other.
-
Much higher chance of getting delayed in ORD so, ORD
-
am i free to roam from termy to termy? or am i stuck in one specific termy?
very important q, imo. won't answer til i get a response.

you can roam around freely in dfw.
in ord, you can roam around freely in all domestic terminals, but cannot enter international. it makes me sick, honestly.
but, there is just something big-time about ORD that DFW lacks.....

seems like most people in dfw are on their way to a nice vacay, while those in ord are on their way to an elite business trip. knowwhatimean?

DFW. Better chance of running into bigdcat.
-
the food is much better in ORD
-
ORD
-
ORD, I see it less often than DFW anymore. Hopefully I can correct this
-
anyone saying ord has never been to an airport before. i was thinking about making a 30 minute comedy special to air on hbo about people who like ord but the material was more suitable for a 90 minute routine. i couldn't sell hbo on 90 minutes so i just threw the project into the files to die.
who knows, maybe it's the texan in me that loves dfw. ever since ctr started i've felt like an honorary texan/lone star stateian.

Terminal D in DFW
:AA:
-
DFW has a TGIFriday's where I watched that crazy Miami/FSU game from the beginning of the '09 fooboo season, so DFW.

yes. vacateers going to dfw = vacaying in amarillo
vacateers layin' to ord= elite europe tripe
businessmen to dfw = big time meeting in houston
businessmen layin' ord = sealing the deal in NYC

This. The only airport that has a worse case of AIDS than ORD is Hartsfield. Airports in old big cities always suck hard (see SFO, anything NYC, Logan, Lambert, etc.)

MUCH rather go ORD. Have never been forced to walk a mile underground through stifling heat and piled up human waste to reach a connecting flight after a delay. Which WILL happen at DFW if you go through there enough. Plus the folks in Chicago just have that midwestern stupidity about them that makes them very nice. Kind of like being in Iowa only these people aren't delusional and realize they're not elite.
Hope that helps!

i know some people on showtime who are interested in this. they're wanting to make it more of a celebrity roast type thing though where you and i and other people would roast ord and make fun of it for being as horrible as it is. i know this isn't your original concept, but they are willing to give 90 minutes or even a full 120 if you think there is the material for it. i told them i'd check w/ you and get back with them within a week. let me know what you think.

Absolutely hate ord. Always busy and flights are never on-time. Never gone through it without having a problem.

great news that you shared with me in your post. thanks! i also have great news as well. i spoke with some very important people at CNN and they are interested in this project as well. their idea is to do a weekly 180 minute celebrity roast of ORD. the concept, which i think is pretty solid, is to have you and I host the roast each week and have 5 different famous celebrities come in each week and join us in roasting ORD. i wasn't sure about 3 hours and have actually contacted some of the mods from this site to do some moding to understand if the concept (weekly/180 mins) can be supported? mods? feel free to add any input you might have in this space.
i have a feeling we will max between 120 and 150 minutes and the remaining 30 minutes will almost come off as filler. CNN won't accept anything but 180 minutes. on the flipside, CNN is honoring an agreement that they made with me years ago to globally televise any of my projects. we're talking worldwide broadcast, not domestic.
just something to think about as we move forward on the ord celebrity roast concept. i look forward to our further discussions specific to this topic and am available anytime to brainstorm more ideas.
thanks, clams.

hmmm...interesting. my initial reaction was to say that yeah, 180 minutes is too much time and that at most we could only probably squeeze 150 to 160 quality minutes out on the absolute suckiness that is ord. while i still think this is true, my question now is....with this being broadcast globally, do you think cnn would be up for 20 to 30 minutes of maybe highlighting other comparable horrible airports from around the globe? are there even other airports that are comparable to ord in terms of horrible quality? i don't know that answer and i don't know what cnn's response would be but it's certainly food for thought.

i think the compare/contrast global airport vs ORD is a good idea and it's actually one that i've already pitched to VH1 for possible production. i signed a contract with them this morning and they now own the rights to the production so CNN is out on this one.
thoughts on spending time going termy by termy at ORD during the roast and hosting at ORD? could take longer breaks during 180 minute broadcast and focus on ORD traveller interviews?
thanks- clams

clams,
that's a great idea. i suppose we could just save some money and meet up somewhere in the middle of a field of manure though as most viewers at home probably would not even notice the difference and then we could spend the production savings on something like fireworks or a frisbee catching dog or similar. thoughts?
btw-i used to know a guy at fox but heard he has since moved into corporate. i still went ahead and had my secretary get his contact information. i'll fire off an email when i get the chance this afternoon. who knows, probably a dead end but we'll see if anything comes out of it.
respectfully,
daris

is there anything in ORD like DFW Terminal D?
tia
Is D the international terminal (also has AA flights and where the troops come home) that has an indoor version of an outdoor shopping mall? If so, the answer is no.
Is D the old sh*tty terminal where regional flights go out of and is usually completely empty? if so, yes
Is D the one that you usually fly out of to go to KC, where the toilets are all overflowing with crap, and it looks like the sink was used as some sort of hazmat repository? If so, yes

Anybody take the MHK-ORD today? :AA:
-
Just booked my holiday flight to MHK through DFW instead of ORD. Would rather not take a chance on Chicago winter weather, you know? (Planes, Trains and Automobiles taught me that.)
Other than that issue, ... :dunno:
