TITLETOWN - A Decade Long Celebration Of The Greatest Achievement In College Athletics History => Kansas State Basketball is hard => Topic started by: Pett on November 09, 2010, 07:41:17 PM

They showed that on the video screen during the Washburn exhibi. Is that right?. Every student looked to their buddy red faced with tears in their eyes and say no, no way can that be right. Knowing we wasted money buying full priced tickets before that deal was announced.
-
You sure it wasn't sprint game? I'd think that would be an unfair advantage for CBE, but not as much for Sprint.
-
Wouldn't be all that surprised if it was the CBE games. There may not be many available but at least it would a way to totally fill the place so it looks good on tv...
-
99% sure that is the CBE games
-

It was the CBE, ticket sales are lagging a bit, this is a way to get more asses in the seats.
-
Yeah, I thought that it was a joke at first, too. I, along with many of my friends, have already paid full price for tickets and then they go and offer $5 tickets. Thanks for the advance notice, athletic department.
-
Tuesday is sold out.
-
Besides, they are shitty seats anyway.

Do you know what section they are in?

Same situ. here. WTF? :blank:

Tuesday is sold out.
Are you SURE?
-
just another jab at our shitty student support. good job guys, i hope eventually you start hearing the message that the rest of our fanbase has been sending your dumbasses.
$5 too much? i bet it is you lazy hayseeds.
-

Nobody said these were leftover student tickets they decided to drop the price on because they couldn't sell them, they're just regular shitty seats that now a bunch of students will be able to pay for because they're cheap if you bring your id.
-
How are we getting student prices for an event that we don't run?

actually, i got a note handed to me today that said just that...students were being cheap, lazy hayseeds and weren't buying tickets. it also said that the majority of students were terrible fans and that even @ $5 the CBE organizers had no faith in any students showing up to support the q'@ts
pretty embarrassing for someone like myself who bragged to CBE organizers about how this tourney would sell out with no problem. good job students, make a joke of us all.
-

I was told upper level in the endzone.
-

Yeah I'm pretty sure that someone will buy your lower level tickets for the shitty upper level behind basket top 10 row seat you'll get for $5. BTW it has nothing to do with the AD "giving notice" I already explained this.
-
Hey old dudes, I'll sell you my student ID for 40 bucks so you old dudes can cheat the system and buy five dollar tix. PM if interested.
-
Tuesday is sold out.
Completely false, do you not know how to use the Ticketmaster site or did you just make that up.
-
How are we getting student prices for an event that we don't run?
"We" had nothing to do with the ticket price, as explained more than once the promoter of the event made the decision, it is just a way to rack up group sales.
eff guys this isn't hard to understand
-
That was my point bro.
-
Although it makes no sense to offer the deal to students in Spokane, Milwaukee, and Durham I wouldn't be surprised if the promoters did. It isn't a K-State thing its a money making thing.
-
Tuesday is sold out.

You're right. Single tickets still available. Couldn't get 2 together though.

Call the Sprint Center box office if you're looking for pairs.

So, any students want to sell me their non-student tickets?

Sounds it's close to a sell out.

Who cares if somebody else gets a better deal than you do? The people bitching in this thread are just like the dumbass football season ticket holders who bitched last year about Currie offering $99 season tickets as a one time deal. This sounds like a great deal and it's sure to sell out the Sprint Center, something KSU has never even come close to doing.

this won't have any impact at all. my guess is that most students are waiting for the tickets to hit the sub $3 mark.

True. Maybe they should tell students at KU and Pitt State that they can get in for $5 with their student ID's, too. We'd probably get more of them to show up than our shitty students.
-
Price isn't an issue, but no way this qat is driving from MHK to KC for a bball game. :clack:

did you not see all the student shirt tucks in the front row thread?
-
you'd be better off paying the extra $20 to sit in the lower level.
upper deck at sprint center is awful (unless you bring the hubble telescope)

Hell, if we can't even sell out tickets to a #1 vs #3 matchup in the fancy new KC venue, we are mumped. No way Frank puts up with that crap. I hear Miami is nice this time of year...

2SPRINT as a promo code buy one get one on $25 and $10 seats

IMO, this reflects poorly on KC as a "college basketball town". If you live in a "college basketball town" you show up to watch a tournament where 3 of the 4 teams are ranked in the top 13.
Good luck getting regional finals rounds of the NCAA Tourney you f*cking undeserving losers. :flush: Enjoy watching Holy Cross play Kentucky followed by UNI vs. Rhode Island in the first round every 4-10 years.

Petro was talking about this last week. He called bullshit on all the KC people who claim to be "college basketball fans" and said if they were then the CBE would have no issues selling out year after year.
-
Yeah this is bull crap. Christ, how is $40 even too much for people with a college degree. What the eff are you doing with you money?
As for Students? Jesus, how often in your college career are you going to get to see us be in the top 5 and possibly playing the #1 team, AND it not be KU....
-
I talked to the Sprint Center box office today and they told me it would be a limited amount in the "end zone" seating areas. They also told me "one ticket per ID and they can't promise that you will get requested seating next to someone."
They sound very sketchy for the students who have already bought tickets. I've also heard the seats in the end zone are terrible for viewing a basketball game.

I went last year (and each of the 4 years before that) and now think I might know what's going on.
They are trying to create the appearance of a student section for TV. They did this with Wichita State last year, and to my recollection was the first time I noticed this at the CBE. I sat right behind them. The seats are near the tunnel to the locker rooms in the corner iirc. Maybe 200 students.
Could be wrong, but I do faintly recall this student section mirage.

2SPRINT as a promo code buy one get one on $25 and $10 seats
What website did you get them off of?
-
Ticketmaster
-
Just did some fiddling around on ticketmaster, looks like lower level is sold out for the Monday games, best seats were section 227 row 11 (Northwest corner), and those were $25 seats.
Tickets to the games on Tuesday are not available in pairs, there are no seats together. AIN'T NO SEATS!

Still works for Monday's Games.
Also took 3 different Sprint Center ticket office employees before one even acknowledged these $5 walk-up tickets existed.
-
alright so what the eff... if i show up with like ten friends tomorrow morning are we going to be able to get these tickets??
serious question. i don't want to drive down there if we won't be able to get them.

They said that they were going to hold 300 tickets for K-State students to do this. You can pick them up at the ticket office at the SC @ anytime with a KSU ID. I'd go early tomorrow and try. That'd be your best bet.

They also said those tickets went on sale on Wednesday, you better call first just in case some people decided to go to KC over the weekend and buy them early.
-
the bitch in the ticket office said only tomorrow. we'll see.

Maybe Dave Lewis screwed it up when he announced it, but my season tix are next to a family of 2 current students, they were sitting with their 'rents when Lewis read the announcement and they heard it too and said that they would in fact go home for the weekend, buy their tickets, and not go back to school until after T'giving.
-
Available in blocks of at least three as of 10 minutes ago.
-
just bought two for tonight's game. they have "a handful left". tomorrow night's student tickets are sold out. if anyone wants to sell me any tickets for tomorrow night's games (student or non-student), PM me.
-
I got the "handful" bit as well. $6 a piece, 1 per student ID.
