Spanish speakers and their regional accents can be tricky (apparently).  This really started bugging the cac out of me, so I had to investigate.  Although most of us who've taken espaƱol basico would probably assume that ll = y in this case, it's pretty effing complicated.  Looks like it should be a combination of j and y sounds (maybe with a hint of an L before) - Ah-SPREE(L)-jyah?  Can't find much that rhymes with that, unfortunately.

Check out my favorite youtube baloncesto video (think it's from Colombia) to hear a dude who sounds like he should know how to pronounce it...pronounce it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1GSj3Z8Bmc (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1GSj3Z8Bmc)

Also...http://poorbuthappy.com/colombia/post/ll-pronunciation-rule-for-columbia/ (http://poorbuthappy.com/colombia/post/ll-pronunciation-rule-for-columbia/)

Anyway, it's definitely not uh-SPRILL-uh.  Come on, PA guy.  At least try.

the ll sound is one of the most variable.  saying it j sound good (and is colombian).  saying is sh sounds even better and is more exotic.  you can get lots of combos too (mixes of j, sh and y).

Almost fainted when he flicked that beautiful behind-the-back pass to McGruds (?), who promptly stumbled to the free throw line instead of throwing down a thunderous jam.  AMAZING.  Freddy is quite the upgrade in the post, friends.  Not that this is a surprise to anyone.

I'd like to give you the powerespect emot, but you're straight up tard. Not like the corky kinds where they can live by themselves someday, but the kind that need to eat with a dull down fork so they don't poke their eyes out.
