Just LOL at Snyder doing this . . . nobody tells LHC Bill Snyder how he should run his program.

If we hired a consultant, we might as well just offer them HCIW.

LOL at Mack Brown doing this. How is Dick Tomey qualified to tell Mack Brown how to run a football program?

Tomey was an assistant at Texas . . . other then that, I thought the same thing.   Certainly they aren't going to listen to him on offensive stuff.   His offenses at Arizona made LHC Bill Snyder's look like a wild eyed coked up Mike Leach was calling plays.

I think coaches do this sort of thing pretty often, but its usually behind the scenes with out of work/retired coaches that are respected coming in to watch practices, etc.  I think what some are doing now is having them come on the sideline for games, and in those cases you've got to hire the guy as a consultant b/c its public.

At K-State, we just have the consultants put on the Jonathan Beasley suit.

Along the same lines, I suspect any real consultant would probably tell OB the first thing he needs to do is shitcan about 80% of the coaching staff . . . so we know this is never going to happen.

Mack Brown: "I guess people think I need a consultant right now." Said Dick Tomey is not consulting for the Longhorns.

Mack Brown: "We had 101,000 consultants at the game. And none of them was paid."

OB will not be distracted from CTR: Link (http://blogs.commercialappeal.com/geoff_calkins/2010/11/larry-porter-calls-for-help.html)

Larry Porter didn't say a whole lot worth noting, but he did tell me that, just this morning, he called Kansas State coach LHC Bill Snyder (right) to ask for advice. He doesn't even know Synder, he just knows him as a guy who has been in hopeless situations and turned them around.

I thought it was a good sign, that Porter was looking for input, at least, that he was willing to consider what he me be doing wrong. As for what he learned from Snyder?

"He hasn't called me back," Porter said.
