Went a few years ago. Amazing.
-
well, looks like I'll be partying w/ Jay-Z
michigancat -> :cheers: <-Jay Z
-
The line up looks pretty solid so far. nobody that I would be completely  about though. The way they're announcing artists is incredibly annoying, wish they would just do it all at once
-
I take it back, Dead Weather just announced. Allison Mosshart
-
Damian Marley and Nas are my  right now. Or Flaming Lips.
Really like the hip hop lineup: Jay Z, Kid Cudi, Nas, Wale, Jay Electronica so far.
-
Rise Against...

Hey, bro, do all the acts at "bonnaroo" sound like this?
Cause, (just sayin), I'd rather scoop out my eyeball with a scalding hot ice cream scooper, then use the same scooper to scoop some mint chocolate chip ice cream into the empty socket, and then eat it.

Could be better, but there's someone I want to see all the time except for part of Saturday afternoon. Biggest problem are the conflicts (Theivery corporation vs. Jay Z, Flaming Lips vs. Chromeo, B.O.B./Kid Cudi vs. LCD Soundsystem, Dr. Dog vs. Nas/Damien Marley, etc.)

Thievery Corp v. Jay-Z isn't even a remotely close decision.
BTW, congrats on the passes, completely jealous

I was at Black Keys on Friday there, pretty fantastic show

No, it isn't, but I'd rather see Thievery corporation over a lot of other people.

Biggest problem are the conflicts
Always the main issue at music fests. Outweighed by the bonus of getting to see so many bands for what you would normally pay to see one headliner.
Bonnaroo seems like a gamble, imo. You have the travel expenses and camping headaches involved, and on top of that it will almost 100% of the time be either Africa hot or rain the entire time. Same risks as Stampede, I would think.

It's not a gamble at all. You know it's going to be hot as f*ck and storm at least once - you just prepare for it. Camping is included w/ your ticket and is part of the fun. (and makes it really cheap). At Lollapalooza, for example, you HAVE to stay in hotel, and figure out a way to get there every night if you don't have one right downtown (which you would pay out the ass for).

sounds like a blast rus. be sure to hook us up w/a "fb" gallery after.

Pfffffft, that would be news....

Pretty solid lineup, but Bonnaroo has become so corporate over the years. It's not what it used to be, IMO.

Suck my corporate dick while I party with Jay Z, loser.

This says it's Tenacious D live, but it's in daylight. I wonder if micat wasted time with this. I like the D, but this sucks.

We had a pretty big thread discussing cigars on the football board. I think it started because HCIW Sean Snyder was smoking one or something. Pretty OT though, I wouldnt even read it.

Pretty poor lineup. Rap isn't good live, they need to quit pretending it's 2001 and Eminem is still making good music. Arcade Fire rough ridin' blows, Pitchfork needs to get off Girl Talk's dick.

Jay Z was amazing last year. I don't expect much from Eminem.
You rough ridin' people whining about lineups that kick ass. I swear.

there are maybe 3 acts on there that I would be willing to pay to see, and I'd much rather wait to see them on their own tour and terms than at douchefest 2011

See, I'm kind of the opposite. There's probably only 3 that I would pay to see on their own, but many that I would go see in one spot. Like, I would never pay for a Lil Wayne concert, but I will go see him when I can go see Wanda Jackson, Phosphorescent, and Explosions in the Sky the same day. (all artists I would not pay for on their own, but would definitely see at a place like Bonnaroo).
And trust me asava, your taste is not that interesting.

much more interesting than any one of those artists you listed.

Hangout Fest has a way better lineup. And it's on the beach. And way cheaper. See you tards in Alabama.

would you rather go to bonnaroo or atp?

would you rather go to bonnaroo or atp?
Without even knowing the full ATP lineup this year, Bonnaroo, for 2 main reasons:
1) For the price, you get a lot more variety and choices - you'll probably see a great deal of overlap between the two if the last two ATP's are any indication.
2) Camping is included and music goes much later every night

Pretty solid lineup, but Bonnaroo has become so corporate over the years. It's not what it used to be, IMO.
[/quote/]
It's so corporate.....maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!
Lol
-
allison krause, old crow medicine show, and raylamontagne would be good
-
EITS!
-
Primus
Rest of the lineup is pretty good also.
-
!!! is still one of the best performers i've ever seen. that was like 2 or 3 drummers ago, but i imagine they are still a lot of fun. also was in a smaller venue, so I don't know how it will translate to a festival setting, but i'm sure its funky.
-
Beirut is my favorite on the list slightly edging out Decemberists (for sing-along-ness)
Haven't seen either live though. :frown:
-
Jesus Christ I love this year's lineup. Went in 2009 and it was increds., missed last year, and really really think I'm goin' back this year. EITS and Grace Potter and Decemberists and Black Keys and [on and on and on].......
-
Black Keys, Mumford & Sons, Decemberists, Superjam, Buffalo Springfield, Primus, and a couple others would be the only ones I'd be interested in seeing live.
