Title: Spooky movie idea thread
Post by: Pete on October 30, 2010, 05:41:48 PM
Interested in getting a spooky movie tomorrow night for my lover and I.  My lover doesn't like anything gory or "over the top."  I'd preferably like something that is on Netflix on-demand.  Any ideas?

Went thru the net-flix instant and the horror titles seem really bad.  I would rent one.  I like audtion.  Its japanese and starts out like a romantic comedy and then gets torturey.  Other than that, I enjoy bad 80s horror (couple favs: Silent night deadly night and Chopping mall).  Strangers is prob a decent mainstreamish one for you and a lover

The House of the Devil.

Any other suggestion is a horrible one.

I enjoyed Black Sheep last night.  It's about a flock of sheep in New Zealand that go around eating people.

Gu onya bru!

Okay, none of those are going to work.  My lover will say no to all of them.  Perhaps a harmless sounding/looking movie that I can sneak by that later turns out to be freaky (ala sixth sense).

I got a couple suggestions by Guillermo Del Toro. "The Orphanage" and "The Devils Backbone." Scary movies about orphans and ghosts.  You gotta get past the spanish language and whatnot.  I know a little spanish, but I watch them with english subtitles on.

Inland Empire is, by far, the scariest motion picture with sound I've ever seen.

"have you checked the children"

"we traced the call. It's coming from inside the house!"

Don't remember the name.  Was remade several years ago(turned out poorly).  Orig is best.  Made in the '70's I think.
